  • just curious. whats with all the exit signs for?

  • @sirgigglez

It is one of my collections! :-D

  • Talk about being proud of someone for getting a heck of a deal...I saw those LED2EM's on eBay and almost had a cow! I'm glad you decided to open one up. I've never seen the inside before. (P.S.: If you ever wish to share one, you know who to send it to! lol)

I think I may have already done a spiel about the Spectra series replacing the Liteforms LC series back in 2005, so I won't bore you with that. I wish I could find a Liteforms LC, but they're so rare they're almost at myth status.

  • @compdude512

Well, I have never seen another one of the red LED ones show up again, so I figured the green ones are even rarer! I just might send you one, I don't really need 5 of the same thing. lol But not now though, maybe early next year. Got to get other life things sorted out first. But I'll for sure sell a few in the next few months.

I'll keep an eye out in the future for any Liteforms.

...and are you sure you're not a stalker? :-P

Photos and videos of any exit signs in my unboxing videos will come soon. Just been busy lately.

  • @SeberHusky I promise you I'm not, have never thought about, or have never aspired to be a stalker. :) One of my daily computer routines is searching eBay for rare exit signs and emergency lights that I can afford. There has to be somebody with a sign I'd like to have out there somewhere.

P.S.: I have no idea why I referred to the Sempra series as the Spectra series. Perhaps there was a Kia commercial on TV at the time--or maybe I was just asleep at the keyboard again. I'd bet on the second!

  • @compdude512

    hehe, OK.

It seems like everything I get, you've already seen, or have been watching on eBay. I think you spend just as much time on eBay as me! LOL I'll quit collecting exit signs for the time being, as I need to save up cash for a new laptop, so you should be safe to bid on things. I never outbid people anyways, unless I really need the item. :-)

  • @SeberHusky I do, actually. lol I usually do my searches at night because most people will do their listing during the day. That gives you a better opportunity to see more of what's new.

If this was five years ago, I'd tell you to search out a Gateway MT6840 laptop. I still love my MT6840, but I'm really beginning to feel the constraints of the 160 GB hard drive. I'd much rather have terabytes of space like I have on my desktop, even if it is extremely unorganized!

  • @compdude512

I've currently got a 2006 HP Pavilion dv6849nr laptop with a 500 GB hard drive (which only has 92 GB left).

I want to upgrade to a HP Envy 17 series laptop.

  • @SeberHusky Man. I'd love a hard drive that big. Since it was around the same time, I'd have probably bought the HP if Gateway had already sold off to Acer. (I used to have an Acer. It caused me HUGE problems.) Right now, I've got it networked to my desktop, so it shares some of the 1.5 TB of space.

Thanks to the Acer selloff, I also use HP now. The only problem I've ever had with my HP desktop is the power-on LED mysteriously died a week ago. That's something you don't really need, anyway.

  • @compdude512

Ah. Well, HP's out of the computer business now as well.

HP laptop have their own little quirks, like poor venting design, which leads to overheating. If you put a good cooling pad underneath them from day one though, they will be fine.

  • Wow cool stuff, I am liking mail day, where is my stuff ? lol......
