@Dansz71sierra the cheapest way for bolt on HP. you can gain quite a bit from them. i dont have them on my 97 350 vortec sierra yet, but ive heard of gains of as much as 30 extra hp. in some cases,you might lose a little bit of torque at low or top end, the the extra hp makes up for it, plus with the torque yours already has, you probably wouldn't ever notice that little bit gone anyway. what ratio is your rear end?mine is a 3.73 but i destroyed my dif. and had to get a new one

@mgs19901 chances are it is your cat's. I have 6inch wide dual stack's on my 2008 silverado and it has the 5.3 V-8 in it. I have yet to have a problem, and I still have the factory cat's in it.

@mgs19901 yes. it dosent have enough back pressure and it will screw up you valves. you might want to try to find a programmer and disable your o2 sensors then you can just get rid of everything and run exhaust the way you want it.

I guess it also depends on where ya live too. I have a 2008 silverado with the 5.3 in it. Cut the muffler off, and have dual 6inch wide stacks on it. Only got pulled over once, but I argued the shit out of the cop& he relented& let me go. After that, no more problem's, whether it be with state troopers, or town cop's. It can naver be too loud!! Your truck sounds bad ass too!

depending on weather or not your o2 sensors are behind the cat or not , if you cut off the cats it can cause the vehicle to not run right and drive your fuel mileage right down the shitter, but if your o2 sensors are on the engine side of the cats the only thing it usually does is reduce back psi

if you true strait pipe it its really bad on your engine- no back pressure

just take the cat out and put a new muffler on and shorten the exhaust and have it come out before the tire

you don't want backpressure, you want velocity so that means piping not too big or small and a free flowing muffler and cat if you want to run cats; i think you should always run some type of muffler, a glasspack if you have one cat and a real muffler like a Dynomax Ultralfo or Magnaflow if you run no cats but if you have more than 1 cat on each pipe then those will be fine, i just hate the trailer park sounding cackly sound which is why i love fairly loud and very deep sounding mufflers

Diamiter of exhaust tubing or inches of lift? The exhaust is 21/4 and it has 5" of lift. The tires in the video are 285's but those are my winter tires a have 305's for the summer and im soon to be getting 35's
