  • Loved the cover. And your end freestyle move lol. But honestly that random chicken head bobble thing u do had me Rollin! Thumbs up tho bro

  • @Trollinismyhobby1 Thanks a lot man! and I know I look really stupid at moments lol I focus too much sometimes, gotta get more loosey goosey know what i'm sayin?

  • @drumsticks135 dude i feel ya... im sure if i recorded myself playing id probably trip on myself... ive been told when i get into it i make a goofy ass face hahahaha... every drummer has their own little "wtf was that!?" moment haha

  • @Trollinismyhobby1 that's just true in everyday life more me haha it's whatever

  • The fills werent what chad does, but still sound pretty great. Nice ending

  • wow the 12 people that disliked this obviously don't play the drums. nice cover.

  • Hiya dude. I wanna buy a drum kit soon, and your one looks like a good one. It would really help if you could tell me the size of your toms and your bass drum, thanks sooooooo much :D

  • good ending

  • you have a quick kick foot..i like it. Check out this video me and my buddies recorded and tell me what you think.

  • lol i love your throne, may i suggest a roc-n-soc nitro throne. great cover!

  • you're so good!

  • what you pay for the drum??

  • suck a dick you fags

  • @jhnphillips369 Well that's not very kind!!

  • I loved your Cymbals , you're a great player, but after 4:10 was desnecessary!

  • The last bit was not really necessary but other than that I think it was if not perfect than more than perfect

  • wow ur great hi i am caleb sister

  • i could cum on ur cymbals.

  • @BrutallMasacre ur gross

  • @deniseinohio im a girl.

    is it gross now?

  • solid cover!

  • I think its time to invest in a drum throne.

  • wow, many drills in the background :D

  • haha yes. I think you are the first person to notice! My dad is obsessed with wood working. There are probably 50 saws in the room also.

  • @drumsticks135 Btw, what do you think about the Alphas? Are they worth getting if you have a pretty low budget?

And what snare head are you using?

  • In your case, I would highly recommend them. I actually sold my set though because I wanted to get some top notch sabians, which has cost me an arm and a leg so far. Thank you graduation money lol but yeah, for you I think they would be a nice fit for your wallet.

  • I have the same drum shair!

  • soo....you wanna give me your drum set? :D

  • Man, you were like 16 at this point?! I started drumming way too late in my life. This is SICK! Nice work!

  • Yes you are correct! and thanksss. and it's never too late to learn new stuff

  • u should get some AA cymbols

  • How you like the alpha cymbals, I'm thinking about buying some!

  • They are decent, I would rate them as high intermediate. But I am looking for high end professional cymbals, probably sabian hhx evolutions. That being said, I am selling my alpha's. I will email the link of my post.

  • are these alpha's the brilliant finsh one's?? also whats the difference (obviously apart the look

  • No they are not, so i cannot tell you difference.

  • Nice high hat work bro! You are good!

  • Amazing i lovveeee it !!

  • very good

  • Yeah man .. very very good

  • Thanks for your advice. I'll be ordering the Paiste Alphas mediums to start off with and maybe look to upgrade once I develop an ear for better cymbals. In the meantime the Alphas are more than sufficient. Are the 2002 line that much better? Thanks, Danny.

  • Yeah no problem. and if you can try the sabians and paistes somewhere (like guitar center or sam ash), i would strongly recommend that. I really don't care how the medium crashes feel when you hit them. The don't "give" enough or something. It doesn't feel as buttery as i would like. But the sound is decent, so yeah just try them first if you can. And the 2002s are sweet. I'm not sure how much better they are cuz I haven't played them much

  • But I do know that my 16" medium crash sounds exactly like one of John Bonhams 2002s. Whenever I jam with Stairway to Heaven, it sounds like my 16" is in the song when I hit it

  • Couple quick questions: Paiste Alpahas or Sabian Xs20? I'm considering either of these two but can't make up my mind. I'm a beginner/intermediate looking for cymbals that can do a variety music. Thanks, Danny.

