  • When ever I see this vid. I have seen it before, I get a great heaviness of heart and then deep longing for something that seems so far away.

  • ""HOLY NATIVE AMERICANS WOOD" on Youtube! Music: Last of the Mohicans"

  • Wahnsinnig guter Film zu derzeit, fand ich sehr gut mit fantastischer Musik!!!

Amazing good movieto this time, i found that movie so great with fantastic music!

  • 0:50 THE BEST :)

  • wasp r evil

  • Don't mean to complain, but (a) this is not the soundtrack recording -- it's a band arrangement (excellently played); and (b) I'm pretty sure the last part of the suite (from @7::00 on) is actually a portion of Randy Edelman's GETTYSBURG score.

  • @mac231208

    a) yes .. thats why i put "medley" in the title. (not the original)

    b) please provide a link. i would be very interested in that.

    greetz

  • @glossybutton - thank you Glossybutton for your upload - watched the film last night - can't believe it's been made 20 years ago and it's still so beautiful - the music theme Gael is so inspiring. I also watched the Edinburgh Tattoo in the rain in 2008 and The Last of the Mohicans was played there and marched to.

  • @mac231208 Actually 6:11 on to the end is from This score. It's played in the scene when Duncan is going to see Cora near the beginning of the flick. He's in a stage coach holding a locket with her picture in it. It's always been one of my favorite tunes in one of my favorite movies of all time.

  • Makes me want to live back in that time period

  • @94Airsoftsnipergod not me

  • Glossybutton, I have a blog site that talks about films. I did a page recommending the great LAST OF THE MOHICANS and included your video as a link. You did such a beautiful job with both the film editing and music compelation that I couldn't see how I couldn't show off this masterpiece any other way! I give you the recognition on the site for your work. Thank you!. You can see it on: cinemacounterpoint.blogspot.com

  • @mexicancomic13 thx for the credits... nice blog! gonna keep reading

  • fuckin magua.

  • the best movie and sound track of 92 by far .

  • the best and sound track of 92 by far .

  • Thus only a century after the independence of the colonies of North America from the Atlantic to the Pacific was in the hands of former colonists who had swept the indigenous population that lived thousands of years

  • except perhaps the crown by fear of growing economic power and population of these colonies will want time to stop the march to the west by restrictive laws may be arbitrary and serve as a pretext for the settlers ever eager to land will not hesitate to turn against their rulers legitimate and against their mother country to satisfy their thirst for power and conquest.

  • In fact the war in America began in 1754 two years before the official start of the conflict! The rivalry between the two colonial powers on the one hand, and especially the willingness of the English colonists (later Americans) to move still further west are the main causes!

In any case, this war will be the beginning of the end for the Indians since once defeated France there'll no longer foreign power that could stop the westward march of English settlers

  • There will be blood in this movie.

  • i love this movie, i love this amazing soundtrack - just touching the heart, i love the natives and the mankind, i love my enemy, i love the way of life from the natives - they realy understand living with the nature and not against it. i love you! peace and namaste!

  • so which one are you probably both aye!!!!!!! ends

  • 0 dislikes is what I love to see this shows how epic this film and music is all together thanks for putting this video together :)

  • I have to dissagree. While the soundtrack to this movie is beautiful, powerful and moving, it is not the best ever. (the actual movie soundtrack is much better than this video's version - I'm assuming this is dubbed from an orchestral concert?) The "best soundtrack ever" title belongs to John Barry's score to Dances With Wolves, IMHO...

  • Love this film. 'Magua' was apparently the Osama Bin Laden of 250 years ago. It just shows how a life filled with nothing but Hatred & Murder never ends well...

  • @rexbo2000 Great prejudice... British Empire exploited the indians, Magua was a victim who fought against them. His life was broken by the british army... what did you do if you were in his shoes? Yes, he was murder and he hated a lot of people - it wasnt rarely in the history and british and french soldiers and the mohicans were murders, too... But of course i prefer these mohicans:) And this is my favourite movie

  • the different intruments sound alright but prefare the other ones in the film good job though

  • the music is perfectly timed for that hunting scene

  • Ahhh! I remember the last time I went hunting elk running through the forest top speed making all the noise I could and acting all drematic lol I hope everyone catches the sarcasm, GIMME A BREAK! great film but no one especially native americans hunted anything this way....

  • common guys stop aruging in segregatly and enjoy the music and seee how much was great and impressive

  • @grashaeftl How did someone mistake this for a movie about WWII? This movie takes place before the civil war

  • @Thirtiesguy

"The Last of the Mohicans" took place during the "French and Indian War" (1756-1763) which was before the American Revolutionary War (1776 -1783)

The actual events took place in the Adirondack mountains of New York State. The "Mahicans" were a genuine tribe.

    -------

The "French and Indian War" was the American theatre of the "Seven Years War" which was a war between Britain, Prussia, some smaller German states & Portugal, vs. France Spain , Austria, Sweden and Saxony.

  • @BoudiccaBlanc ........so like I said it was before the civil war.

  • Can any of us understand what these people lived through? I can't.

    Thank you for posting.

    Bobby..

To my ancestors who lived and died in NY State during this time.....

  • @palonejr Well, we were still back in Italy at the time. I had a reading with a psychic that works with police and she told me I was a widow in 1757, NY. This reading was in '87. I always felt connected to these characters; but again this all occurred in my backyard.

