  • Wow. Very cool!

  • So awesome! What an experience!!

  • Incredible!! Lots of people make signs but never get noticed - def a dream come true :)

  • that's amazing, one night you'll NEVER forget.

  • incredible man, you got some cojones! great editing on the video too, what an experience!

  • Wow, i so wish i could have been there on stage with the BNL! Good for you mate, lucky lucky man!

  • @tmfcovers I'm pretty sure they can't both be used, but I'm not 100% sure of the reason. I think it may be because both guys use guitar wireless. I suspect that since each of them would normally never use more than one guitar at a time, they would each only have one receiver with both Acoustics and electrics on that frequency (why buy two receivers for each of them?). So without resetting the wireless pack on one of his guitars to Kevin's frequency, the two guitars would conflict.

  • @TheHYPO Ok, that does make sense. It certainly would save a bit of money to only buy one receiver, especially since they´re most likely using Shure UR series wireless (that´s something I´d expect you to know), and that series is very expensive. So that doesn´t really have anything to do with their PA system, rather with their wireless systems.

  • @tmfcovers Probably, but I'm not 100%.

  • @TheHYPO Right. Shure´s website says they use the UR series wireless, but they don´t specify for what. From that, we can be sure that Kevin´s (and Steve´s) wireless microphones have UR wireless, but they don´t say anything specifically about guitar wireless. For all we know, they could be using Line 6 or Sennheiser or Carvin for their guitars.

  • @tmfcovers I don't think the brand they use changes the discussion, but in 2001, Steve used a Nady wireless guitar system, and Ed a Shure UHF U4D wireless system. At some later point, Both used a Shure UHF U4D wireless system. Ed switched to U14D wireless at some point. At the time of the U4Ds, they used U24D vocal wireless.

  • Wow!

Tyler I am SO happy for you. What an experience!

Sharing this with non-BNL fans to explain why our band is so amazing. :)

  • I'm at a lose for words.

    Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome man. Great job. It would be one of my dreams as well. Congrats.

  • @jzancan Oh, and what did your sign say?

  • Another example of why this is my favorite band. :) Great job, Tyler!

  • Holy wah! I am so excited for you. Living the dream of every BNL fan - how freakin exciting! Congrats man. The Ladies are the absolute best guys around.

  • The sign worked! Great job!

  • Holy shit... You are the luckiest BNL fan in the history of the world. You got to play onstage with them, you got to play Ed´s $10,000 Taylor, you got them to sign your sign... Holy shit...

  • @tmfcovers Not that it's overly relevant to the experience, but he played Kevin's late-90s Taylor W10 which is probably worth at most 3,000, and some go for under 2,000. There's a more recent one (nearer to Ed's early 2000s model) which is on ebay right now buy-it-now for 2400. And a 2001 model on a private site listed for 2000 even.

Only Ed's PS10 had a sticker price even close to 10k

  • @TheHYPO Oh, that´s what I thought it was. I couldn´t see it that well, but I saw the lack of pickguard, and thought it was the PS10 (I only know that thanks to you and your website). Either way, it´s an amazing guitar and a ridiculously amazing experience. Lucky bastard... :)

  • @tmfcovers Because of the way the band's audio system is set up, I'm not 100% sure Ed's acoustic and electric channels can both be on at the same time (in fact, I'm more confident that they can't than they can). In any event, I'd suspected for a while that if they ever had someone pop in on guitar, it would have to be on Kevin's channel. And for that reason it only makes sense to use kevin's guitar, which is set up on that channel.

  • @TheHYPO Why wouldn´t they both be able to be on? Don´t Ed and Kevin use direct boxes for their acoustics instead of sending them to their amps? In that case, I see no reason why they couldn´t have both channels on simultaneously. I´m sure the EQ settings would be significantly different between acoustic and electric, so they´d have to be on separate channels for that, unless there´s something I´m missing. Please, enlighten me. I´m absolutely fascinated by this stuff.
