Dad did try to get compensation in 1973 but THE OFFICIAL SECRETS ACT crushed his lawyers who came to Uk fdrom AUSTRALIA where we had migrated to in 1966 and shortly after arriving in SYDNEY Dad went blind from radiation cataracts caused by his working at AEL POWER GROUP RESEARCH LABS S.17 & S.15 TRAFFORD PARK UK
we lay Dad on Mums bed and called 000 once again as we had done for my brother Colin a couple of years before. Our lives are forever about to change once more. It shocked me so much seeing dad like that I just never imagined Dad would die in such a horrible & terrifying way.
in the latter part of his life. Mum and Dad had separate rooms because Dad tossed and turned so much at night from the pain caused by cellular damage from the daily Radioactive exposures at the A.E.I POWER GROUP where Dad worked many years before in the United Kingdom and it was this reason that she could not sleep due to Dads constant pain at night so they then both decided it would be better for Mum to sleep in the spare room until Dad got better which he never did, so
watched on crying tears of grief for her love now gone. The reason Lynn and I carried dads dead body into Mums bedroom was because his room was such a mess, with his documents and papers everywhere and Mum asked us to put dad in her bedroom on her bed which we did, so we all really decided to give him respect in death that he was refused
just remembering what happened to him. So after a short discussion with Lynn my eldest sister & mum we then decided together to move dad’s body into mum’s bedroom so we did this dutifully as a family and carried dad’s lifeless dead body, placing him into mum’s bed as mum
frames on his bedside table three of them two smaller ones of mum and one large one of Queen Elizabeth, I guess my mind tried not to focus on dads body it was terrible to see my strong dad reduced to this because he was such a strong individual and it still physically hurts
but he had lay back on his back his chest arched high and his arms out stretched with a terrified painful gasping look upon his face and his half finished coffee that I had made him before I left still sat on his bedside table, I also remember noticing his favourite picture
as we pulled up in the car, we ran to Mum asking her what was wrong and she said its Dad there’s something terribly wrong with him he’s gone, mum meant he had passed away so Lynn and I raced in to find Dad positioned in the same place on his bed as I had left him,
Mum was just awaking and I kissed her too and left to go to Auburn to see my Methadone prescriber Dr Thompson, my elder sister Lynn was driving as my car was off the road for mechanical work, we were gone for about 50 minutes arriving back home to find Mum sat on the front step crying
I awoke on Dads last day at 5.00 am and came into the kitchen to find Dad staggering and unsteady on his feet, he was trying to make his coffee so I marched him back to bed and made it for him, taking it into him and I kissed him goodbye told him I loved him.
from the coroner’s office saying that Dads eyes and brain had been disposed of, this created more questions than it answered and further answers we never got. But safe to say it was connected in some way to Dads work or a huge coincidence. So we end up with no answers and no justice once again.
multiple times to radiation, the other weird thing that happened was the removal of my Dads eyes and brain without permission, this we only found out about 2 years later when we received a letter
to do with his secret work but it was mentioned in the letter from the coroner, it said Caucasian male has history of working within the nuclear industry in the UK and had history of being exposed
The autopsy performed after he died suddenly was inconclusive in regards to his exposure to radiation, yet oddly no one in our family had mentioned Dads exposure to radiation or anything
