how is soccer in america? I want to play on profesional level in America, I'm from Holland, and I'm thinking of coming to America to play soccer in US, should I???? or is that a bad idea????
there arent any american players in europe that constantly perform well. as a matter of fact there already some that are going down to lower divisions and if some clubs dont do well like now they are going to be joined by their fellow statesmen haha. americans needed a mexican to tach them how to play football and evolve.
Everton, Reading, Fulham, Blackburn,Celtic, Aston Villa, and Queens Park Rangers (the team for which the goalie in the video, Matt Pickens is now playing) would respectfully disagree with you.
I don't understand why people have a problem admitting that the USA has a long history of producing excellent goal keepers, and I'd go as far to say that we have the best field of goal keepers on our side of the hemisphere (I didn't say the single best goal keeper, I said the best field).
Our goal keepers are what keep us from getting embarrassed by far better teams. We have a decent record against Mexico now, but it's our goal keeping that has kept Mexico from stomping us. If we had the crap goal keeping they have, we'd be dead.
riiiight...that's why there are no American goalkeepers at prominent clubs overseas and a there aren't a few in MLS being scouted by tiny clubs such as Arsenal. Yeah, it's really in bad shape. /sarcasm
dude, wake up. What prominent clubs? the only good one an american GK plays for is Everton. That's it. And who doesn't get scouted by Arsenal? everyone gets looked at by arsenal.
'dude' you wake up. Brad Friedel will be kinda mad you forgot about him at Blackburn. Keller at Fulham, Hahnemann at Reading. The difference is Guzan is most likely going to be signed by Arsenal and START in January. I understand you have to keep up the rivalry but US goalkeepers are FAR better than their Mexican counterparts.
oooo im sorrryy. I forgot about the mighty Fulham and Reading! Keller just got signed there after his other club got relegated(lol relegated..)and Guzan to Arsenal? Lmao dont make me laugh. Guillermo Ochoa of Mexico is more likely going to Man Utd. Brad to arsenal was a funny one though.
yeah moenchengladbach got relegated...with one of the lowest GAA's in the league. Stopping teams from scoring wasn't their problem. Talk about laughing, Ochoa to ManU? C'mon now.
Laugh all you want, Arsenal have been to 10 games to see Guzan and have talked with his agent on a number of occasions. Doesn't seem so far fetched. Oh and he's better than anyone on El Tri. Fact.
"Fact." for sure. I don't know of any encyclopedias that say : Brad Guzan. American. United States Men's National Team and is better than anyone on El Tri. Sorry but not a fact. You must be delusional if you think that Guzan can start for Arsenal if he was eliminated VERY early in the MLS playoffs. I'd like to see the article where it says "Arsenal scouts Brad Guzan."
so using your logic, you look up into the sky in the morning and see the sky is blue, but you'd need an encyclopedia to tell you it's a fact? Empirical evidence.
Chicas USA got knocked out early becuase both of their strikers were out. Go to 'Truth & Rumors' on Sports Illustrated, Premier League news feed, Soccer by Ives, Soccer Insider by Steve Goff, Big Soccer news links. They all have numerous 'Arsenal interested in Guzan' links.
Guzan will not go there. just because it's rumoured and all that means nothing. Guillermo Ochoa CAN make it to a big EPL club over Guzan because i didn't see Guzan get a ballon d'or nomination, did he? He isn't his respective national teams first choice is he? Ochoa has a better chance at Arsenal or Man Utd over Guzan.
Ochoa is a good keeper. Unlike you I'm able to admit that. Guzan not being #1 at the moment has less to do with ability than it does the strength of goalkeeping in the US system. He's only 24 for Christ's sake. It's not just 'rumors' though. The club and his agent have been talking. It's not a speculative thing. It's not a done deal but it's not some story pulled of of thin air La Opinion-style
You joust compare cuality and price of a mexican goalkeeper to that of his southamerican and USA conterparts. Mexican goalkeepers are among the highest paid in the world and most of the weak euro clubs couldnt afford to buy them so they go for the low quality and cheapest option
A middling keeper in MLS, Troy Perkins just got a million a year deal from a club in Norway. No one thought he could go overseas and he's making a million a year. That's not cheap for a keeper who's not even close to the national team radar.
I think I've addressed quality. US goalkeepers are among the finest in the world and better than Mexican keepers in general IMO.
Where do you get that ridiculous stament ¿The finest in the wolrd? I don think so. Not by a long shot and i dont think any football specialist not even a US one would agree whit you. i think theres at least 10 countries whit better keepers that the US and Mexico is one of thema and several specialist arround the world would agree whit me
what are you talking about, there are no mexicans goal keepers in europe you negrodummus, and its not becuase they are expensive, thats bullshit, they suckballs
