Whoah thanks for uploading! For being a pilot its not too bad and they kept the main music as well and shortened to 30 seconds per rounds. I am so glad they choe a different assistant :-)
What I don't understand is that I have seen a little bit of Calendar Countdown and the studio was all brown and a bit tatty. If this is the pilot, why is the studio not like what saw b4 by another youtube user??
Well that was quite a rough production. The rules were not favourable in having a close contest, there were too many long spaces where nothing much happened and the transition between rounds was not smooth. As now, thousands of episodes later, it proves that there was a great idea in this somewhere!
I can see why they changed the format! It's only a pilot I know but its understandable why they never broadcast it. The actual series was much clearer and cleaner in format.
Filthy? Yeah, I guess so, once you notice the "hostess" with the big boobs in her halter top. Special added brownie points for her not being able to remember the difference between a vowel and a consonant.

Well that last round was so utterly easy it's ridiculous... Teatime Teaser stuff. At least in the initial takes.

That bloke at the end waving that Yorkshire end board around at the end looks a bit like Emlyn Hughes.
So during normal recordings I suppose the end board was steaded on an easel was it?

This is great - so many mistakes it reminds me of the Noel Edmonds Gotcha episode.
Just glad Yorkshire TV persevered with the programme, despite the teething problems.

"Let's have a toss off", "he'll knock out one of those ladies". Who knew Countdown was so filthy? And I love the way that woman refuses to smile!
