I remember the first time i completed this with 100 Rings, i felt like such a boss. Came up to the Chaos Emerald stage and has fell into the nearest end zone i could find.

I think I was about 4 or 5 when I first played sonic, I remember taking so long because I always wanted to get every ring lol. Greatest game ever!!!!!!

You gotta watch what floats your boat. I recon though, that whenever they are not speed runs,

you might as well just play by yourself to explore the levels.

The programmers really made a good first impression with this first level. The music is perfect and memorable. The artistic style and color scheme is so perfect, you'd never guess that the Genesis had only 512 colors.

@ecchibanzaii It could use 64 simultaneous colors from a palette of 512. Pretty inferior to the 32768 color pallet that the SNES had. You can really see the difference in games like Mortal Kombat and Earthworm Jim.
