pearse was very left wing , his earliest political work was for womens rights . His political pamphlets - The Sovereign Poeple , Murder Machine etc were all very progressive and left wing. He was frmly on the side of the workers and bitterly angry against all who oppressed them , whether British or Irish capitalist . Sadly the Irish right tried to claim him while the Irish left dismissed him , both completely misrepesenting him . Both are absolutely useless and not fit to tie his shoes
