The bullet would have dropped slightly, not travelled in a straight line as a sniper has to compensate height for distance, this effect is known as bullet drop. It's unlikely the sniper rifle would have been zeroed correctly to compensate for this, and because of the elevated position a shot aimed at Kennedy's head would potentially result in it striking him in the neck instead.

As the years pass more and more proof is coming to light that Oswald acted alone, really, you have to be weird to think that it wasn't Oswald alone. Oswald left an abundant trail of incriminating evidence. An assassin, intelligent enough in preparing a »plant« that he even did not know the motorcade route in advance, would not be so careless as to carry incriminating documents in his wallet or leave photographs of himself holding the murder rifle where the police could easily find them.
I agree with most of these comments. I was 9 when JFK was assassinated. I did not believe Oswald acted alone for many years. I can certainly see why people initially thought it was the USSR, the Mafia or Castro. But, over the years, there has been more and more to support the lone gunman theory, compared to a lack of hard evidence to support the multiple conspiracy theories. It was unlikely, but fate delivered JFK into right Oswald's hands when he was driven right in front his workplace.

He was shot from the grassy knoll. That's just obvious. Go shoot somebody in the back of the head and see if they fly backwards at you. It wont happen. Momentum will carry them forward. The head shot came from the front.
@georgejungismyhero If he was standing still and shot from straight behind, the head would go forward, but that didn't happen. It hit near the top of his head, from above. The skull contains spaces that finish closing in infancy. The internal pressure released by the bullet pulled the skull apart where those sutures were, which pulled the head upward. The momentum of the car all ready traveling, and the driver stepping on the gas, pulled it backwards more. No entry wound in front, either.

The History Channel did a documentary titled "The Men Who Killed Kennedy" in 1988 and even they concluded that JFK's death was the result of a a conspiracy and it was covered up at the highest levels of government. The House Select Committee on Assassinations also concluded that JFK died as a result of a conspiracy and that the DOJ, FBI, CIA and Warren Commission with held evidence that was available in '64.
Actually, the movement of the head is not a good indicator on from what direction the bullet had come from. You might also want to consider the jet effect to understand why Kennedy's head fell back when he was shot. It was also impossible for someone in the grassy knoll to take the finishing shot because the side of Kennedy's head was facing the grassy knoll during that time and we know he was either from the front or the back.

It might have but the fact that a shot was fired from the grassy knoll kills the lone gunman theory and makes it pretty obvious that the U.S. government, at the very least, withheld evidence. It's interesting to note that Dan Rather lied to the American people when he told them that JFK's head went forward in the Zapruder film and now he's a "household name".
Funny thing about "magic bullet" theory is that it never offered the explanation of "what really happened". It said that single bullet couldn't have hit them both. Thats it. So what happened to the bullet that hit Kennedy and exited his throat? It must have then hit something? End up somewhere!? But no "second bullet" was ever found. So ironically... the magic bullet theory offers a rather unsatisfing alternative that the bullet that hit Kennedy disappeared just after exiting his throat.

@LongLiveOx Actually, Shaw doesn't say "bullet", he calls it a "missile." To a doctor, any fragment of a bullet is frequently referred to as a "missile." What he was saying is that they decided to leave tiny fragments behind in Connally's thigh wound. The wound was so shallow that they would have had to go digging for these tiny flecks, making the wound worse in the process. No medical problems would result from leaving them behind - so that's what they did. THAT'S WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT!

@yllibotiv No one ever claimed the single bullet was the head shot. The Warren Commission's conclusion was that either the first or the second shot (now generally accepted to be the second) transited Kennedy's body and struck Connally, and then the third shot struck Kennedy in the head.

According to the HSCA medical panel the bullet that entered JFK's back entered at a "slightly upward" angle and exited his throat. In order to make this "work" they claimed JFK had to lean over 18 to 24 degrees, they claimed this happened during the second JFK disappeared behind the sign in Z film.
@TrueNovice You are mistaken. The Committee determined from photographic evidence that JFK was leaning 11 to 18 degrees forward relative to the limo at the time of the double-body hit. Adding to this the 4 degree downward path (relative to the body) of the bullet through his neck and the 3 degree incline of the street, they concluded the bullet's trajectory was 18 to 25 degrees and drew a line that went right back to the sixth floor of the Book Depository. It's all in Volume VI of their report.

