I AM WHITE, AND I KNOW MARVINS MUSIC IS BRILLIANT. HE WAS A TRUE ARTIST. THERE IS NO ONE THAT WILL EVER COMPARE TO THIS GENIUS. HIS MUSIC KNOWS NO COLOR. R.I.P. MARVIN, YOU ARE NEVER FORGOTTEN.
oh my god...this is such a beautiful song...i love the five track harmonies only marvin could pull off...just a superb track. where is artistry like this these days? like biggie sez, "damn, things done changed"
Marvin didn't want to release this song as a single. This was suppose to be on the flip side of "Let's Get It On". It was never release until 2000 or 2001.
its because there is no one around to teach them and sadly who cares in a world of facebook and twitter that just about sums it all up to me. Marvin would turn in his grave as all he sang about is getting worse!
I miss perhaps the most conscientious artist of mankind... Marvin Gaye. Even Pac said, "I remember Marvin Gaye use sing to me/ he had me fillin like black was the thing to be". Man! This artist was just the illest (He & Sam Cooke, who influenced Marvin). But Marvin will neva die cuz his legacy will foreva live on.
Music is the beat of the soul. It doesn't matter whether you are in the Arctic or in the Congo, In California, or in the U.K. music makes the heart thrum, and the brain bring back wonderful memories. Without music, this may as well be a dead planet.
Lovely song. I love the song. I wish that I had been born during this generation. People were more solid, hope was ahead, the music was much better, etc. Nowadays, it's all coming to a painful close.
Marvin Gaye was the king, forever his music is eternal, timeless.
I like to listen to this song first thing in the morning before I have to leave home. It inspires me to be a good/positive person in my daily life, as a means of answering the question posed in the chorus.
This tracks knows his origin in a version of Donald BYrd(comp. Mizell bros) on the album Black Byrd, recorded in 1972 at the Sound Factory in Los Angeles.
Marvin Gaye etait un vrai visonnaire un revolutionnaire de la lignée de Bob marley Malcom X Lumumba Mulele Che Gevarra Marcuq Garvey Luther King ....