  • Paiste Alphas. They are ok, I want to sell them and buy higher end. but for you, I would just get whatever is more affordable honestly.

  • @drumsticks135 interested in selling the whole pack?

    im looking for alphas!

  • Yeah maybe for the right price

  • @drumsticks135

how much were you looking for?

  • Well if you were talking about the ones seen in this video, I invested about $700 and they are in pretty decent condition, no cracks or keyholes. So give me an offer off of that. Or, what would your offer be if I included my splash and china? In that scenario I have about $900 of an investment.

  • @drumsticks135

id like crashes first. cause im in desperate need of them.

  • Your ghost notes on the snare are very very good, awesome technique :)

  • are you using the original drum heads on all and snare? i changed my heads a long time ago cuz i didn't like the sound but with those mics it sounds good. hard to find someone using the collarlock series. Still usse mine everyday!

  • Nope none of those were original heads. Since I did this video like 2 years ago I don't remember exactly what the heads were. toms were pinstripes, snare was either a remo coated ambassador or emperor

  • Very nice man :)

  • Nice Bonham trips at the end

  • Head moves FTW! :D

  • awesome cover dude. keep it up!

  • maybe you can look a bit more to movies from chad smith.... I wish I had your snare

  • didnt care for the end but other than that I loved it

  • that hi-hat part is just beast.

  • you'd make chad proud bro

  • that was a pretty sick solo at the end man nice job

  • ok thanks i'll try that next time

  • hey great cover!

how do u do the chorus cas i can't keep the hi hat and feet doing different things?

  • @MrBettsBoy I don't really even think about it... but I'm playing eighth notes on the hats with my right hand, and I'm pushing it down as quarter notes with my foot so that It's open on the +'s

  • se ve q no tenes ideade bateria cualkier estupido de estos te hace un cover.. 4spiritdrummer rules!!!!!!

  • hey, great cover!

how do you do the chorus 'cas I'm having trouble getting the coordination for the steady hi hats beats.

  • good drumming you look relax playing

  • ur good but ur fills are lagging a bit

  • @jyankeesrock man have you put yourself on u tube, because you probably cant even do that

  • are you sitting on a pillow? :P

  • like the sound of ur snare drum.

  • you're pretty good man. but i think you shouldn't have played the begining and such parts sizzling with hihat. but though it's very nice. and is the ending solo really that necessary? hhh

  • how do you learn these songs? you play them very well.....do you read the sheet music?tabs?by ear? and are you self taught? your very good nice job...

  • by ear : )

  • @drumsticks135 same

  • @drumsticks135 by ear thats good i am stiil trying to do that

  • nice cover very good :) rock on

  • Hi ! First...excuse me for english...I'm italian. Your cymbals are Paiste Alpha right? But what model of Alpha? And what snare drum have you? Thnx ;)

  • you should try playing the travis barker remix of crank that by soulja boy. I love playing that song and i know youll have fun with it.

  • i LOVE your cymbals, these are truthfully the best cymbals i've seen on youtube

    and theyre so reasonably priced!

  • paiste rules!

  • the only paiste alpha cymbal i dont like is the china ):

  • I gonna buy me a china but what kind should I get?

  • zildjian a custom's are the best, buy one used on ebay (:

  • thanks!

  • so far, I haven't been a fan of any paiste china's. I think I"m going to get a wuhan actually. they are cheap and authentic.

  • nice stuff

  • Dude, I've seen you somewhere before!? I want to jam with you some day! Unca J

  • not bad .. is your drum stool a pillow though? lol

  • are the alpha's good sounding? cause i was thinking about getting them but im not sure

  • oh... after watching again, i noticed u are moving ur head and feeling the music... but not enough man! haha!

and i also noticed that you looked down at your snare for half of the video... look up once and a while... it all has to do with confidence...

    glad i could help.

  • i really like it... CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM: Try not to slow down on the fills. You tend to drag when working with toms... and the WAY you play in general is a little robot-ish.... u play fine though... good work.

