rfactor is the best simulator, forza was never a self proclaimed "sim" i see it more as an arcade racer(like NFS). the ONLY people who argue over which is better are butthurt fanboys who's mommies only bought them either a PS3 or 360 for christmas. GT has 200 better looking cars(800 clone or lame). Forza has 400 good looking w/ interiors. Forza has better looking tracks and customization, sound. GT has superior physics, handling, bigger fanbase. Why argue? Be a real gamer and play both or GTFO
I think polyphony did brag to much about their 1000 cars to me. Because there is really to many variations of cars like how they got about 50 skylines and to many of their cars are from japan there's almost no muscle cars in the game

As I was a hardcore GT fan, now Im starting to doubt all of this, GT5 took six years in making and the cars sound horrible, the crash sequence is also very bad. The only positive side is the graphics and 1080p. Other than that Forza beats it hard.

@Jtz450 wow the only thing forza has is physical tire deformation mean you can see it. GT5 has all that real time tire deformation but you cant see it. For all you noobs, tire deformation is essentially the heat simulation of a tire and the friction caused by the inertia and the surface.
Lets face it.. Forza is and has always been a gran turismo clone made for the xbox... I've played em' all and while forza does offer a great alternative with better customizing options and what not. Gt has always had the edge in gameplay and realism (graphics and physics wise). Gt5 is not flawless however, with its annoying menu system, crummy online interface, ugly ass shadows.. And I've been waiting for them to put in a rw/ff feature in the repays since gt1!!!! Damnit!
ps3 fanboy alert. lol. no really gt5 and fm3 are both good games. gt5 has amazing graphics on their PREMIUM cars, fm3 has general good graphics on ALL their cars. Both have great physics engines, fm3 has real time tire deformation and gt5 has their track editor. I must say that fm3's cockpit view absoluty sucks balls and gt5's car sounds also suck balls. And gt5 have really messed up shadows, i hope they patch it up soon. I own both games so i know. Both are good!

400 cars, compared to Gran Turismo's 1031, 100 tracks, most of them made up with reused content in editing software in their studios, badly detailed and barely any based off the real world.

as far as the music I love the jazz. gt needs a decal system like forza. The scale of the races is better in gt5 because of the 16 car races but without regualating car class somehow you can almost always run away with the race in gt. Racing is much closer in Forza. I can do this all day but i'm going to try to get my All Carbon X1
I have both. We should really not be comparing the two this way Forza is almost a year and a half old and GT5 is barley a month old. Instead of arguing about which is better based on fanboying play both and then decide which is better for you. I love gt5 but of the 1031 cars 3/4 look like transpalnts from gt4 the premium cars do look worlds better than Forzas' cars the tcs in gt5 is a major problem (think im kidding go to a nissan dealer and drive a 370z with tcs and see if the car turns off.

i have both games, forza is like a easier and less detailed game to play, GT5 gives you more realism and its a more "COMPELET" DRIVING SIMULATOR, but i expected a bit more from polyphony...but stil GT5 gives you a much better driving experience but im not trashing Forza 3 because it's still a very good game ;)

Forza has a we balanced list of performance cars only, no 22hp Volkswagons, now after saying that I beleive that GT5 is a better "game" because of this but I prefer Forza's pure racing aspect. and 800 og GT5's cars are from the PS2 low res waste of space... @OgGSUS Just because they released 3 of the same games doesn't make them special. PD took time to PERFECTLY model each and every one of the 200 premiums that they have (more to come soon). Turn 10 did not take the time to model each car perfectly. They also did not perfect the physics like GT5 did. I personally think the 6 year wait was well worth it.
Problems with GT5 800 sucky ugly looking cars taken from GT2. Shadows that look terrible and flicker so much it makes you want to burn the game. Upgrades? Less than before and they removed brake upgrades! I loved prior versions of GT games and played GT4 until 2009 until Forza 3 came out. Forza 3 is a better simulator and has more/better cars that you actualy want to drive. I feel ripped off by GT5, its really sad that it took 5 years to put this crap out...

hi im 12 years old, i like racing games and GT5 looks crap, i have no understanding what so ever between racing and simulation let alone graphics and physics. I like Forza 3 because i have a 360. BTW that was all sarcasm although thats why people hate GT5. There is a difference people, GT5 is simulation. Forza 3 is close to a cartoon. GT5 is the real driving simulator. Forza 3 should be compared to NFS: Shift or something.

I'd rather have 400-500 HD modeled cars than 220 HD modeled cars with 800 PS2 modeled cars. And GT still doesn't have a good balanced car roster in terms of regional manufacturers and quality of car models. Still too many damn Japanese grocery getters in GT5.......while quality performance cars from NA, Europe, and Aus are left out. But I will admit, GT5 did nail the graphics on their premium cars and the overall driving physics........well, mostly.