A similar-looking bullet was produced in an experiment described in "Experimental Duplication of the Important Physical Evidence of the Lapel Bulge of the Jacket Worn by Governor Connally When Bullet 399 Went Through Him" by John K. Lattimer, M.D., et al, in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons, May 1994.

@jacobji5 The HSCA thoroughly verified that the man in the autopsy photos is JFK and no other person, please read their report. I don't think Badge Man was a person at all; conspiracy theorists just found something in the photo that kind of looks like a person the way most of us find images in clouds. A shot from Badge Man's position would have been blocked by the retaining wall, and he would have been standing only a few yards to the right of Zapruder and Sitzman, who didn't see or hear anyone.

If JFK is sitting upright when he is hit, The bullet will come out his chest not his neck where it is supposed to. The HSCA medical panel said JFK would have to be bent over at least 24 degrees, like he is tying his shoe in order for it to come out his neck. This never happened on the Z film and was seen by no one. So this is cartoon is a faulty analysis and has not been medically vetted and would not be admitted as evidence in any murder trial.
This contains no evidence, the guy has replaced actual footage with a cartoon representation to help him line up the bullet. When you look at the real footage and timings the official theory dies.
@QuietTyro If the autopsy X-rays and photos show evidence of a single head- shot from the rear, well, they must be fakes. If the wounds on Kennedy's body are consistent with a single-gunman, well, the body must have been altered. If the neutron activation analysis shows the single- bullet theory to be correct, well, the evidence has been tampered with. And, if you do not like the conclusions of a professional panel, well, they must have ties to the government.
This guy, in my humble opinion, was probably paid off to say this. He doesn't give any evidence to support his claim for the heigh and angles. He just says, "This isn't so, it's this." Ok. how do you know that? Can you show us that through the zapruder film? I don't whether the angles are true or false, however I've been using rifles for a long time and I can tell you that this isn't how things work. And the this is all irrelevant anyway since the fatal shot was angled from the grassy knoll.
@xirishmagicx There are hundreds of photos of the motorcade that day from all angles and heights, including one taken on Main Street almost overhead. Use google image and search under JFK motorcade to review the photos. Also the official museum in the TSBD has a site with photos. They clearly show the relationship of JFK to JC in the car, and position of seats and heights. Also, the specs of the limo are avail and detail locations and heights.

One from a building up high and one from toward the bottom of the building then the fatal hit shot from the grassy knoll with an exploding bullet to obliterate all traces of trajectory. idk. . . . @11TimeOut11 Either way, Kennedy's head was whipped to his left when he was shot in the head. That clearly shows the bullet came from the right, exploded in his head (hence the exploding bullet) and then did not exit. I've never seen autopsy photos of an exit wound in Kennedy's head except for the faked photos. Being someone who has shot rifles, I know how bullet enter and leave their targets and the angle in which the bullet must've been fired from. However, there are a few discrepancies.
@xirishmagicx IN fact it is the exit wound from a round like this that causes the damage, not the entrance wound. Simply look up ballistics to check it out. JFK jerk after the head shot was a massive neurological reaction to the brain damage caused by the bullet. the muscles of the trunk go into a rigid spasm and then release. Duplicated many times is wound testing. If you look frame by frame his head jerks forward with the bullet impact then body (not head) jerks back with the neuro spasm
@steveom59 I understand that the exit wound is where most of the damage is caused and that rule is pretty universal for most bullets and that everything you said regarding the neurological reactions make perfect sense to me. I see his head whip to the left, then his body follows. I don't know if you see something different but it seems pretty clear that he was shot from the side. It doesn't really matter all that much to me. Just stating my opinion.
For example, the picture "the badge man" or whatever you wanna refer to it as, shows a man with a camera. That man is the guy who shot this film. If I remember correctly, he claims to have ducked once the shot was fired behind him however, the film shows steady videography even after the bullet hit Kennedy. The video camera would've been on the ground and shaken quite a bit and it would not have showed the rest of the scene like it clearly does. So I don't know. Everyone knows it was a set up

