i'm 12 and i collect those brick phones!! (saving up for a motorola 8000x) dont ask me where i get the money from...my friends all think its a waste of money...i dont care! i've not seen this in years lol)
The year (this episode was produced) is 1987 and the model a Motorola 8000x. Does anyone use a mobile phone with buttons on it any more?
deadbee, 2095matt I think the number they are trying to call is now, as of 2011, 020 7246 8000 (as 01 was the old area code for London back in the 80's). I have done a search for that number on Google and it now connects to a switchboard for a legal firm...
Was 'Cellular Phone' a well known phrase in late 80s UK? I thought it was an American phrase and we always called them 'car phones' and later 'mobile phones'.
It's so cute when Sweep's talking to Soo using the baked bean can as a phone. Love the part where Sooty, Sweep and Soo call up different people on Matt's cellphone. It's so funny when Matt's talking to Sweep and Soo on the different cellphones and when Matt gets sent lots more cellphones :)
Good old 1980's British kids TV. Sweep was my favourite

@ilovegeorgeharrison4 you should sell them on ebay. Those vintage/retro items seem to sell high. =P

I agree, I don't remember 'Cellular Phone' being a well known phrase in the late 80s here in the UK.
