About the Carrie vs. Kelly thing, I don't get it. They're two completely different artists. Both are very talented. The only difference is Carrie found her comfort zone AND the place she belonged, and it worked. Kelly being Pop was her misfortune. Nothing lasts anymore. She didn't buy into it, and I don't blame her. It took a lot of guts to do what she did.

Actually I think I figured that out. The judges didn't get the results until America got them, but they got more than what we got. They got to see how "many" votes they received every single week. My guess is that he saw Carrie exceed with the votes every week and that she got far more any other idol ever had and made a sound prediction from that. I also think that's how he predicts who will be the winner each year. He uses science.
except he never ever got it right, except for with carrie. in season 5, he did not predict taylor, in season 6, he did not predict jordin (he predicted melinda), and in season 7, simon predicted david A. so he just got it right one year, out of 7. and in all these years, Paula actually got it Right almost every single year. for example, she was the only one rooting for cook last year. She has a much better track record than simon. but hey, i dont think its a competition.

About the Carrie vs. Kelly thing, I don't get it. They're two completely different artists. Both are very talented. The only difference is Carrie found her comfort zone AND the place she belonged, and it worked. Kelly being Pop was her misfortune. Nothing lasts anymore. She didn't buy into it, and I don't blame her. It took a lot of guts to do what she did.

Actually, she is. Kelly's sold 9.52 million, while Carrie's only sold 9.18 million. That's just in the US - Kelly's sold tons more internationally than Carrie has.

Kelly's appeal was that she was the "original" American Idol. After Breakaway, her sales started a significant decline. America was just waiting for the next best thing to come along, and that was Carrie. Carrie can sing circles around Kelly. Kelly tends to scream, while Carrie has mastered projection.

this was the first season of idol that i watched and it makes me proud to think that i did vote for her and i liked her from the start... my friend said she would never go anywhere because she was boring but hey- if CMA Female Vocalist is "going nowhere" then fine by me. Kelly, Carrie, and David Cook are the best idols out there and are gonna stay around for a long time.

Actually I think I figured that out. The judges didn't get the results until America got them, but they got more than what we got. They got to see how "many" votes they received every single week. My guess is that he saw Carrie exceed with the votes every week and that she got far more any other idol ever had and made a sound prediction from that. I also think that's how he predicts who will be the winner each year. He uses science.

except he never ever got it right, except for with carrie. in season 5, he did not predict taylor, in season 6, he did not predict jordin (he predicted melinda), and in season 7, simon predicted david A. so he just got it right one year, out of 7. and in all these years, Paula actually got it Right almost every single year. for example, she was the only one rooting for cook last year. She has a much better track record than simon. but hey, i dont think its a competition.

actually among the judges only randy genuinely rooted for archuleta. both simon and paula were all for cook. the finale may not spell that out but it's the truth. simon liked cook way better. he said that on every talk show he appeared on

anyone who thinks she is boring has not seen her in concert. She rocks the house. Saw her with Keith, and the biggest cheer came when she appeared with Keith singing Stop Draggin my Heart Around. She has really come into her own as a top entertainer, and it's only a matter of time before she wins entertainer of the year to go along with her kazillion vocal awards.

Kelly is ok...i dont hate her. Somehow Carrie is more likeable in in terms of her talent, beauty, and down-to-earthness. She has her own specialty..so does Kelly. But being a Carrie fan, i am all the way for Carrie.

im sure they will use kelly too for a promo. they have used david and carrie so far, kelly and jordin should be coming right up. (i have a feeling the other 3 will be ignored though) i mean, its still over 2 more weeks until the show comes back. that being said, i agree carrie has the better voice.

I don't listen to pop and have never heard Jordin either. It's all relative. Carrie is he most successful of all Idols, so it's fitting that they use her in their promo. She has an amazing voice and the industry voted awards to prove it
