"Nadia's Theme" has been the theme song of The Young and the Restless since the show's debut in 1973. The melody, originally titled "Cotton's Dream", was written by Barry De Vorzon and Perry Botkin, Jr. as incidental music for the 1971 theatrical film Bless the Beasts and Children. The melody was later renamed "Nadia's Theme" after the ABC television network lent the music for Romanian gymnast Nadia Comăneci's performance during the 1976 Summer Olympics.

I miss the long endings! why can't the last scene end at the last 5 minutes of the show(with 1;30 comm break) than the theme for like 2 - 2:30 mins(this theme song) and "join us again for the young and the restless"...and then the next minute of promos and ads before whatever's next?
@retrounderground1 yeah someone messed up on that...big time. Retards! My advice is if you aren't intelligent enough to put up a montage of correct characters, actors, just don't bother! It makes the person look very unintelligent with their soap knowledge...and giving credit to the wrong people? And I don't remember a lot of these pretty boy characters! Nick Newman def don't look like that today, he's scrubby now...and a big loser!
This is very good. I have 2 questions, though: What happened to Jerry Douglas (John Abbott)? Also, who is Teddy Sears, who is listed as Billy Abbott? I don't remember him playing that part, or any part on Y&R.
Most people today don't realize that this theme was simply "The Young and the Restless" long before Nadia Comenici selected it as the music for her Olympic gold medal routine. Only when the single was released did it become known as Nadia's Theme. This arrangement (the Columbia Pictures TV original) is my favorite.
OMG I love it! And the picked the version of Nadia's Theme with the base in it! You should consider a career in this. Hopefully u get there we might into each other if you decide to do this I'm an aspiring soap writer. Keep up the good work hope u do more of them.
Wait a minute. Why did you put Columbia Pictures Television's name and if that was folded into Columbia TriStar Television in 2001 and later became Sony Pictures Television in 2002?
That is Unbelieveable!!!!

Donnelly Rhodes played Philip Chancellor III in the 1970s.

This theme song was originally played towards the end of the movie "Bless the Beasts and the Children". Good movie to see also.

@Noveltooner oh yeah I knew that! But it's great being played to anything, not just soapy!

You never got this on showings of The Young And The Restless on UKliving in the 90's;the titles were heavily cut and sometimes you got NO end titles!

I did it to pay homage to the era of Y&R when Bill Bell was the head writer.
