  • Love this song and video! Oh my what a man! They don't make them like this anymore! WOW!

  • 10 people are not being sung to after the lovin'.

  • YES!!!

  • ENGLEBERT IS TRUELY THE KING OF ROMANCE,THIS IS WHAT MUSIC WAS OR IS.

  • This reminds me of my dad....RIP daddy....xxx

  • Heard this on a repeat of Casey Kasem's American Top 40 Countdown Sunday, this peaked in January 1977...Unreal this song is now 35 years old! This was played at my cousins wedding back in 1993...I also recall when this song came out, even at the young age of 5...I can still hear this song on the radio that my parents always had on! That's when music was most memorable, & it still is memorable to this day! I couldn't tell you one song that is current today!

  • What a good looking man! A voice to match too. We went to Vegas once and he was performing...someone opened the doors to the theater and his voice, oh my gosh, just rolled out like a large thunder cloud. Great voice, great looks!

  • one of the great all time love songs

  • Fell in love with Norma in Santa Maria dancing through each other's hearts...again and again.

  • This is truly one of the greatest love songs ever without a doubt. It brings back some very good memories from yesterday. When Music was Music!!!!

  • THIS IS THE GREATEST SONG IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ya thank you luly :)

  • I've never heard anyone say they didn't like this song. A true, classic love song. Music and lyrics like this put today's music (if you can call it that) to shame...

  • GREAT JOB EH..HEY PLEASE SEE MY VERSION OF THIS SONG GO TO YOU TUBE AND TYPE STEVE DITULLIO IF YOU LIKE IT SPREAD THE WORD....I AM AN AMERICAN CROONER LOVE STEVE DITULLIO,,,,,,

  • Personally, I think that Arnold Dorsey was a perfectly fine name for a singer.

  • Peaked in January 1977

  • 9th Wonder !!

  • "After The Lovin'" peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in late 1976. Several weeks later it reached number 40 on the magazine's country list.

  • Classical romantic music

  • I'd like to dedicate this to my husband that I miss with all my heart. He passed away last March. He was my first love and thought the years I never stopped loving him. Because of life's circumstances we divorced but I never stopped loving him. I never felt as close to any other man like I did him. I always felt myself married to him even now I do. I pray he will be at the gates waiting for me. Some days I feel as if I can't breath it hurts so much. I don't think I ever get over the hurt.

  • @taxpayinghorse Don't have the words to express what your post means to me. How beautiful.

  • @samisunc Thank you for your nice words. I didn't think anyone really reads what people type. It seems to help me to be able to express myself anonymously since there is really no one I'd care to share my thoughts with about him in the non-cyber world.

  • @taxpayinghorse Incredible to think someone could be so filled with love for another person. So inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing your feelings. Don't think I'll ever forget what you've written. What's more, nothing I write here truly expresses the way your words have touched me.

  • This man not only sings about love he knows about it. Englebert Humperdink has been married to the same woman for over 47 years.

  • My wife wanted to hear this. This is one boring song. He sings it well, but it dragged on for me.

  • This is a true example of better music from the 60s, 70s, and the 80s

  • @Visonu

...And the 90s and the 2000's.....

  • I love singing this song at Karaoke. People still love it.

  • My first love, Deborah, introduced me to this man's wonderful music in 1980. She was staying with her aunt and uncle for a time after moving to California, and I was an Airman at the time. The evenings we spent in their home, having conversation while Engelbert played in th background, bring back most fond memories. And this was my favorite Engelbert song. Still is, no doubt because of that time.

  • THIS IS A MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOY I WISH THERE COULD BE MORE MEN/ARTIST LIKE THIS AMAZING SINGER. HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. HIS SONGS TRULY REACH THE HEART AND SOUL OF ANYONE WITH SOME LEVEL OF SENSITIVITY. THANK YOU MR. ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK FOR YOUR TALENT AND DEDICATION TO LOVE.

  • This one means so much to me. It's the story of our long life of love which was lost with his death almost a year ago, and I miss him more than ever each day of my life.I will always love him with all my heart and soul.

  • @ShitFromShinolla A good shit-kicking, drugs, and Englebert. Ah, good times. (By the way, Shinola is spelled with one l, just like this, not two).

  • @cosg9531 Shinola was already taken by another user when I created this account. LOL...... funny comment!

