  • fiddles are one of my favorite instruments

  • does any one know what kind of dress she is wearing? i love it!

  • what I love most is that the song itself tells a story. the first part is the stately, organized hunt, the second a wild, feverish scramble through the woodsXD

  • Sorry *Tampa to see them

  • @KeikoKameko Wow same here! I went to theStrazCenter For the Performing Arts in Tampatosee them.

  • My parents took me to go see this show for my birthday. It was AMAZING!!

  • @KeikoKameko Wow, nice present! I wouuld have paid anything to see a magnificent performance like this.

  • @KeikoKameko me too

  • I am just so amazed that she can dance in high heels all around the stage will still being awesome!! Mairead is the best ever!

  • She is the Kristin Chenoweth of Ireland. But with a fiddle. =D

  • imagine if she had an amp cord plugged into the violin...

  • @CaptainIronhelm She uses a wireless mic(visible at times) mounted to the violin's tailpiece. You can see the mic transmitter in pockets sewn on the back of her dress. You're right, dancing around the stage with a big cord hanging out of the violin would cause a few problems!!

  • @TripBoomLikeThat rofl indeed

  • In her blog, Mairead tells of a native American lady who blessed her violin and named her "Little Running Fox". There appears to be a lot of "foxhunters" on Youtube these days....

  • she is fun to watch and is my favorite of celtic woman

  • wow...this is what u call perfection

  • I swear, she gets better with every concert. I didn't think perfection could be improved upon, but once again she has prove that wrong.

  • Mairead is my violinist hero! I tried spinning while playing violin, and it's hard. I love the name 'The Foxhunter'. XDD

  • The fiddle faerie is back! This gal is amazing... three cheers for Mairead!

  • Is she really sing? Too good to be true.

  • O my gosh. I wondered why sounded familiar. Then I realized--- It's my ringtone. But it called "Mountain Kid"!

  • She's as metal as Slayer.

  • The way she moves, it's like she's posing for a picture at every second

  • I can't wait til Feb 15. Tickets go on sale Wed. I don't care how much they cost, I'm getting 2. I love watching these ladies. I'm still a die hard rocker though, but I love this stuff.

  • :O 3:41, that is so sad!! Am I the only teenager watching this??

  • @Arnetsew No, you're not!! :) I'm 15 and I love Celtic Woman... Mairead is amazing here!! But my fav is Lisa Kelly, without any doubt.!! I always cry when I listen to them...how is it possible that our generation listens to David Guetta and not to this???

  • @Arnetsew Not at all ;) I'm 18 and I know quite some teens who listen to them and go to their concerts. It's probably that the older people can best afford tickets.

  • Those of us who are lucky enough to attend CW concerts like to count how many times Mairead spins while playing. She seems to have a maximum of nine spins, as I counted nine a few weeks ago at her Christmas performance of Granuaile's Dance. I sometimes wonder with all her energy that if she does more than nine spins, she will explode :) .

  • O_O

How does she not get dizzy spinning around that much?! I'd upchuck!

  • @3P1CWarMonkey I'm not exactly sure how she's doing it. Usually you focus on a fixed object and come back to it as you're spinning...what amazes me even more is that the her spinning doesn't cause her bow to loose contact with her violin. I've tried spinning as well while playing the violin, and it is not easy. :)

  • This is really fun and good

  • personally i just love how she dances while perfectly playing the whole thing.

  • Difficult level:

    Easy

    Medium

    Hard

    Chuck Norris

    Máiréad Nesbitt!

  • Máiréads shithot she is the pride o Loughmore county Tipperrary no doubt.

    MÁIRÉAD GO BRAGH!!!!

  • I can feel her enery, she's always fully charged!

  • Her beauty is only outdone by her amazing talent.

  • That was absolutely captivating

  • She simply must be a changeling, she's so faerie-like. I love her energy and her playing,s he's truly amazing.

  • And ... little running fox.

