I am sad that your cat does this, but thank you for posting that we know other owners experience this. My 16-yo Calico has recently started doing this only when you pet her on her lower back...she will lose control of urine, shake, stick out her tongue, and even bite you really hard if you don't get your hand out of the way when it happens. It really does look like some sort of seizure. What does your vet say causes it? Have you showed him/her the video? I would be interested to know.
@raenterprises I visited that site and I see no science whatsoever supporting your radical interpretation. Everywhere they suggest caution and consideration; which you are not doing. Your arguments are baseless and unfocused. We have dangerous diseases under control because of vaccinations and despite people such as yourself.
What you are doing here (and likely everywhere you go) is dangerous and possibly reckless. I seriously hope you reconsider your actions.
Yeah, my cat does this... only lasts about 5 seconds, but wets himself when he does it. every time. Honestly, the cat pees more than I do. I didn't know what was going on, wanted to say this was helpful and the only video on youtube or pretty much anywhere with this variety of what is apparently a seizure triggered by itching. Thanks for the info!
Holy sh*t my cat does this exact same thing. Sometimes around 10 a day. She doesn't wet herself, but she bites ANYTHING near her and has already caused some pretty severe wounds on her sides and legs. Sometimes just a simple brush past her back can start one and she's fallen down the steps more than once. Thank you very much for this video, I'll have to try the antibiotics and bath.
@chesterchow1 Unfortunately I do not think the antibiotics helped much.
What does seem to help is keeping her itching under control. The shampoo I am using it called Sebozole, provided by the vet. Also under the vet's recommendation I give her flea medicine every two weeks instead of once per month. When she's having a bad day I give her some benadryl, which was not recommended by the vet; but it really seems to help.
@chesterchow1 And speaking of terrible bites, the poor thing once bit through her tongue which promptly got stuck. It was horrible, her tongue sticking way out of her mouth and a very obvious tooth sticking through it. A quick flick and it came off and really didn't bleed much at all.
@leobaby She was having these fits last summer, but over the winter she stopped having them. About 4 months went by without a single fit and the fur on her back grew in again. Then around April they came back again and it's just as bad as ever. She is an indoor cat, but did you notice any difference over the winter?

You broke the cat when you touched it.

just a thought...the flea medicine could be a toxin to her....causing a allergic reaction. would only give her a natural one.
