  • This is an all around great looking coaster. I'm working on my own now. I have two main questions. First, how did you figure out the angles to get the cart to roll back over the second hump, trial and error or math? Second did you have to heat the pvc at all to bend it. Thanks in advance.

  • me next i wanna ride!

  • How the hell is the top comment about life bearing planets....

  • that would probably be fun if i was a little child

  • Damn, this is pretty neat for a small backyard thrill ride.

  • I made it out of scraps of plywood and oak tread.

  • @mcahan02 i got your design off the website you got it posted on...and i will tell you it takes alot of work ,time and money to do the job and design you did...because i am trying to build the same one for my little boy...illl try to post some video when its done..much respect for you and your rollercoaster. thanks.

  • Very cool : )

Oh well....at least i had a space hopper and a pair of wobbly four wheel skates lol

  • If i had this thiing in my yard. i would be on it all day all night :D

  • @spongepoop1 It's called an airplane.

  • That's not a UFO, its a Southwest 737 flying into Burbank Airport. UFO's do not exist. :-)

  • @mcahan02 How do you know ?

  • @mcahan02

It's a flying object, and he couldn't identify it. Thus, UFO.

  • @mcahan02 ummm their are billions of stars, solar systems and planets out there that we havn't even seen yet, chances are atleast there is at least 1 other life bearing planet out there

  • I don't think that God would make the same mistake twice! :-)

  • @mcahan02 ... UFO's exist i wish you would think like a great mind THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES and what if GOD didnt make the earth! then thats fair as u saying there are no UFO's then i say there is no god :-) SO BELIVE

  • @mcahan02 there is no god.

  • @exkuhpid in your Belief.

  • @MrDBIJOU true, it's a hard life, 11 years old and i still have to put up with my classmates going on and on about that stuff,i once kicked a door and a kid named jose( not amaracan) told the teacher i kicked god.

  • @mcahan02 :-)

  • @mcahan02 maybe god isn't real.... ooooohhh burn

  • @mcahan02 Lol if aliens don't exist than God doesn't either...oh WAIT, God DOESN'T exist, but aliens sure do (= they come from different countries and I'm sure that in the millions of other universes there IS other life forms.

  • @mcahan02 Hehe it wasent a mistake we were made he had to make us so chuck noris could thrive

  • @transformerskid567 fasho, same amount of stars in the universe as grains of sand on earth. each star holds lets say average 3 planets. we got a shit load of life

  • @mcahan02 UFO's do exist remember it means Unidentified Flying Object meaning you could see a plane and not know what it is and call it a ufo it makes sense

  • @mcahan02 UFO's do exist, but not in the way many people think, UFO means Unidentified Flying Object, this was not one, as it is a 737, although if you did'nt knew what it was, it would be unidentified, being a UFO, I'm sorry for being a geek xD

  • @mcahan02 Well if he didn't know what it was, it was a ufo. At least to him.

  • @mcahan02 WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!! OF COARSE THEY DO! THEIR UNIDENTIFIED, NOT ALIENS........ D:

    everyone does that..... *grumble* >.>

  • @mcahan02 UFO's Do exist. If you see something tin the air and you do not know what it is, it is an unidentified flying object, a UFO.

  • @halation777 True!!!!!!!!! :P

  • Great, thanks. Another old disco song I had to go download

  • hey! a ufo at 0:37

  • Amazing. Great job man!

  • good idea using christmas lights to light the track!

  • aww all her lil friends must always come over huh?

  • @spongepoop1 omg ur right lol i see it!

  • Very cool AND cute to watch. OH YA!! and the lights at night?!?! GREAT IDEA!!

  • jh sgsdtsddshscsgsksbvcuyfsccsgfcbvhsssshvsuscsffsgsdshhvsfshsfsgfshsgsfsgsg

  • @DanielChristy19 Thanks Daniel...I heard the same thing. I see below a heating pad is an option too ... I can't believe I'm making a roller coaster. I'm 42. But how cool is that?

  • that is amazing x

  • Awww Shes so cute! And how much did it cost?

  • @bumbleberry77 About $300.00 with treated posts.

  • @mcahan02 your a good father mate. this is the shit she will remember when she grows up. :)

  • My Turn :) ox

  • What a cute little girl on a cute little roller coaster.Dad should have gone to engineering school.

  • @HattieLovesCattie Dad should have finished engineering school.

  • @mcahan02 This made me lol so hard. How comes it cost that much to build such a small thingy ? 300$ is alot IMO but still awesome.

  • Because I used treated redwood posts to hold her up, things are almost 10.00 each, but they won't rot away over time.

  • this amazing!!

  • Airtime hill! Lololol love it!

  • awesome

  • very talented!!! can you come build one for my kids!

  • i would have no idea how to build one.

  • thats cool

  • that is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool only if it where bigger

  • oh my god!!! that is amazing!!!

  • Did the pvc naturally bend or did you have to heat it? Didn't see that on your projects page - which by the way is insane how you built that playhouse - you're obviously a pro builder, eh? Can't really knock that one out in a weekend. Great stuff.

  • It natually bends as it is 1 1/2" pvc pipe. If I used 2" then I would have needed some heat. I'm no pro builder but enjoy doing projects such as these in my spare time. The link for the rollercoaster should be on my projects page I will check it.

    Nice Shitzu dogg, haha.

  • @mcahan02 Nice. Not sure if I can send a pic of my track section I'm working on through youtube but ... same principle as yours ... bending pvc might be an issue for me though as I want it to go around my playstructure - tighter radius. I think a standard heat gun should work though. Love the Christmas lights too ... makes it Space Mountain-like.

