This rivals the movements of Asimo in fact a lot better in my opinion. Heard Sony discontinued robot sector because of cost. I believe it is more to it than that because what I see here is truly advanced than many. I would think more so that the military has taken over and the work is still continuing.

Is not so hard to make a robot learn like a baby (programed through stimulus and not by writting a code), this's not the problem. The obstacle is to converge the info that comes from vision, sound, words, textures, environments, context and more to make the robot to output a coherent response, but who knows the matter says that in 2030 will exist smart robots

Well actually it's not Sony's robot. It's HRP-2 build by Kawada Industries. The research robots is expensive, but it's not only for pure fun. It pushes different branches of engineering forward. What has been developed in research on humanoid robot, can be later on used in, for instance, rehabilitation devices etc. ....