LHO fired three bullets. The first hit JFK in the upper back just to the right of the midline and exited his throat, nicking his tie. The second shot hit JC in the back between the armpit and the shoulder blade. It travelled along the fifth rib, shattered it, left the chest as it tubled -- or yawed -- entered (backwards) the back of the wrist as JC had his hand flat on his left leg, shattered the bone, exited and made a superficial wound in the thigh. The third bullet hit and killed JFK.
YOu know what....this video is called :"lining up the magic bullet", and the only way that is accomplished "in the video" is to MOVE Connally's seat 6inches inboard, BUT in fact, the seat was only 2.5 inches inboard. Don't believe me? Check out the schematics for the LIMO, clearly states the jumpseat as being 2.5 inches inboard of the door.
One thing you are forgetting: Connally stated over and over again that he heard the first shot -- turned to his right but couldn`t see JFK -- so then turned to his left -- and was then hit by the second bullet.

If Connally were seated right in front of Kennedy, he'd appear far more to the right, and if you look at his arm, if he were sitting closer to the edge of the vehicle it would have gone over the rim, yet it barely touches the lip of the body. Also, perspective wise, if you look at the photo and try to trace a line from Kennedy to Connally, you see that he is not in front of JFK as conspiracies believe

@whatdidulearn JFK was noticeably larger? Want to know why? Two possible explanations: either Kennedy's seat was elevated, or Connally's seat was lowered. In both fashions there is photographic evidence of Kennedy's motorcade using either, if not both configurations. Also, if you look at the photos and frame by frames, you can notice that Connally's arm is up, barely resting against the lip of the vehicle, which lends itself to the theory in the video.

Myers misrepresents where the jump seat is in the Limo, it is NOT 6 inches inboard of the door, it is 2.5 inches inboard, this can be verified by the schematics of the limo. They VERY CLEARLY state the jump seat is 2.5 inches from the door! So in his animation he has to move JCB 3.5 inches to his left, and just like that the trajectory works just fine! The bullet would have dropped slightly, not travelled in a straight line as a sniper has to compensate height for distance, this effect is known as bullet drop. It's unlikely the sniper rifle would have been zeroed correctly to compensate for this, and because of the elevated position a shot aimed at Kennedy's head would potentially result in it striking him in the neck instead.

As the years pass more and more proof is coming to light that Oswald acted alone, really, you have to be weird to think that it wasn't Oswald alone. Oswald left an abundant trail of incriminating evidence. An assassin, intelligent enough in preparing a »plant« that he even did not know the motorcade route in advance, would not be so careless as to carry incriminating documents in his wallet or leave photographs of himself holding the murder rifle where the police could easily find them.

I agree with most of these comments. I was 9 when JFK was assassinated. I did not believe Oswald acted alone for many years. I can certainly see why people initially thought it was the USSR, the Mafia or Castro. But, over the years, there has been more and more to support the lone gunman theory, compared to a lack of hard evidence to support the multiple conspiracy theories. It was unlikely, but fate delivered JFK into right Oswald's hands when he was driven right in front his workplace.

@aMarinedaughter Except when JFK was shot in the head, his head flew backwards. If he was shot from behind(where Oswald was allegedly at) he would have flown forward. He was shot from the grassy knoll. That's just obvious. Go shoot somebody in the back of the head and see if they fly backwards at you. It wont happen. Momentum will carry them forward. The head shot came from the front.

@georgejungismyhero If he was standing still and shot from straight behind, the head would go forward, but that didn't happen. It hit near the top of his head, from above. The skull contains spaces that finish closing in infancy. The internal pressure released by the bullet pulled the skull apart where those sutures were, which pulled the head upward. The momentum of the car all ready traveling, and the driver stepping on the gas, pulled it backwards more. No entry wound in front, either.

The History Channel did a documentary titled "The Men Who Killed Kennedy" in 1988 and even they concluded that JFK's death was the result of a a conspiracy and it was covered up at the highest levels of government. The House Select Committee on Assassinations also concluded that JFK died as a result of a conspiracy and that the DOJ, FBI, CIA and Warren Commission with held evidence that was available in '64.