  • To Les~ Love from Hawaii!

  • In 1980, my first love introduced me to Englebert, and this was the first song. I've been a devoted fan ever since. Sitting in her aunt and uncle's livingroom loft, and Englbert filling the air as we shared gentle laughter and conversation. Such precious memories. Whenever I hear this song, I am right back in California, an Airman in the Air Force, sharing time with this lovely young girl. Thank you, Englebert, for all of the years.

  • @roscoegino

I honestly don't see how you could turn "After the Loving" into a rap song. Nonetheless, I don't wish you ill.

  • "After the loving...if you're not completely satisfied, return the unused portion for a full refund..[[quack-quack]]....

For some reason I remember "Crazy Bob" one of the main DJ's of those crazy morning radio shows back in 79---The Crazy Bob Show on WIBG (or perhaps Wizard-100) in Philly, saying that comment.

  • : Magically beautiful~!!!!!!!!! Thankyou~~~~~

  • I grew up in the 70's and the music was so special then. My opinion is that

the music from the 70's is the greatest ever made. anymore, no one seems

to know how to write or even sing a song anymore. Bring back the MUSIC!!!!

  • I was born in 1965. I remember the 70's when we were new in America. My parents worked really hard for the 3 of us. What bittersweet memories. We had such beautiful music in the 70's. Where did it all go?

  • Not only is this a sexy song, but his name is sorta sexy. LOVE THIS SONG!!

  • I used to hear this song almost every night at the grocery store i worked at in the 70's,on our local radio station WIAI in danville, illinois, i was only 17, but this kind of music is timeless,oh well can't bring back the good ol days, but we can enjoy a taste of it now and then!

  • love it

  • LOVE IT

  • GOD BLESS YOU FOREVER FOR THE LOVIN

  • Thanks piligaona for a very nice job on a great song. He just makes great singing sound so effortless. Man I would love to go back to those times. no computers, cell phones but we had a ball. I was partying strong in North Tonawanda, New York

  • Billboard's #61 song of '77. Engelbert hit #1 AC, #8 pop in the US. Did it chart in the UK? God bless!

  • THIS IS MY MOM AND DADS SONG BUT I LOVE IT WITH ALL MY HEART

  • This song is sexy sweet.

  • Saw him live last night in Sydney at the State Theatre.....such a charismatic performer....at 74 he still has it...great voice and outstanding performer

  • @intellisis01 Englebert will be performing somewhere in the Seattle area sometime after the first of the year and I want to go. My mom has always enjoyed his music as have I so it would be a nice treat for her to see him live. I didn't realize he was 74!!! He is a timeless performer singing the 'good stuff'.

  • @TheCarsche I also took my mother along....She loved it too. You will be guaranteed a fantastic performance. He is 74 believe it or not, but you would never think so with the energy he has on stage. He performed for a solid one and a half hours and was entertainment for every second of it....I am so glad I went. The mix is his classics as well as a few songs from his new album 'Released'. He does a great performance of the James Blunt song 'Goodbye My Lover'.

  • @intellisis01 thanks for the added info in your message. I am looking forward to seeing him in person but am planning on keeping it a secret for a birthday or Christmas present for my mom. She will be thrilled I'm sure. I believe he will be at one of the newest casinos if I'm not mistaken...no matter I'm sure it will be good. Later

  • @TheCarsche I WISH MY MOM WAS STILL WITH ME BUT THROUGH THIS SONG SHE IS HAVE FUN

  • this song for me hearing it makes me feel better and it also it remind me about my parents and the love they had not only for their kids as well for each other

  • this song for me hearing it makes me feel better

  • to IJGORMAN 66 gene simmons has a bigger nose and a wider face and brown eyes but could pass i quess. amazing singer amazing voice amazing song bellizama

  • is it just me or does EH look like Gene Simmons without his KISS makeup???

  • As a professional songwriter, I can say with authority that this is an awesomely GREAT song, written from the heart, solidly based in advanced music theory and traditional production fundamentals. The masterful tension and release, effortless flow, subtle turnarounds, and other pro techniques are breathtaking in application. And the slightly drippy schmaltz factor is endearing heavenly, too, if you open your heart to the timeless pathos of it. Definitely on my top-100 songs of all time :)