  • exelente resumen, felicidades...

  • favourite movie, favourite book, and favourite soundtrack :)

  • é o melhor filme de toda minha vida !!!!!!!!!!

  • Magestic both the music and the movie.

  • Can someone please upload the FULL fighting scene at 1:26 ?

  • The best movie!

  • what is the name of the native actor in the blue shirt? :)

  • @leii93nad if you mean the older of the three, that portrays the character of chingachgook, his name is russell means,

  • General Montcalm--scum sucking bastard, son of a whore, war criminal and a disgrace.

  • @msotolongo589

Don't judge these people by the "Politically Correct" views of the 21st century. Historical figures must be judged within the context of their culture and historic period.

  • @BoudiccaBlanc You make a valid point. Montcalm was depicted in history as heroically physically intervening and shouting at the attackers to withdraw. Monuments are erected to his memory. But he knew or should have known what the result would be as a consequence of his order. He either made a colossal blunder in judging the reaction of his native allies or he wanted his enemies eliminated at all costs. Either way, he bears responsiblity for a massacre.

  • this is the best movie//and great music //peder

  • More epic than Gladiator.

  • should be great music combined with a good WW2 movie

  • This movie is so fucking epic I literally want to rip my own nuts off

  • @mrfalafl

i could not agree more. so epic it is bad for your health. in fact, i watched this movie on fast forward and one of my got lost. so i told it- wherever you go, i will find you!

then i realized my nut had come back to me.

    i

  • Saw this when it came out and have ben seeing it the same way ever since...

With jaw dropped, intently listening to every note word and vision...From a movie fan from silents, film noir foreign, etc...this is my alltime best film, Michael Mann should have got best director and whole film should have swept Oscars...

  • I remember running in the woods like they were doing in the beginning. In Alaska we had nothing but room to run in. I miss the freedom we had living in the woods up there. And now we live in the south (KY) and there are always fences so we can't run like that anymore.

  • 0:52 FACE PLANT!!!

  • this is a great ski movie/ good lines./ bikini babes / and of course micheal douglas.

  • hört sich am anfang n bisschen an wie bei herr der ringe...

  • Take a look at 5:35... that is definitly a french frontiersman fighting with that indian war party....

  • @morningtruth LOL! You´re right :)

  • couldnt agree with you more... love movies such as braveheart king arthur apocolypto (spell check)...the right music adds so much to a great story.. and this is a great example... off to watch it now

  • @68kira - I think it is Apocalypso - a mixture of apocalipse and calipso, an afro-caribean deity who was named after as a dance rythym. Actually, Mel Gibson´s movie is a quite right hystorical apocalipse for the central (and north south American indigenous peoples. As it was the British and French colonization of Noth America for native peoples, that this movie, based on the classicle famous book, is romantically but pungently showing.

  • anyone know the composer and orchestra?

  • @Reppy311 One of the composers is Douggie MacLean, a scotish fiddle player, who named it "The Gael". I learned this by a coment to another version of this movie and song posted here, at YouTube. It´s worth a look at it. Beautifull.

  • The best movie I have ever seen !

How noble people they were. After killing the hart, they hold hommage and render thanks to him for having food to survive.

Compared to nowadays aerial hunting of rich Amis when they shoot defenceless wolves just for having fun and avoiding ennui.

  • @cheyen123 Yes, they were nobles and pure! I love this Film. I can see what I immage when adolescent I read the roman, and felt in love with the British Columbia..never seen it! but her I find just what I image. I am old. 66 y. I love it..this film it goes straight to my heart!

  • @franco96544 Hi Franco, it is nice to read such a message from you. Yes, this movie materializes inner world of my heart as well. Great one ! Age does not matter when we are speaking about heart.

    Have a good time Franco.

  • @cheyen123 naives stilldo that .im from oklahoma,my family hunts and everything is used.and bones are buried given back to earth.we sure dont mount them or keep their heads.ahd the killing is done with a bow.and the novel is better than the movie.graet soundtrack.

  • @redmachine97 It is great. You are lucky man. May I know which tribe are you from ?

You are right, the book is better than the movie for people who are interested in.

  • @cheyen123 choctaw full blood wolf clan, uncles that taught me were 173 air borne my grand father was a code talker.we grew up in southeastern oklahoma .we are from mississippi ;our people were fishermen .until andrew jackson ran us out,we had no place to go so we settled here with the rest of the southern tribes .what u call civillized .so our people had to adapt to survive ,we started to hunt& track.we could always do that but that was the livelyhood now.ill tellu more .

  • @redmachine97 Hi, sorry for my late reaction to your interesting writing. Yes, I would like to know more about your way of life now, when respect to the nature, to the earth is something not in demand in this civilization. Looking forward to your feedback.

  • I love this movie and soundtrack. Five stars!!!!!!

  • I already know this sakiaki, I'm 1/4 Cherokee

  • Tomiman... Hate to break it to you, the white settlers killed almost all the buffalo, not the indians. Learn your history before calling someone a nazi!

  • they also killed the indians, so why dont you learn your history

  • Thanks for this! This is my favourite movie soundtrack!

  • actually it was us, dude. i hate to say it but the americans killed most native american tribes during the early to mid 1800s. look it up

  • brilliant work!