Actually, the movement of the head is not a good indicator on from what direction the bullet had come from. You might also want to consider the jet effect to understand why Kennedy's head fell back when he was shot. It was also impossible for someone in the grassy knoll to take the finishing shot because the side of Kennedy's head was facing the grassy knoll during that time and we know he was either from the front or the back.

It might have but the fact that a shot was fired from the grassy knoll kills the lone gunman theory and makes it pretty obvious that the U.S. government, at the very least, withheld evidence. We certainly do not know the complete truth. It's interesting to note that Dan Rather lied to the American people when he told them that JFK's head went forward in the Zapruder film and now he's a "household name".

Funny thing about "magic bullet" theory is that it never offered the explanation of "what really happened". It said that single bullet couldn't have hit them both. Thats it. So what happened to the bullet that hit Kennedy and exited his throat? It must have then hit something? End up somewhere!? But no "second bullet" was ever found. So ironically... the magic bullet theory offers a rather unsatisfing alternative that the bullet that hit Kennedy disappeared just after exiting his throat.

@LongLiveOx Was Dr Shaw a forensic pathologist? What was his background with gunshot wounds? The WC ITSELF assumed Connally was hit in the back, then hit by a separate bullet in the wrist and thigh until further tests revealed those latter wounds HAD TO BE caused by a non-pristine bullet. The OPINIONS of Doctors don't trump physical evidence or the views of the experts in the relevant areas - like ballistics and forensic pathology.

I love how the simulation doesn't show the bullet continuing on to somehow strike the topside of Connally's wrist, go through it and make a turn into his thigh. Connally all his life insisted he was hit by a different bullet than JFK, because he didn't feel any pain until after he had already turned around and saw Kennedy holding his throat.

@LongLiveOx Actually, Shaw doesn't say "bullet", he calls it a "missile." To a doctor, any fragment of a bullet is frequently referred to as a "missile." What he was saying is that they decided to leave tiny fragments behind in Connally's thigh wound. The wound was so shallow that they would have had to go digging for these tiny flecks, making the wound worse in the process. No medical problems would result from leaving them behind - so that's what they did. THAT'S WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT!

Just the fact that he had just shot the President and the adrenaline that would cause makes for at least a few seconds of nervously looking for a place to stash it and it was found behind/under some boxes so there was some attempt to hide the alleged murder weapon after allegedly shooting JFK. JFK's ear was not damaged, but Tippit reportedly fell to the pavement on the right side of his head - causing that ear damage. Now you understand the biggest part of the conspiracy puzzle. It is Tippit buried in JFK's grave.

@yllibotiv No one ever claimed the single bullet was the head shot. The Warren Commission's conclusion was that either the first or the second shot (now generally accepted to be the second) transited Kennedy's body and struck Connally, and then the third shot struck Kennedy in the head.

According to Jim Garrison the DA who was the only person to bring a case against the murder of the president proved that the throat wound was above the back wound which means if it was all one bullet it would have hit his back then went up through his body and out his through his throat going up... and to hit connely it would have had to move down considerably to hit is back because he was in a jump seat.... that disproves this assholes idea.

According to the HSCA medical panel the bullet that entered JFK's back entered at a "slightly upward" angle and exited his throat. In order to make this "work" they claimed JFK had to lean over 18 to 24 degrees, they claimed this happened during the second JFK disappeared behind the sign in Z film.

Adding to this the 4 degree downward path (relative to the body) of the bullet through his neck and the 3 degree incline of the street, they concluded the bullet's trajectory was 18 to 25 degrees and drew a line that went right back to the sixth floor of the Book Depository. It's all in Volume VI of their report.

A similar-looking bullet was produced in an experiment described in "Experimental Duplication of the Important Physical Evidence of the Lapel Bulge of the Jacket Worn by Governor Connally When Bullet 399 Went Through Him" by John K. Lattimer, M.D., et al, in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons, May 1994.