  • I know exactly what you are talking about... any tips on fixing it? I've been playing the same way for like 4 years now. I look stupid when I play

  • If your talking about fixing the fill slow downs, honestly, the best thing you could do for yourself is buy a metronome.Play w/ it for about a half hour everyday for 2-3 weeks and you'll be blown away how much it helped!! Also, doing what you're doing here (recording yourself) helps a lot too.You can see and hear what you're doing "wrong".

  • For the robot look, again, just being honest,I can tell that you FEEL what you're playing..loosen up and HAVE FUN! Don't concentrate so much..let the music play YOU!!!!

  • @briandrum1 wow that helped me! i always concentrated too much on the music then i always mess up. maybe i should try what you just said maybe it can let the music flow! Thanks a lot!

  • chill man... dont bring yourself down by saying u look stupid. thats not being confident and the only way to fix it is with confidence... you think you'll look weird if your moving with the music in front of people, but what looks weirder? a good drummer being stiff, or having a hell of a time with the music? Dude, movin around can just be movin ur head with the beat... i sometimes even stand up when i play.. i get into it man... also just losen up ur arms a little. good luck man. keep drumming!

  • Are the crashes loud (the volume of them sound low) ?????????????

  • They are pretty medium i guess. not quiet, not super loud

  • dude, what mics are you using, and where

  • in this video I have all the toms miked which are just generic vocal mics (carvin cm50's), the bass drum is a sennheiser E835 vocal mic. I really need to get a bass drum mic that can handle the high sound pressure, because I have probably ruined this mic. I have a shure sm58 as the overhead and some random audio technica vocal mic on my snare. This proves that if you can mix and eq well, you can trick people into thinking that you have nice mics when in reality mine are pretty jank.

  • it sounds good aha nice one :)

  • You are very strong!!

  • Physically no lol drumming... partially

  • try usin your right foot more when you're playin durin the verses instead of leavin it flat. it gives it more of an accent and sounds cool. Chad Smith does that alot when he plays. Great cover though. Like how your cymbals sound.

  • the fils a little bit to slow in my opinion... but great

  • your really good men i like the sound of the snare

  • wow how much did your pa set up cost?

  • i love that snare. and the playing is really well done!!

pillow under bass is good, only constructive criticism is mixing on the kick drum. i know they can be finicky though

    keep it up!!

  • Yeah, the kick isn't exactly the sound I want. It's probably because the mic isn't even a kick mic. I think I used a sennheiser e835 on it, which is a vocal mic lol but I don't think it sounds too terrible..

  • 5 stars dude

  • i ended up going with a used 17" zildjian a custom projection crash , for about 90 bones

  • good job on havin the pillow under your ass lmao good job:)

  • well done!

    great final

  • i love the rhcp there beginning of songs are always peaceful and spiritual sounding but kick ass set dude sounds frikkin sweet why type of set is this cause its got a kick ass sound to it

  • dude ur snare is dirty! in a good way

  • great cover!

  • im thinking of buying the 18" crash for 70 beans.

  • which brand?

  • loved the john bonham solo u had going at the end and the rest was awesome too

  • Well done Mr Rochotte!

I like your drumming and you have a nice clean, tight style! But please tell me, are the Paiste Alpha's good cymbals as I look to get a new drum kit fairly soon but I'm just doing my research!

    Happy drumming TJ

  • thanks man! and about the alpha's, i'm pretty happy with them, however the medium crashes aren't as sensitive as i would like, by that i mean if i'm playing quietly its hard to get a full sound out of them. but if you play medium to loud volumes, they are great. that about my only thing against them.

  • Thanks for that! Here's a bit of advice, for quieter playing there are some Thin Crashes out there in the Alpha series which have a low to medium-loud volume.

These could be what you are looking for! Happy drumming TJ :)

  • i think that what your looking for is Sabian AAX X-plosion Crash..really..

  • ..you're..

