I remember watching some of his segments of Meet The Press on Sundays. This is truly a shock; it seems that all of the media giants are passing away. Jim McKay (The guy who covered the tragedy of the '72 Olympics) and now Russert. Ironically at the height of both the Summer Olympics and the 2008 Elections. Both will be missed.
