  • This disgusting Religion must be destroyed like all Religion. There is no place for it in a modern world. Barbaric followers.

  • Anyone else notice the advertisement for singlemuslim website beside this video? Oh the irony. :D

  • In Anticipation!

  • oh hell 2 to the jes

  • What is the point or objective of this series? Why would a skeptic want to watch it?

  • @JamesMorlan

    The video explains this.

  • @Lorientalist No, it doesn't.

  • @Lorientalist

Yes it does - the series will educate laymen as to the religion of Islam, in a critical manner; after watching this series, a laymen will have a broad understanding of the religion.

  • I'm looking forward to it

  • I look forward to this series. Finally, someone who can critically examine Islam without yelling about how they are going to "invade our country and bomb us all" or something

  • I can't wait. I know it is going to be good.

  • I just got done spreading your vid on twitter, and on some islam chat rooms.

  • This is exactly the sort of thing I've been wanting to see.

  • psl ppl stop pronouncing islam that way. everytime you say the a like that i die a little inside lol. the a is pronounced as in armageddon or argue or armory, NOT as in slam, ass, admit. Anglophones are language butcherers :D

  • @managarm1349 tomato tomato

  • @managarm1349 And it doesn't inspire much confidence in his ability to educate on the matter, when he doesn't even pronounce it correctly! You'd think that would be a good place to start!

  • @managarm1349

Actually, Arabic-speaking Muslims tell me that the "a" in Islam is like the "a" in "ram".

  • @Lorientalist

*ex-Muslims, sorry; not that it makes a difference; they grew up in Arabic speaking nations, so they surely know how to pronounce the word.

  • @Lorientalist إسلام islam. written with the letter alif. alif is spoken as a loooong a, therefore pronounced as mentioned. when the a is short, written as fatha above the consonent, some pronounce it slightly more as in "ram", but not as heavily as you do, and surely not if its an alif. listen to some arabic speakers by searching for إسلام or whatever.

  • @managarm1349 sry, consonAnt would be the right word. but apparently consonent is a word too :))

  • @managarm1349

I'm sorry, but after conferring with my Arabic-speaking friends (who grew up in Arabic-speaking countries and have spoken Arabic all of their life), I am going to disregard what you are saying.

Besides, given the mutually unintelligibly Arabic dialects that exist throughout the Greater Middle-East, the point is moot.

  • @Lorientalist alright then, cheers.

  • @managarm1349 Which dialect do you speak?

  • I am sure someone already asked but I cant find the info on your profile or blog. What music are you using for these and is it available somewhere?

Thanks for a very interesting series!

  • I liked the previous version of this series and look forward to the new one. The series gave me a good starting place to learn about Islam. Thanks for making them.

  • Very interesting.

  • why do you keep uploading this?

  • @SmallFries01

There were adjustments I had to make - this is the final version. When this video reaches 1000 views, I will begin uploading the rest of the series, new and improved.

  • @Lorientalist - "The new and improved Part 1 of The Life of Muhammad will only be uploaded once this video reaches 1000 views: .........."

Man, you are such a juvenile, manipulative, self-agrandising prick. You purport to inform and educate and yet it's all conditional.

    Disgraceful and Shameful!

    Time to unsubscribe!

Ps - On the J&T Show why don't you shut the fuck up and let other people speak?

  • Kling, I dont get why you say "Holy Texts" when you are sceptic

  • @kommissarw

For the same reason that you say "God" instead of "collective anthropomorphic delusion" - people understand what I mean.

  • @Lorientalist Good response.

When we sceptics use the word god, its generally as part of playing out the internal logic of belief systems until the flaws are revealed.

As a sceptic, as see using the word Holy as counter to scepticsm of the texts. I dont see thats its necessary to butter Muslims up in this way, & it can serve to drive away the bigots back to Pat Condell thinking "Nothing to see here" rather than hang about & get an education rubbing e-shoulders with Muslims & us.

  • Please do continue this series. I believe it will grow a strong following once you begin producing a few episodes. Oh where are my manners?

Allahu Akbar, I cast a fatwah upon you. o_~

  • Neat!

  • What a wonderful idea! I'll be there for the ride! Cheers, eh!

  • I really like your stuff! I'm excited.

  • Looking forward to it.

  • Thanks for the videos

  • Im sending this to Pat Condell as we speak ;)

  • This looks like it will be really interesting! I wonder how long it will take for the faithful to start whining on this thread...

  • @ritchloui - Japan was the first country to permanently ban slavery, China briefly did before Britain - not the 'West' found slavery repugnant and set about forcing other countries including Portugal, Brazil, Oman, Ottoman Empire...; However, I would also like to see a video on slavery and Islam - because I know a bit but I just want to know how Islam explains the equality under God with slavery (seems a little contradictory).

  • Looking forward to this :)

  • didnt you used to have that story of prophet muhammad uploaded once before??

    what was wrong with that?

  • @Moslem74275

You'll understand once you see the new series.

  • @Moslem74275

You'll understand once you see the new series; they're much better now.

  • Really looking forward to it! BTW I wonder if you might consider the central role of slavery in Islam. Where the secular West found slavery to be morally repugnant and was the first civilisation to seek to abolish it, Islam consecrates it as an essential part of their doctrine.

  • Glad to be a Naturalist. Quitting Islam is really healthy.

  • I'm looking forward to this

  • Opposite to the true believer's introduction to islam, which is typically parted hairy cheeks....
