I really like how you play without a backing track and still keep the groove going even when only playing a few notes. That's not easy! Great job! : )
@profwaldo Thank you for the thoughtful comment. Point taken about the lyrics. I think I'll start including them in the description More section. Thanks for taking a listen! Best wishes, Trina
Cool song T! Really nice plucky neck pickup, and the vibratoed two-pickup lead sounds like Slim Harpo stingin' it on "King Bee" - except you're doing it all with your hands, no amp tremolo needed. Enjoyed it!
@bigsbytracks Thanks bigsby! I apperciate you taking the time to listen and leave such thoughtful comments. I'm not familiar with the 'King Bee' song but I've got to go check it out now. : ) Best, T
Nice...! Tnanks for the song....Great feel and tone...Im a sucker for p90's and tweed amps....keep playing...thanks for all the vids !! Love that 50's clean tone
Would be neat to see the lyrics pop up before you sing them..Ever since I saw Sean (thanks to that Dan tribute vid) workin' those 90s I've wanted to snatch a 54 or 56..AND YOU'VE GOT ONE !! I wish I had your voice and your song writing skills T. Keep givin' us INSPIRATION to pick up the wood Girl!
@steven21042 I think of Sean Costello every time I pick up this guitar. A true INSPIRATION to me. Thank you for watching my videos and being so supportive. Your commentary always makes me smile! : ) Best, Trina
Yes, Sean Costello is a true inspiration. I'd love to play just HALF as good as he played. He is in a very small group of lost musicians that I truly miss.
@intrsoul Thank you! When time permits, possibly in the fall, I'd love to record some of these little songs. I have a lot of fun doing them. Thanks for stopping by! : ) Take care, T
whoo, that is really good, what a combination,, this is one of your best ones.. you dont need any back up or pedals or band or anythin,, tops,, so where in the heck did you get that tweed champ?,, what tone,, like strother martin said in the western movie (the ballad of cable hogue, talking about cars) "i seen one once in wichita",, actually tjat is where i saw an old tweed champ like that but he wouldnt sell it,, this gotta be your best so far,,, cheers , jimmy
@jamesraymondsmith Thanks for the positive words Jimmy! I bought the '59 Tweed Champ a few years ago from Chris' Guitars. A tech here in VA tuned it up for me a few years ago and it's been a joy ever since. It's a great amp for sitting around singing and playing. Best wishes, Trina
I am feeling it girl! I am lementing starting work after a nice long weekend! Plugging any guitar strait into the Champ is my favorite. The R4 soundsfab through it as well! Comes across the "2oob" great! Thanks! Ken
@tenorbanjoguy The end of long summer weekend is cruel, so I thought it was perfect for the day. LOL I think most of us would rather be playing guitar! LOL Your videos are awesome btw! Best wishes, Trina
That must really something to have those amps. They all have a certain different feel to them that inspire something unique. The same goes for guitars and all other instruments. Steinway's are notorious for this. That is a really good song. I have a Scully 280-8; the same recorder used for Bostons More Than a Feeling and LZ Whole lotta Love. I wonder what you would sound like on that? Huh? Hmmmm? What?
@analyzingfunny I think the '59 Champ and the R4 go really well with each other. I think it's the midrange or something. All I know is that it's a fun combo. LOL
@StowBurst Thanks Stow! How have you been? I know what you mean about it sounding very Les Paul. This guitar has a really nice soft pleasing tone. Cheers, T
