The treehouse was suppose to be heaven and the ground heck. Limbo went through all that trouble to find sister (thats who i thinks the girl is) to get her and go to heaven.
Now that I think about it! This game kinda reminds me of the movie "What Dreams May Come" with Robin Williams. Like how he has to go to hell to find his wife who committed suicide...
But in this case the boy had to find his girlfriend( or sister or whatever) in "limbo"....

The two died from there tree house collapsing on them. The boy thinks he and his sister are still alive. So he goes and troes to fin her. But at the end his sister doesn't know he is there and thinks he is just a breeze of wind. They cannot move onto a better life together
So what I think is that they both died from a car crash explains the glass and the car in the tree house so there both dead and he is trying to find her in limbo so they can move on together but what he doesn't realize is that she is already at the end of limbo so that's kind of why at the end she is shocked or scared or I don't know so that's my theory

There are two groups of flies swarming over two dead corps at the end. So my conclusion is they fell from the tree house and died. Both in limbo and he's looking for her and finds her at the end. Then the end is the reality of two dead bodies.
guys its like the sopranos where tony is in a comma. he is in limbo and when he sees his cousin outside the house he is on the brink of death. the mansion they are outside is "heaven" and should he go he would of died. same idea with limbo. the girl is a relative and "heaven" is up the ladder. both in limbo both see a relative and both could have a "heaven".

The story began in the woods, his journey ends in the woods. He's to circle through Limbo like all lost souls do. Tragical, beautiful.

But he fell through glass. I think he went through a windscreen, rolled on the ground, then hit his head on a rock. That would explain the sharp and blunt object that he must deal with. Flying through the air would explain why gravity changing puzzles are in the game. It was also probably dark and raining. The fact that there is a treehouse could simply have been the sister's choice to bury him near a place they spent a lot of time together.

my version of the ending: the treehouse was set on fire. every tree is ruptured and black even in bright light, and that treehouse looks burned too. the ladder is made out of rope and wood, and the end it's missing. maybe because the fire got to it first. the boy and girl is shadowy too, you can't see them, so i can assume they burned too. through the game you see men who look like natives with spears and all. maybe they set the house on fire, and are chasing the kid cause they think he escaped.

Death has no sense or meaning, because he is already dead, so clearly he will reach the end nonetheless and all those deaths are his suffering for not seeing his sister, and to meet with her sooner, he has to accept that fact so he can be with her.

I'll offer what I think of the ending. I think they're both dead, (which explains the two sets of flies) and a long period of time passed (which explains the rotting ladder). I'm not too sure what the girl was doing there, but I have a feeling it was something like finding her and her brother's body (maybe they died because they were in a forest fire or lost in the woods together) and coming to terms with the fact they are both dead. After that, they were able to move on to (hopefully) heaven.
Whatever story is about... It needs movie... I think movie would be VERY VERY Interesting... I WANT MOVIE OF LIMBO! But I think they both are dead maybe they had fight in tree house so they both fell, u see not only broken stair... And maybe they both were in limbo through this hell... It looks confusing but very interesting and creepy story

The two died from there tree house collapsing on them. The boy thinks he and his sister are still alive. So he goes and troes to fin her. But at the end his sister doesn't know he is there and thinks he is just a breeze of wind. They cannot move onto a better life together

The boy breaking the glass means that he was involved in a car crash.
Spiders show the boy's fear of spiders.
Gears and stuff are probably what he saw during the car crash(I think.).
The girl/sister was burying him.
The Main Menu has a car in the upper right, damaged, which reassembles the car crash.
There were 2 groups of flies, hinting that maybe both of them died.
All I can say for now.

Here´s my theory: The boy´s dead. And you play as him throu Limbo. Im not sure what the crashin thro Glass means, maybe a car crash, or just a passage onto the "real world".
Either way he has returned to his sister, though he´s still dead. The Girl´s alive and are sadly burrying her brother near the location as where he died. People are gettin all sorts of idea what happens next, but ima leave it with what ive said. Either way it´s one of the best Games out there :D!

I think the intrepation of car crash is true.
1. On the upper right corner is an old car
2. There are two dead corpse at the screen
3. At the end he falls threw the glas, and everything is slowed down, like the "last seconds in a car crash"

This is the moment where the boy finds out that he is dead, and the girl is probably putting flowers on his grave, and she realizes he (his ghost) is behind her... Very sad, dramatic story..

There are two groups of flies swarming over two dead corps at the end. So my conclusion is they fell from the tree house and died. Both in limbo and he's looking for her and finds her at the end. Then the end is the reality of two dead bodies.

guys its like the sopranos where tony is in a comma. he is in limbo and when he sees his cousin outside the house he is on the brink of death. the mansion they are outside is "heaven" and should he go he would of died. same idea with limbo. the girl is a relative and "heaven" is up the ladder. both in limbo both see a relative and both could have a "heaven".

But I'm also on the boat that perhaps the boy died from falling out of the tree house, and the girl (his sister or his friend/love) is simply visiting the place where he died. He can see Limbo's version of the place where he fell, but it's not real. And the girl's eye's are not there, she's just a black shape - indicating that she's just a figment of his Limbo.
The story began in the woods, his journey ends in the woods. He's to circle through Limbo like all lost souls do. Tragical, beautiful.

There really are no words to describe how gripping this ending was for me. I wanted to know just who this boy is and what he was trying to find? Who is the girl? It's so mysteriously perfect that perhaps we're never meant to know.
I keep reading how maybe it's his sister... I think maybe it's the boy's true love who died abruptly from unfair circumstances.
He's searching Limbo for her... to save her.
God I love this game.

But he fell through glass. I think he went through a windscreen, rolled on the ground, then hit his head on a rock. That would explain the sharp and blunt object that he must deal with. Flying through the air would explain why gravity changing puzzles are in the game. It was also probably dark and raining. The fact that there is a treehouse could simply have been the sister's choice to bury him near a place they spent a lot of time together.

Here is what I think what happened: There was a brother and a sister and they had a tree house. The tree house collapsed and the sister survives. Once the brother escapes limbo he sees his sister burying him. He now knows that he is a ghost.

my version of the ending: the treehouse was set on fire. every tree is ruptured and black even in bright light, and that treehouse looks burned too. the ladder is made out of rope and wood, and the end it's missing. maybe because the fire got to it first. the boy and girl is shadowy too, you can't see them, so i can assume they burned too. through the game you see men who look like natives with spears and all. maybe they set the house on fire, and are chasing the kid cause they think he escaped.

Notice at the end there are glowing specs floating down above he girl, maybe symbolizing something like heaven, but at the very end, there aren't any, just two sets of flies, and a representation of time passing by the rotting of the ladder,

I think he is really dead, and the achievement Death has no sense, the one where you have to end the game with 5 deaths or less, give that hint to me.
Death has no sense or meaning, because he is already dead, so clearly he will reach the end nonetheless and all those deaths are his suffering for not seeing his sister, and to meet with her sooner, he has to accept that fact so he can be with her.

The boy you played as was a ghost, the girl is your sister and found you dead in limbo so she did a respectful honor and barried you, she stood up cause she heard a noise, but she nevers sees you. then time goes on and the ending at the end is what you see. I'll offer what I think of the ending. I think they're both dead, (which explains the two sets of flies) and a long period of time passed (which explains the rotting ladder). I'm not too sure what the girl was doing there, but I have a feeling it was something like finding her and her brother's body (maybe they died because they were in a forest fire or lost in the woods together) and coming to terms with the fact they are both dead. After that, they were able to move on to (hopefully) heaven.
