For anyone saying that this dog is suffering from anxiety, you clearly have never raised dogs. If the owner let the dog out, they are rewarding the chewing and the unwanted behavior and it will escalate to horrible forms of separation anxiety, which can potentially destroy your house and furniture. Rewarding the behavior is only going to make the dog think that they'll get what they want if they continued to chew on household items. :/
