Those auto chokes can be fiddly to set up but yours sounds great now, there's a coiled heated Bi Metal spring in that housing. I have an older CCK model that had severe choke problems, I had to modify the Choke plate to cure it, but it's excellent now, loads owners had same problem.
I have the same generator some one gave me, but its liquid propane. Is there any way I can convert it back to gasoline, or is there a cheap way to have it run of of a vapour propane tank?
@birks95 I had my old Onan twin running on Propane yesterday for an experiment, they run really smoothly have done this on many Generators, really simple-cheap you probably have most of the pipe what have you already, msg me.

@6030diesel Yes mines an old but original Onan twin, and for weeks it's been unreliable, choke flap sticking down on vacume all the time, then when you back it off takes 4-5 minutes cranking instead of being instant, take a look at the modification I did, starts in 1-2 seconds every time now without fail, and you can still set it for the time you need as normal.
