Cool video. I just bought a 2008 M5 after also considering the new CTS-V and after owning a 2007 CTS-V for 3 years. The build quality is the biggest difference. The BMW is much tighter and solid, even over the new V. The new V is quicker and faster, but doesn't behave as well and doesn't ride as well. It is a close call. If you want better performance, by a smidge, then I think you buy the V. If you want awesome performance, a sweet interior and a real solid ride feel, then the Bimmer.
Why would someone put comfort seats in an M5?The M seats have all the functions the comfort seats have+look much better and suit the car much more.And the comfort seats don't have the active side bolster like the M seats.
My opinion is that they don't even offer the seats as an option on this car,its more like a downgrade than an upgrade.
This car is not built for mama boys, all M series are built for TRUE car enthusiasts who want the power and handling. Ones who don't bitch about jerky shifts or over the top settings for personalizing every aspect of the car. In my world my dream car would have that and more.. I love cars, BMWs being so incredibly over engineered, their M series is nothing more then perfect. BMW should make a commercial "M series NOT for pussies" M is about handling and performance not comfort.
My uncle just bought this car last month... I drove it once and it was awesome, i couldn't feel the road, it was like flying... i love this car i wish it was mine, it runs so smoothly <3
You buy a car like that for performance and thats just another problem with BMW and its not the ultimate sedan, what about the Mercedes
Benz S65 AMG? thats fast? and the M5 foes 0-60 in 4.3 or 4.7 seconds and the SMG doesnt stink its way better to just keep shifting i know a person who didnt ghave any problems with the SMG transmission

@azn567 the v-10 actually has been out 5 years..production started in 2005 just made as 2006 model. so hes not far off, The new model should hit the market early next year. expect it to be v-8 twin turbo close to 600hp, and it will smoke the cts-V.

i drive is amazing. it makes the bmw much better to use and much more convenient. I dont know about you but id rather have an idrive then a million buttons for all the technology the car has
