Best way I found to kill him: The tornado skull things soul (its a guardian). You just hold down R below him and watch the tornado (even level one) destroy him. Finished him with a lil mana to spare.
Honestly when i first faced the boss i felt violated, i just hit him and hit him, the Axe Armor did wonders which hit him thrice and slid some puppets too, but when i suddenly appeared on a random iron maiden recieving 100 damage and standing on a pool of blood i seriously got frigged off the first time
I was 11-12 when i faced this guy if i remember well, and it DID scared the hell out of me when he warped me with puppets, beat him without even taking them out (Costed crapton of potions >_>)
D-pad Up and Y or X.A doesn't work for me when I try to do it from your instructions.Instead it just sill does a critical.Which I find annoying since it takes about a quarter of your mp.
Ugh. I actually hated this boss because I didn't have the Mandragora soul. On my New Game Plus I actually learned my lesson and started grinding for it the first chance I got.
Man, you're really good a drawing the incantation circle fast. When I try to make them that fast, most of the time, I just screw up and extend the fight.
Wish he was this easy in Harmony of Despair..

This boss is a prime example of a wonderfully made Castlevania boss, you have to admire the concept for it...especially the iron maidens...