  • Dear YouTube, I DEMAND THAT YOU PUT TWO MORE BUTTONS ON HERE!!!

A "HOPELESSLY IN LOVE" BUTTON AND A "HOPELESSLY OBSESSED" BUTTON!!!

    RIGHT NOW!!!

    BECAUSE I AM BOTH!!!

  • I love how they play spoons in a couple of their songs, when i tried it at home it didn't work out so well for me lol :) go celtic woman you rule

  • It sounds very similar to Granualie's Dance.

  • @bluewater174 i believe they are similar

  • @bluewater174 They are only vaguely similar. The two pieces are very different and while both are outstanding, this one is most distinct and quite stunning. I can't wait to hear it live with my own ears while in the audience.

  • @1sorryham You wont be disappointed i was at this taping but i was way up in the nose bleed section

  • @bluewater174 If you listen to several Irish music pieces, you'll notice a LOT of similarities! And keep in mind that Irish music has some roots in improvisation :)

  • SHE SENT CHARLIE DANIELS DOWN TO GEORGIA WITH A BROKEN EGO,CHARLIE AND THE DEVIL ARE BEST FRIENDS NOW....

  • @The44601 no kidding saw the two of then drinking away there shame together

  • She is so freaking talented! Whenever I hear her I just want to skip around the house(which I do)

It's almost impossible to dislike her. Celtic Woman in general is amazing. It's REAL music, not music that requires a computer to sound good.

  • she is talented, but, if you like this kind of music and this style of playing look in your own back yard and try Allison Krauss or any other bluegrass fiddeler. You'd be suprised how well and how long bluegrass players have been around.

  • @GrayrockD23518...If you knew the history of bluegrass you would know that it started with the Irish and Scots that moved to America and settled in the mountains of the east..The mountains there reminded them of the home they left...

  • @gaeilge1O1 I'd be very, very interested if Mairead would, on her next Video Messege to her fans, if she'd show how her violin is wired up for sound. Does she mic her violin herself or a tech guy?? If a techy was wiring up MY 300 year old violin, I'd be hanging over his shoulder watching EVERY move he made! LOL

  • @MegaBarbaranne..Mairead's violin never leaves her presence...A tech does the wiring..the type of mic has changed over the years...but the mic is mounted "behind" the bridge and the "wire" runs from there to the transmitter at the back of her dress...

  • @gaeilge1O1

You are absolutely right. And, I am proud to say, that I am from the mountains of the east where bluegrass is played. I am also happy that the Irish came to this area, or we would not have such beautiful music or heritage.

  • Germany is waiting for the tour and DVD

  • @watteins hab schon Karten für das Konzert im Juni in München!! Und ich kanns kaum noch erwarten :) Ich war dieses Jahr schon auf ihrem Konzert in München, absolut fantastisch und unvergesslich!!!

  • My eyes nearly popped out during the 1.27!!!!

  • Eat your heart out, Yo Yo Ma! ;-) I understand why Mairead doesn't do two of these kinds of songs in a row: She'd spontaneously combust! Gotta love her!

  • I loved this! :D My brother and I were both dancing around the living room while watching this. :)

  • Amazing. However, after seeing her live, I find that these videos of her do no justice at all compared to how you see her in the flesh.

  • Comment removed

  • @dosplat Yup, Mairead can only be fully appreciated live, as she dances and literally flies across the stage while not missing a note. I have seen her live three times (with a fourth coming in a couple of weeks), and she has amazed me each time. She is not just the "fairy" fiddler, she is the FLYING FAIRY FIDDLER!

  • @1sorryham All Hail the Flying Fairy Fiddler <3

  • i wish i could play a fiddle like she can do

  • @ 1:47 you could see me little sister :)

  • Ah,only thing I dislike about this is it's not long enough!lol

  • There simply isn't a better violinist/fiddler performer than The Fiddle Fairy. Take that thumbs Down button and toss it away for this one!

  • amazing, simply wonderful!

  • Beautiful!!! Wow...