Oswald might have also wanted to wait to take the shot until those four cops and nine Secret Service agents weren't all facing the south side of the Depository. Besides, if there were any other shooters, they apparently fired into the air, since they failed to hit Kennedy, anyone else in the limo, the limo itself, any spectators standing behind the limo, or any of the structures in Dealey Plaza.

@jacobji5 The HSCA thoroughly verified that the man in the autopsy photos is JFK and no other person, please read their report. I don't think Badge Man was a person at all; conspiracy theorists just found something in the photo that kind of looks like a person the way most of us find images in clouds. A shot from Badge Man's position would have been blocked by the retaining wall, and he would have been standing only a few yards to the right of Zapruder and Sitzman, who didn't see or hear anyone.

If JFK is sitting upright when he is hit, The bullet will come out his chest not his neck where it is supposed to. The HSCA medical panel said JFK would have to be bent over at least 24 degrees, like he is tying his shoe in order for it to come out his neck. This never happened on the Z film and was seen by no one. So this is cartoon is a faulty analysis and has not been medically vetted and would not be admitted as evidence in any murder trial.

If the wounds on Kennedy's body are consistent with a single-gunman, well, the body must have been altered. If the neutron activation analysis shows the single- bullet theory to be correct, well, the evidence has been tampered with. And, if you do not like the conclusions of a professional panel, well, they must have ties to the government.

This guy, in my humble opinion, was probably paid off to say this. He doesn't give any evidence to support his claim for the heigh and angles. He just says, "This isn't so, it's this." Ok. how do you know that? Can you show us that through the zapruder film? I don't whether the angles are true or false, however I've been using rifles for a long time and I can tell you that this isn't how things work. And the this is all irrelevant anyway since the fatal shot was angled from the grassy knoll.

@xirishmagicx There are hundreds of photos of the motorcade that day from all angles and heights, including one taken on Main Street almost overhead. Use google image and search under JFK motorcade to review the photos. Also the official museum in the TSBD has a site with photos. They clearly show the relationship of JFK to JC in the car, and position of seats and heights. Also, the specs of the limo are avail and detail locations and heights.

One from a building up high and one from toward the bottom of the building then the fatal hit shot from the grassy knoll with an exploding bullet to obliterate all traces of trajectory. idk. . . . @11TimeOut11 Either way, Kennedy's head was whipped to his left when he was shot in the head. That clearly shows the bullet came from the right, exploded in his head (hence the exploding bullet) and then did not exit. I've never seen autopsy photos of an exit wound in Kennedy's head except for the faked photos. Being someone who has shot rifles, I know how bullet enter and leave their targets and the angle in which the bullet must've been fired from. However, there are a few discrepancies.

@xirishmagicx IN fact it is the exit wound from a round like this that causes the damage, not the entrance wound. Simply look up ballistics to check it out. JFK jerk after the head shot was a massive neurological reaction to the brain damage caused by the bullet. the muscles of the trunk go into a rigid spasm and then release. Duplicated many times is wound testing. If you look frame by frame his head jerks forward with the bullet impact then body (not head) jerks back with the neuro spasm

I see his head whip to the left, then his body follows. I don't know if you see something different but it seems pretty clear that he was shot from the side. For example, the picture "the badge man" or whatever you wanna refer to it as, shows a man with a camera. That man is the guy who shot this film. If I remember correctly, he claims to have ducked once the shot was fired behind him however, the film shows steady videography even after the bullet hit Kennedy. The video camera would've been on the ground and shaken quite a bit and it would not have showed the rest of the scene like it clearly does. So I don't know. Everyone knows it was a set up

LHO fired three bullets. The first hit JFK in the upper back just to the right of the midline and exited his throat, nicking his tie. The second shot hit JC in the back between the armpit and the shoulder blade. It travelled along the fifth rib, shattered it, left the chest as it tubled -- or yawed -- entered (backwards) the back of the wrist as JC had his hand flat on his left leg, shattered the bone, exited and made a superficial wound in the thigh. The third bullet hit and killed JFK.

YOu know what....this video is called :"lining up the magic bullet", and the only way that is accomplished "in the video" is to MOVE Connally's seat 6inches inboard, BUT in fact, the seat was only 2.5 inches inboard. Don't believe me? Check out the schematics for the LIMO, clearly states the jumpseat as being 2.5 inches inboard of the door.

