The North American Union sounds good, easier travel, access to more goods, services and opportunities, a stronger currency, and easier enforcement of laws that can prevent crime that effects all three countries. My only concern is that everyone's currency is protected. Other than that, I don't see what the big problem is.

The North American Union sounds good, easier travel, access to more goods, services and opportunities, a stronger currency, and easier enforcement of laws that can prevent crime that effects all three countries. I personally believe the Union of Canada and the USA would make this region of the world the most powerful. The USA has an estimated 1.5 Trillion barrels of oil shale and owns 25% of the worlds coal supplies, and Canada is very rich in natural resources. I am not sure what Mexico brings to the table, but they are our neighbors, so lets bring them in.

Unfortunately this strategy of calling people "conspiracy theorists" works with unthinking people. Just as importantly it works with people who feel they will lose the respect or cooperation of other people, especially at work, where it could become an issue. Here's a good quote about this subject;

Furthermore, an attack on "conspiracy theories" means that the subjects will become more gullible in believing the "general welfare" reasons that are always put forth by the State for engaging in any of its despotic actions. i agree. the thing about conspiracy/alternative theories is it makes people think: instead of being like sheep, it makes them question the official line. I believe that is always healthy. It fosters critical thinking, being able to distinguish and parse through the rubbish and the treasure alike. It only gets ridiculous when people start to think everything is a conspiracy and become paranoiacs.
