Anyone keeping up with the New F-15? They made the damn Eagle a stealth Fighter! F-15 Silent Eagle, or F-15SE is the Stealth Variant of the the F-15E. Inboard weapon bays, improved electronic package, even the famous radar absorbing paint. Looks sweet and puts the Eagle back in the ring with today's ever growing Stealth Fighter Fleets.

When I maintained the Eagle A&B models, word was that it would take 2mins & 1sec for one to accelerate from a brakes off, engines in zone 5 augmentor, to 20,000 feet, pitch down to level flight only to discover that there was no more fuel! Oh, I believe that was with no external tanks.
I am posting this comment because I can't stand the terminology error that I see being repeated throughout videos of the F-15/16 aircraft with respect to the engines. In both, the engine/s are turbofans, NOT turbojets, and they DO NOT have afterburners. Turbojets do. The F-15/16 engine/s have an AUGMENTOR. There is VERY MAJOR engineering differences between the two, which is too in depth to explain in this media.
I have no idea what the relevance is in your comment but alittle FYI...the concorde has many fans (still) here in good ole Yankland. I'm one of them.Have you ever thought of the maintenance and accommodations that went with the concorde though? That being said its still a sorely missed aircraft.
The video is only 22 seconds long because at 23 seconds the cockpit warning system was announcing "BINGO FUEL" and at 25 seconds the engines shut down.

@DIRK1015 I've been following the PAC-FA for a while, but there is very little unclassified data to make any real comparison, but it "probably" will be better than the F-15. The PAC-FA won't have high production numbers for... 20+ years, based on previous new planes entering service. So it won't be a challenge until 2030 at the very least. I doubt the F-15 is going to be upgraded much further in the coming decades since the F-22 and F-35 are replacing it.

Listen everybody. F15 has the best record of any fighter ever made. Untill that record gets beat it remains that. The f22 is the only aircraft to actually beat the f15 easy during test fights. That means America has the best 2 fighter jets in the world. Maybe 3 with the f16
The flanker could fight evenly with the F-15, the Superflankers are built in far too few numbers, the Su-47 is only a test aircraft, Mig 35 is only a prototype, and the t-50 is stealth but the F-15's radar can detect stealth aircraft
The F-14 Tomcat was and even though retired, still is, much superior to the F-15. Politics is the only reason it was retired, since both the -18 and the -15 are older.

I have spoken to many who know combat aircraft and they all will tell you that the F-15 is the greatest fighter in the U.S. arsenal. I liked Top Gun too. Not saying the F-14 was a bad aircraft. EF Typhoon, etc, most of our allies fly these things. Most of the planes you listed are either experimental or have not been combat tested. Russia or China hasn't put out a creditable plane in the last 50 years that hasn't been demolished by other countries, so to think their "new" versions will be superior is hard to believe.

F-18's have been shot down before, but that was back in 1991, many improvements have been made since then, but the F-18 is not a super common fighter in the world, so combat data is pretty limited to bombing runs and training events with allied fighters. Either way, only allies use the F-18.
@TheGamezshak Not true. They were originally designed for Air-to-Air, but all US Fighters are used for bombing primarily. There hasn't been much Air-to-Air combat in the last 20 years. During the 1st Gulf War, 4,000+ sorties was flown by the F-18, only 2 or 3 was for Air-to-Air, nearly all were for bombing. Even MiG-21s they did encounter, they were on bombing runs and were intercepted by enemy fighters, not only did they shoot them down, they completed their "original" mission of bombing.
@TheGamezshak Same thing as I told lvlast3er, the F-18 is not a perfect combat record holder and data is limited. If I'm not mistaken, during Red Flag the F-15D beat the F-18 numerous times, but I'm not 100% certain on this.

One 2010 F-15D could take down five 1976 F-15s, yet both look the same. So while a F-15 from Israel may look the same as an F-15 from the United States, their capabilities are not.

@schopper456 Actually the f15 already whiped out the Mig, it wouldnt not go against the f16 because it is the same team, Eurofighter might have a chance, and I dont know about su27, I heard it has problems.. So maybe 2 jets out of what you said.

@sadekgheidan No buddy, it has never been shot down. It doesnt matter what you get shot down by that goes in the record. Im sure they wouldnt count birds and rocks getting in the engine but thats about it..

@sepuko MiG 29 - No way. MiG 35/Su-35 - Maybe, Su-37 - Not even a production plane yet, same for 47. Su-50 - experimental, I don't know much about it though. EF Typhoon, etc, most of our allies fly these things. Most of the planes you listed are either experimental or have not been combat tested. Russia or China hasn't put out a creditable plane in the last 50 years that hasn't been demolished by other countries, so to think their "new" versions will be superior is hard to believe.

@IvIast3er Eh, I don't really know for sure. F-18's have been shot down before, but that was back in 1991, many improvements have been made since then, but the F-18 is not a super common fighter in the world, so combat data is pretty limited to bombing runs and training events with allied fighters. Either way, only allies use the F-18.

@TheGamezshak Not true. They were originally designed for Air-to-Air, but all US Fighters are used for bombing primarily. There hasn't been much Air-to-Air combat in the last 20 years. During the 1st Gulf War, 4,000+ sorties was flown by the F-18, only 2 or 3 was for Air-to-Air, nearly all were for bombing. Even MiG-21s they did encounter, they were on bombing runs and were intercepted by enemy fighters, not only did they shoot them down, they completed their "original" mission of bombing.

@TheGamezshak Same thing as I told lvlast3er, the F-18 is not a perfect combat record holder and data is limited. If I'm not mistaken, during Red Flag the F-15D beat the F-18 numerous times, but I'm not 100% certain on this.

@tbielen Other countries are our allies. Most people forget the "look" of a plane is only a part of it's ability, the internal combat systems is what makes the plane. One 2010 F-15D could take down five 1976 F-15s, yet both look the same. The U.S. exports "base" models, which is true to include most of the American specs, but the U.S. keeps in most classified systems for themselves. So while a F-15 from Israel may look the same as an F-15 from the United States, their capabilities are not.

Estimates show that the US is 30-40+ years ahead every nation on this earth in military aircraft tech. That's 30-40 years. @mazafuka I'm no expert on space. I do know spacecraft and military aircraft aren't the same. Booster rockets and military engines aren't the same, military avionics and space flight trajectory aren't the same, list goes on. You're lumping them together because they both "fly." I assumed you were just biased against the F-15, which is OK, everyone has their opinions, now I think you are just uniformed. US has had working "stealth" since 1981, no one else has a "working" product and it's 2011.
