@jameswray50 Wrong way. Tier 1 (Devgru/SF-DD or whatever Delta is called now) is higher than Tier 2 (Seals, PJ's, MARSOC, Special Forces, etc.) and Tier 1 units recruit from Tier 2 units. I believe units on the level with Rangers are Tier 3.

Learned more in an academy in early 1991 interestingly when Ollie North testified to congress why he had such an elaborate security system installed in his home, he made reference to Osama bin Laden but congressional leaders dismissed it as paranoia.

Yes, BUPERS officially closed the US Navy Reserve route to BUD/S in 2006 and is still closed. The USN has not updated all their sites to reflect this chang though. As far as I know, it is still open for SWCC candidates and possibly Coast Guard Reserve Candidates.

Call: 888-USN-SEAL and they will confirm Reservists from the Navy is closed for attending BUD/S.

Why would they let BUD/S be open to Coast Guard Reserve and not Navy Reserve candidates. That does not make sense to me. Man if that was the case they probably have BUD/S open to like NEX and commissary employees or bowling alley staff.lol...j/k

Of course you can as an active reservist. When you're in training you're on active duty status and you have to serve at least 4 years active commitment before you can be A Navy Seal reservist on drill status(weekends,etc.).
