Any instrument may seem more difficult to one person than another. Someone with a greater interest and "talent" may take to an instrument relatively naturally, while others may work long hours and achieve little.
I'm glad Sasha's on YouTube - he is a great talent and it is generous of him to share his love for music freely with those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend his concerts.
not true you get what you put in if you practice 10 hours a day you will sound like it if you just noodle around fo5 hours you will sound like it I hate that cliche that some are naturlly better than others I mean do you even play instrument?
Xmalibur, Honestly, not more than beginner. But I do collect instruments and I find that some are easier for me to duff around with than others. I understand that's no comparison with a professional and that, humbly, I am undereducated in this area. I can only speak from my own experience.
For example, perhaps because of my own small fingers, I have great difficulty practicing with guitar, but less so with clarinet.
The great piano master Chopin had very small hands,I understand what your saying but what I believe is some are more motivated to play an instrument than others I have been playing guitar for about 3 years but thats only because I feel inspired by it.
doesn't motivation lead to more time spent practising the instrument? =p
when i was lower grades, i used to think that natural talent(i.e. musicality) was very important. but the truth is, it's only the finishing touch, if you don't have the time spent to develop a proper technique to support your talent, having that talent doesn't meant that you will necessarily get anywhere.
Offcourse every instrument in the beginning is hard to play, But I think You can faster learn the guitar and after that the piano than the Harp ? I can be completly wrong because i can only play the guitar and piano and I don't know how it's like to play the harp, But friends of mine do play the harp and i saw that it took years to play on it :)
I think it's relative. I have never touched a harp, but it looks terribly frightening to me. I have tried both electric and acoustic guitar and, perhaps due to my own lack of interest, never got very far. But I did make, many years ago, first chair in clarinet, and I have a decent singing voice. So I would have to conclude that interest and passion is a major variable in that equation.
Is that a blonde Diana? I have a mahogany one but I'm really more partial to the natural finish... I really appreciate people who can play in that setting; I'm not fond of having to play super loud in such a large space.
Sasha: I'm a harp Student from argentina, I'm 20 and i'm really impressed. I've not heard about your teachers, but they have done a great job and they're surely proud. In my country it's much harder because a mid-class young like me doesn't get to a new harp easily. I don't even have an old one tu study (like the most here)... After seen your web site I'm even more impressed of so much prizes you got being so young. No more to say. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Sir, that was incredible!! What a gift you have! Do you know anything special for voice and harp? I've always wanted to go and sing in Russia, though may be in a few years!

do you think harp is easier or harder to play than the classical guitar? how about the piano?
thegreatestbak 3 years ago
Guitar is one of the most easyest things to play, so i think that harp is the most difficult one, because piano isn't very hard either ;)
l0ttt 3 years ago
oh really? SOunds like you don't know what you're talking about. I'd like an explanation of how you measure difficulty.

Yes. It's can be Britten or some other composers. Also I think it's not too difficult to play piano + voice on the Harp