Last time i checked if you hit a wall head on at 40MPH then your car isnt going to move anymore if it starts at all.. However, in GT5 i hit the wall head on with a bugatti at 145MPH and bounced off and went on to win race but in forza i hit a wall at 50MPH with bugatti and i couldnt drive over 20MPH or steer at all for rest of race.SO since damage is part of physics i dont c how gt5 is better

The car roster is better in Forza though. Sure GT5 has a thousand cars, but half of them are crap and they don't have as much variety as Forza. All the cars are fully modeled in F3 while only about 30% of GT5's cars are. That said, GT5 has more accurate graphics and racing components, while Forza is prettier and more fun. My suggestion, get the game for the console with your preferred controller.
I dont know about you but i think they were right remember that Forza 3 is a 1 year old game and GT5 didnt even had a playable demo out so technically they were right about their claims by the time F3 came out it WAS the best graphics racer ever now GT5 is the champion but graphics isnt all gameplay wise i prefer F3 because of the community stuff on game, paint schemes, tuning cars for sale at maket, replays plus F3 if u play it in Simulator mode they both have pretty identical driving feel...

I just picked up GT5 yesterday. It's pretty good, I would recommend it for racing sim fans. I expected better considering it was in development for such a long time. I would recommend Forza as well. They are both fun games and everyone should shut up and stop comparing them.

@naturalrush well you obviously dont know much but with blu-ray developers can fit more on the disc. now say for instance this game gets ported over to xbox, they would have to compress the data and probably still have to use 2-3 dvd discs. blu-ray is a big part of why ps3 exclusive games look so much better than xbox games. just look at uncharted 2 or god of war.

First of all I love both series and I'm not a fanboy to any of them. But I have to tell one fact, GT5 have 1000+ cars and the developers said that 20% of them are premium (interior view, better graphics, andvanced damage) which means 200+ cars. Forza 3 has 400+ cars and all of them has interior views, super graphics and realistic damage. And what I saw from the videos of GT5s damage, I'm not so impressed. I don't own a PS3, but still I want to buy one because of this one awesome game.
@misledlestat IGN wasn't the only company to give GT5 a low score. Actually IGN's was one of the more forgiving scores. There were 6 pro reviews that were LOWER than IGN's, even as low as 70/100.

Console wars are silly. Buy all three and be happy. WII for the young ones and good family fun. 360 for the Halo fans. PS3 for GT5 and Blue Ray. @Jtz450 wow the only thing forza has is physical tire deformation mean you can see it. GT5 has all that real time tire deformation but you cant see it. For all you noobs, tire deformation is essentially the heat simulation of a tire and the friction caused by the inertia and the surface.

Lets face it.. Forza is and has always been a gran turismo clone made for the xbox... I've played em' all and while forza does offer a great alternative with better customizing options and what not. Gt has always had the edge in gameplay and realism (graphics and physics wise). Gt5 is not flawless however, with its annoying menu system, crummy online interface, ugly ass shadows.. And I've been waiting for them to put in a rw/ff feature in the repays since gt1!!!! Damnit!

ps3 fanboy alert. lol. no really gt5 and fm3 are both good games. gt5 has amazing graphics on their PREMIUM cars, fm3 has general good graphics on ALL their cars. Both have great physics engines, fm3 has real time tire deformation and gt5 has their track editor. I must say that fm3's cockpit view absoluty sucks balls and gt5's car sounds also suck balls. And gt5 have really messed up shadows, i hope they patch it up soon. I own both games so i know. Both are good!

as far as the music I love the jazz. gt needs a decal system like forza. The scale of the races is better in gt5 because of the 16 car races but without regualating car class somehow you can almost always run away with the race in gt. Racing is much closer in Forza. I can do this all day but i'm going to try to get my All Carbon X1

I have both. We should really not be comparing the two this way Forza is almost a year and a half old and GT5 is barley a month old. Instead of arguing about which is better based on fanboying play both and then decide which is better for you. I love gt5 but of the 1031 cars 3/4 look like transpalnts from gt4 the premium cars do look worlds better than Forzas' cars the tcs in gt5 is a major problem (think im kidding go to a nissan dealer and drive a 370z with tcs and see if the car turns off.

I own Forza 3 AND GT5 AND rFactor, GTR 2, GT Legends and let me tell you... GT5 is fun but it's NOT a racing sim. As far as I'm concerned Forza 3 and GT5 are very close when it comes to their sim qualities and both trail far behind the PC. Anyway my point to this is that Forza 3 has things on GT% and GT% has it's hist on Forza.