Holy Cow! Bunch of deaf, blind, and dumb people! So blind they can't see that Connally was hit by bullet on frame 300 of zapruder film, and can't see his cheeks puff out. So deaf they couldn't hear Connally and his wife state that he was hit "as he turned back to his left," so dumb that they think Connally reacts to high power bullet in lung by turning and rotating 180 deg. just to look around! How did that play out, "Hey guys just go shot in lung! Anything funny going on back there?"

Myers says at the end of this "its the only way it could have happened", good enough he misrepresents where Connally is to make it that way. So if thats the only way it could have happened, than obviously, there is more than one shooter.

@whatdidulearn Where are you getting your logic? Did you bother to look at the photos I posted? If Connally were seated right in front of Kennedy, he'd appear far more to the right, and if you look at his arm, if he were sitting closer to the edge of the vehicle it would have gone over the rim, yet it barely touches the lip of the body. Also, perspective wise, if you look at the photo and try to trace a line from Kennedy to Connally, you see that he is not in front of JFK as conspiracies believe

I am simply saying Myers is misrepresenting where Connally is, he states he is 6 inches inboard of the door yet photos and schematics of the limo tell us otherwise. If you have information that states the jump seat is 6 inches inboard, please share it with me. Its great to have a civil debate with someone that doesnt involve curse words or inane profanity. As you know the only 2 points I am making ,is the difference in size of the figures and the location of the jumpseat, it can't be 6 inches and 2.5, either Myers is right or he isn't, and from my perspective I have solid proof the seat is 2.5 inches inboard from the door.

@whatdidulearn For the most part man, this was good research for my paper. Allowed me to see other viewpoints besides my own. I ended up turning in the second best paper my prof had ever seen. Well 17 pages did contain a ton of content, but I wasn't able to include half of what I wanted due to time constraints. It was fun talking with you, and the best of luck in life man. Made an A in my History class and made a 100% on the paper, so I'm glad that there was someone to expose diff viewpoints. :D

@DawnOfDaybreak No problem, check out the schematic done for the HSCA, and the one done for the W/C, they BOTH clearly show the jumpseat 2.5 inches inboard of the door, NOT 6 inches as Myers claims. And you are right when you say "isn't it easy to turn things around on people?" That is incredibly true when you answer questions with questions, instead of with answers. Hope this helps you. :D

@whatdidulearn JFK was noticeably larger? Want to know why? Two possible explanations: either Kennedy's seat was elevated, or Connally's seat was lowered. In both fashions there is photographic evidence of Kennedy's motorcade using either, if not both configurations. Also, if you look at the photos and frame by frames, you can notice that Connally's arm is up, barely resting against the lip of the vehicle, which lends itself to the theory in the video.

The whole affair is such a convoluted mess of grainy footage, haphazard photos, and mostly bungled witness testimony that it probably is impossible to tell who is right and how is wrong.

However, look at his life as a child, and you can see that even from a young age he was a disturbed individual. Also, take an unsettled mind and turn him onto communism and you have a recipe for problems. In fact, he tried to commit suicide when the Union refused to extend his visa. He also tried to to kill a US general 7 months before he shot Kennedy so there should be no doubt.

@OneVoiceMore If he was going to abolish the FBI and CIA, then why did he subsequently double or triple their budgets and personnel allowances the years leading up to his assassination? Was it because he fired the CIA and FBI heads? No, he was good friends with both, and they were performing poorley. He commented that "if this were the UK I'd have to resign for your mistakes. But its not, so I am going to ask you to do it." Although he let them stay on nearly six months more afterwards.

Myers misrepresents where the jump seat is in the Limo, it is NOT 6 inches inboard of the door, it is 2.5 inches inboard, this can be verified by the schematics of the limo. They VERY CLEARLY state the jump seat is 2.5 inches from the door! So in his animation he has to move JCB 3.5 inches to his left, and just like that the trajectory works just fine! I wonder if the trajectory will still work if we place the Governor's seat where it ACTUALLY was?
