I just realized something. Parents have a very specific office in the lives of their children. They have the responsibility to share the best they can with their children because they are helping to shape their pattern of living. And this is why it is okay to focus on that responsibility. For so long, being someone who has never had any children, I could not understand why people focused on their families and ignored all others. Now I understand.