I am suck of these....obviously video is old. These are not comparison videos. They are E3 trailer comparisons and nothing else. It takes 3 months post Forza 3 and GT5 to do even a review...let alone a comparison. (and them u are comparing a game that is 1 yr older than the other and with completley different equipment! (unless you are using a compatible Fanatec wheel)

hmmm it took gt how many years to make a game? 5 i think ,so of course in tht time they would perfect the graphics and try to make it perfect foroza motorsport looks like a decent game and it took them half the time of gt to make it so i imagine how long it took them to get 3d support all of those cars cars i may add arent even on foroza's level in terms of custimmization only thing gt has is graphics and details and does give a good driver experiece but how long did it take them i remind u?

i have both games, forza is like a easier and less detailed game to play, GT5 gives you more realism and its a more "COMPELET" DRIVING SIMULATOR, but i expected a bit more from polyphony...but stil GT5 gives you a much better driving experience but im not trashing Forza 3 because it's still a very good game ;)
So people have fun and play as much as you can from both games :)

Gt 5 is its own game! It has been since 1997! Its not tryin to be NFS, Grid or DiRT! However! there comes a game thats trying its best to be GT 1-5! GT doesnt feel threatened by some so called rival! @shock132ava Forza has 500 kick ass cars, I know that GT2 and GT5 have more but 75% are Diahatsu with 40hp and multiples of the same car, 14 Evos, Twenty Supra's, 18 350z's and thats great but there not balanced at all. Forza has a we balanced list of performance cars only, no 22hp Volkswagons, now after saying that I beleive that GT5 is a better "game" because of this but I prefer Forza's pure racing aspect. and 800 og GT5's cars are from the PS2 low res waste of space... But hey I love GT game

@OgGSUS Just because they released 3 of the same games doesn't make them special. PD took time to PERFECTLY model each and every one of the 200 premiums that they have (more to come soon). Turn 10 did not take the time to model each car perfectly. They also did not perfect the physics like GT5 did. I personally think the 6 year wait was well worth it.

Problems with GT5 800 sucky ugly looking cars taken from GT2. Shadows that look terrible and flicker so much it makes you want to burn the game. Upgrades? Less than before and they removed brake upgrades! I loved prior versions of GT games and played GT4 until 2009 until Forza 3 came out. Forza 3 is a better simulator and has more/better cars that you actualy want to drive. I feel ripped off by GT5, its really sad that it took 5 years to put this crap out...

BTW that was all sarcasm although thats why people hate GT5. There is a difference people, GT5 is simulation. Forza 3 is close to a cartoon. GT5 is the real driving simulator. Forza 3 should be compared to NFS: Shift or something.

GT5 is only geed becuase of its tracks and the game its self with rally and NASCAR to keep you playing. Yeah its got 1200 cars and half of them look like PS2 grahpics and the other half are cars no one wants to drive like 30 hp Diahatsu's and 30 different EVO's that are all the same. I'd rather have 400-500 HD modeled cars than 220 HD modeled cars with 800 PS2 modeled cars. And GT still doesn't have a good balanced car roster in terms of regional manufacturers and quality of car models. Still too many damn Japanese grocery getters in GT5.......while quality performance cars from NA, Europe, and Aus are left out. But I will admit, GT5 did nail the graphics on their premium cars and the overall driving physics........well, mostly.

GT5 is a bit more realistic than F3, physics, environment.
However GT5 has a slow loading speed.
The conclusion is, buy F3 if you have 360. Buy GT5 if you have a PS3. But i prefer GT5 more.

Last time i checked if you hit a wall head on at 40MPH then your car isnt going to move anymore if it starts at all.. However, in GT5 i hit the wall head on with a bugatti at 145MPH and bounced off and went on to win race but in forza i hit a wall at 50MPH with bugatti and i couldnt drive over 20MPH or steer at all for rest of race.SO since damage is part of physics i dont c how gt5 is better

The car roster is better in Forza though. Sure GT5 has a thousand cars, but half of them are crap and they don't have as much variety as Forza. All the cars are fully modeled in F3 while only about 30% of GT5's cars are. That said, GT5 has more accurate graphics and racing components, while Forza is prettier and more fun. My suggestion, get the game for the console with your preferred controller.

I dont know about you but i think they were right remember that Forza 3 is a 1 year old game and GT5 didnt even had a playable demo out so technically they were right about their claims by the time F3 came out it WAS the best graphics racer ever now GT5 is the champion but graphics isnt all gameplay wise i prefer F3 because of the community stuff on game, paint schemes, tuning cars for sale at maket, replays plus F3 if u play it in Simulator mode they both have pretty identical driving feel...

I just picked up GT5 yesterday. It's pretty good, I would recommend it for racing sim fans. I expected better considering it was in development for such a long time. I would recommend Forza as well. They are both fun games and everyone should shut up and stop comparing them.

@naturalrush well you obviously dont know much but with blu-ray developers can fit more on the disc. now say for instance this game gets ported over to xbox, they would have to compress the data and probably still have to use 2-3 dvd discs. blu-ray is a big part of why ps3 exclusive games look so much better than xbox games. just look at uncharted 2 or god of war.

First of all I love both series and I'm not a fanboy to any of them. But I have to tell one fact, GT5 have 1000+ cars and the developers said that 20% of them are premium (interior view, better graphics, andvanced damage) which means 200+ cars. Forza 3 has 400+ cars and all of them has interior views, super graphics and realistic damage. And what I saw from the videos of GT5s damage, I'm not so impressed. I don't own a PS3, but still I want to buy one because of this one awesome game.
