I played the game for 24 years since 86' and this game pushed me to HATE KONAMI even more ,for their stupid ideas, and the game have NO music for the old games, and the game is more of greek, and as a HUGE HUGE KONAMI fan ? I hate u Konami, i called my old car Konami with a sticker, now i took it off, what i put is the OLD waved logo konami, as a memory of the good ol konami. This game SUCKS as a castlevania But a kool graphics and epic music as a DIFFRENT game.
Im playing the game right now. so far just loving it, and by the way for those so call castlevania fans that says that this game has nothing to do with Castlevania you may want to take a look back at Castlevania 3 and 2 in the nes days. where the adventure was linear and always heading to to Castlevania itself and no t like in symphony of the night (wich i also love by the way) where you spend all the time in Dracula's castle.
I'm playing it now, and shadow magic isn't part of castlevania. I spend over a hour trying to open a door with shadow magic. It said use shadow magic and press L2, but L2 is block. Also the enemies don't have to hit you to kill you, u have to be pressing block which is retarded when I'm behind them. DITCH THE SHADOW MAGIC, also halfway though the game and no (cross, axe, crystal, holy water) just the knife.
kyo above all is correct .im 32 and if anything the others take ideas from there fourfathers so to speak.there'd be no sonic without mario .no halo without games like doom etc.i've played lots of games here lately thats gotten bad reviews cause of it being a so called knock off .games are meant to be enjoyed who cares if they have the fighting styles or etc.
sad to know that they trew away a very rich and strong cast of characters , by doing that u are just plain doing a new game and putting a big title to it. i mean this game maybe fantastic BUT, if thres no conection to the other games ... thats sad very sad , i mean whers the clasic touch ? vampire killer anyone? this is before any of that, he is the first belmont. so the whip and dracula still dont exist, the whip is from lament of Innocense and so is dracula (where they first came out in the time line)
well am about 85% sure they rebooted the whole series.... like a complete new time line /universe. so no vampire killer no dracula(yet, or as we know him). :(
dracula is mathias from lament of innocense, and the alchemy whip turns to the vampire killer. but hopefully we get unlockable players like in other games. I want to play as Richter in this game

@kyo3016 thats a fanboy statement.. i have nothing against castlevania.. but this has not much to do with the old series of castlevania.. the old series were darker and most of the time inside a castle, not on the outside etc.
and its a fact that lords of shadow is a complete reboot of the series.. the kind of gameplay and leveldesign etc... and you cant ignore some simularities to other titles "GoW, Darksiders, Dantes inferno" etc.

The new one looks pretty good. I really miss Symphony of the Night tho. Curse of Darkness brought back to Castlevania what it had lost, but I hate games that try to have too much graphics. What's so bad about a side scroller anyway? At least I freaking KNOW when something going to get hit by my wild sword swings.
This looks really good. I'm definitely going to rent this, even if it's a bad game, just because the visuals look stunning. I guess at this point it comes down to story, gameplay, and replay value. I just hope it doesn't have a Karma system that just forces you to play the game twice...

Mijudasa, tu crees que semejante nivel que ha demostrado Mercury Steam no merece un doblaje al castellano como dios manda? yo creo que si. Lo que pasa que los japos son muy suyos y no saben que existimos, pero eso pronto cambiará.
Menospreciar nuestro mercado por miedo a los nipones no es solución, en España no se invierte pero este Castlevania puede cambiar las cosas.

@Mijudasa Pues no sera tan grande como el japones pero te recuerdo que el mercado español es el 4 mas grande de europa, en cuando a ventas estamos por delande de paises como italia, asi que tampoco es como para despreciarlo. Yo personalmente me da igual por que hablo ingles perfectamente, pero hay que tener en cuenta que no todo el mundo habla ingles y estar leyendo subtitulos es una putada.