  • ive never heard the collarlock series by DW, they sound great

    are they an old series?

  • yeah, I wish i knew more about them, as far as i know they were dw's side company in the late 80s, early 90s. then it went out of business and became pdp. I'm pretty sure that's how it is...

  • lol nice ending. great job. cymbals sound awesome.

  • ok and another question wen u got mics for da kit how does dat work do i have to buy an amplifier or were does da sound come out from??

  • well i have all the mics plugged into a mixer, and the audio from the mixer goes into my computer into the recording software.

  • cool dude, but the chorus, the hi hats are on the off beats.

  • hes playing it on the off beats, hes just also playing on the on beats when the hi-hats are closed

  • ..i know. i meant chad only plays off beats.

  • do u even drum?

  • nice job dude

  • were can i get tracks of chili peppers and metallica without da drums hope u can help me bro..nice cover super solid sound i like it

  • it did you have their drums in it! i just have mine mixed a little bit higher than theirs.

  • Solid and groovin'. Hope you're in a band. The solid groove is just what bands want.

  • you smell like a faggot.

  • Lol niceee

  • I thought something smelt funny...Nice drumming mate, keept it up

  • Comment removed

  • kiitos samoin

  • nice cover

  • You make it look so easy! I learned it but its not anywere as smooth as this! Great job!

  • You have a real nice feel for the music and a good sense of timing...that's what matters most. Good job, man! Your transitions from groove to groove are smooth so I think your playing can only get better from here. You might get a kick out of my short vid clips on youtube...I play in an older style of jazz. Worth a watch. Keep playing!

  • gohstnotes are perfect man !!!! Great

  • Hey dude! Nice cover! You played so well that it made me pick up my guitar and jam along with you!!!! EPIC!

You should try Readymade! Cos that is crazy hard on drums! And also you should do the drums for 21st Century so we can do a Collab video! Look on my channel for my cover and tell me if you are up for it!

  • dude i love both of those songs. and i would love to collab 21st Century! I'll see if i can get to it this week.

  • Nice one =D this is the first video ive seen where in the verse youve done the bass drum correctly 5/5 and you should try and learn suck my kiss it didnt take me to long to learn and its fun to play :)

  • me and my friends rhcp fun song

  • i liked your bass drum! very strict work.

Please check out my funk-cello cover of "Tell me baby" on my youtube channel.

  • I like your head bobble. :)

    Awesome cover man. :)

  • dude that was very well done =] loved the feeling put into it ha

could you do some covers by mute math? preferably typical?

  • thanks dude!! and OH MY GOSH!!! i would love to do the song you told me! i've never heard it before, and i'm raving over it right now!!

  • This was a great example of a gret cover!

  • Try Metallica - Blackened

  • Nice man...

    what are the specs???

  • nice

  • I have 2 requests: Detroit Rock City by Kiss and One by Metallica

  • How did you mix the actual sound track of the song and the your drumming?

  • lol. the board he uses have multiple outputs, so he just goes out to his recorder, and then sends just one of the channels (the channel with the music) to his head phones. or atleast, that's how i would do it.

  • Very well done, amazing, you went a bit mad at the end, lol, but i liked it :) 10/10

  • somebody had some fun at the end lol

  • really great drumming there

  • this is preety good. my stepbrother can play this great on bass im just not sure if i can get it down with the kick drum do you follow everything on the bass or fill it in with the grace notes

  • good job love it its dead on (kinda) im still working on the chorus the double pedal + high hat lift)

  • what drum mics do you use?

  • I notice 1:35. That beat you are doing is better than what they do. It's a nice grove that lasts about 2 seconds, half a phrase. :) I would like to see you finish the phrase/grove and make it go back around again. Like a revolving door in an office building. That would be really cool. I notice you head move as well. My friends used to laugh at me because I did that all the time. Move my head like that. They called me chicken head! LOL. I sure like you young man. You got it, and its a rare gift.

  • very nice cover

    and alpha rules xD

    but where is the china??^^