  • @sm57co I've never done any projects like these, but as an apprentice electrician, we used a heating pad to wrap around the pvc, heat, then bend. Will give you a more even distribution of heat. Doesn't take much!

  • @citizenbunnie hey thanks citizenbunnie. A normal heating pad, like for a sore back? Wow that does seem simple. I'm guessing not too many folks have done projects like this. It's now becoming less about my kids and something I need to make just to say I have a roller coaster in my backyard. Is it much harder to bend 2" versus 1.5" ... or am I getting a little carried away?

  • @mcahan02 started building .... one last thing. When you are drilling the pvc to the inside supports, I noticed you said to drill a hole on the outside of the pipe to fit your screwdriver in ... don't you get water buildup at all from those little holes on the sides? Did you plug them up at all?

  • @sm57co You don't need to worry about water buildup because the holes are drilled at 90 degrees to the ground so only a small amount of water will ever enter the holes and because the pvc has lots of these holes the water can evaporate. You could always drill the holes in a slight angle to help keep water from entering but it really isn't a problem. What is more important is that you use 2" or longer coated deck screws, not zinc that will rot away.

  • @mcahan02 perfect. Thanks!

  • Awesome... great cart. And LIGHTS! Just like Space Mountain. What a lucky kid to have this.

  • I wish I had on of these when I was a kid

  • very Smoth i like

  • wow at night it looks amazing, great job

  • awsome!!! how do you make it

  • lol I know this is a noob question how do you bend wood or PVC pipe?

  • how do you build one?

  • See my projects page at cahans-dot-com/projects.

  • Would be awesome if this had some booster wheels to make it go over more than once ^^

  • Not sure what you mean by booster wheels, but its good exercise pushing it up to the top.

  • @mcahan02 Rubber wheels on a motor that force the car up and down the track after the initial drop, thus creating a continuous ride and a breaking system :)

  • @mcahan02 I thunk he means sime type of tire system and controls

  • thats pretty kool

  • Amazing job, that looks incredible!

  • Love it!!

  • probably the best backyard roller coaster on youtube

  • sooooo coool

  • WOW now thats cool

  • u should like go out to a farm and just build a monster one starting on top of a hill. thats what im doing this winter.. building a Winter Sled Coaster.

  • i thought this would be crap, but i was amazed when i saw it! its great! a lovely toy for your child!

  • we need a pov plz

  • Wow, this is awesome! Respect! How did you bend the tubes? Is PVC pipe that flexible or did you have to heat it?

    Thumbs up ;)

  • The 1 -1/2" I used is flexible enough to make the bends so no heat necessary.

  • That was awesome I pay for that NO joke

  • LOL THE LIGHT ARE SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if i had one i would ride it all day (no joke)

  • THATS AWESOME DUDE! YOU HAVE INSPIRED ME!

  • i looks really pretty at night!?

  • nice XD

  • how smooth are theese and are you building a new one any time soon coaster addict

  • With roller blade wheels made of urethane rolling on pvc pipe they are smoother then the roller coasters at the amusement park.

  • Aww!! Shes so cute! I want to build one of these for my niece! I'm only 11 but I understand the concept on how to build one. :) This is one of the best I've seen on youtube!

  • looks super smooth...simple but effective !

  • I Love It But Designed by you Give Credit Where Its Due Thats my design U Got it from me But What ever U Made it Perfect !!!

  • I've seen your videos, although I would like to give you credit, I actually got the idea from another video I saw on you tube. It was a pvc coaster made with 2" pvc with the track running down a mountain with rollerblades screwed to the bottom of the cart. Yours however looks better although I would have tried to make the cart a little nicer. If you need any tips or have any you would like to share, shoot me an email. I look forward to seeing your new coaster with curves!

  • @RollerCoasteraddict your coaster wasnt the first or by far the best... so in no way at all is any credit to you...

  • @BrettJonesCD check the dates on the vids and learn number!!!

  • what did you use for wheels?

  • 76mm rollerblade wheels, a total of twelve wheels.

  • pov?

  • im just wondering, how much did it cost you to build it?

  • It cost about $300.00

  • gr8 work!

  • Awesome. Does she just scoot herself to make it move?

  • that was AWESOME!!!!!

the x-mas lights made it soooo much cooler (:

  • nice work, i think the lights one the rollercoaster spoil it though,

  • disko without the spinning! woot!

    looks fun :D

    POV pl0x?

  • building one for my kids. What type of PVC did you use? white schedule 40 or grey? Solid core or foam? Did you have to heat to bend (stuff seems pretty rigid)?

  • I used black PVC with grey electrical couplers grinded down slightly to fit inside. No heat needed to bend 1 1/2" PVC. Cross ties are 2x2" instead of 2x4" so less holes drilled into side of PVC pipe for smoother operation. 2" coated deck screws were used and screwed in through a 3/8" hole that was drilled through one side of PVC.

  • Aww, she looks kinda like Annie in the movie "Annie"

  • Awesome, how long did this take?

  • It took a couple weekends.

  • Realy nice work with the lights.

  • omg that is amazing

  • wow!!

  • awesome! 10/5!

  • Purely amazing, great job. It nice and smooth!

  • I want to make one!

  • That is too freaking cool!

  • way to go DADDY

  • what a great coaster - nice job!

  • thats incredibly smooth! i want one too... ...but i dont have a big enough garden :( great1!

  • Finally! A pretty decent coaster! Great Job.

  • @TheCoasterViews Thanks! It was fun to build.
