Darrin gives confident & emphatic, "I don't know" answers to Samantha's simple questions about the cars gears.
Sol Saks was creator of the series, wrote the pilot & the 'Bible', later used by series writers as a guide. In his book, he says about Darrin's character:
"...So our star [Samantha] had to have a husband. Again, very little choice. By tradition, he had to be a WASP who loved his mother and was slightly retarded in a charming way. ..."
how fitting for Endora to appear and disappear in front of who would soon be reincarnated as her brother, Arthur. This would begin the sibling rivalry between Endora and Arthur.
well...remember when they changed the background to purple and the theme song changed a little bit? the also changed it from the dirty blonde to making her hair yellow.
I loved this show growing up and can't get enough of it now that i'm an adult. These were the shows that taught you something in a message that was safe, and clean for your children to watch alone. Boy I miss those days.
There are no rear view mirrors on this 1965 Impala. Come to think of it, there's no windshield either in the close ups. Everything was optional on a Chevy, but this is ridiculous!
First thing Back inthe 60"s some cars did not have a lot of things. Like Power brakes Stering, windows, lock, ac and mirrors. If you ever been to Universal Studio tours in CA. There house is on the same street Desprite house wives is on. it all filmed on the Back lots the tour is on... Only one thing. If you start a car in N you need to put on the parking Brake.... And Uncle Auther/ howard is Paul Lynn......
I thought it was funny that when they did their special effect of speeding up the film ... uh ... they couldn't separate the voices. Instead their voices while inside car speed up. Sounds funny.
Originally telecast in black and white on March 25, 1965, and Paul Lynde's first appearance in the series [because of this, he reappeared as "Uncle Arthur" the following season].. Plenty of outdoor scenes with Darrin's Chevrolet (and other Chevy models), as they were the original primary sponsor of the series
I guess he has his confidence back, though I thought she'd have to do some magic to get him to do things appropriately!!

When I watched this show as a kid, I always wondered how they lived in a town that only had Chevrolet cars. I caught onto them by age 5.
