  • I love guitar music because to everyone it tells a different story. Lyrics are great but sometimes they are just not needed. Beautiful piece.

  • If a guitar had something to say...this is what it would want too say. Simply put Craig you are just an incredibly creative guitar master.

  • i watch the first 20 second... then a put the subscribe button!

    this is just... amazing!

  • Very good music! Craig D'Andrea is a very good guitarist. I also really love "And Then You Moved to New Jersey," "Three Mile Bikeride," & "In With the Purple and Out With the Blue."

  • dude this is so epic. repeat button is getting destroyed!

  • i like yur stuff man... respet

  • What purpose does the tape or paper have on the headstock...cool...it works whatever it is....I ordered mine just a minute ago...if it helps this much...lol...Great work Craig...I can always tell your tunes man...you have a unique style...my favorite actually....Thanks for being a guitarist bro....Scotty

  • @botchedup76 The cloth by the headstock acts as a dampener, to stop open strings ringing out too much. Pretty useful with this sort of music.

  • @MrJlv10 its actually to stop ringing above the nut when the strings are strummed then muted quickly, not to dampen open notes.

  • the part starting at 1:50 is so awesome

  • This song is soo good, it is beyond words. It puts me in an unreal place, like the world has melted away and I am just left at one. Thanks Craig for writing one of the greatest songs ever.

  • @AbsentMindedProfs took the words right out of my thoughts!!

  • What's the cloth at the top of his guitar for? I've seen people do it before, but does it make a difference in sound or is it just for decoration?

  • @PikajewElectricRabbi the cloth (wether its a bandana or just some felt) helps to mute feedback noise, its usually really subtle but it does make a difference.

  • @PikajewElectricRabbi Watch the Antoine Dufour FAQ video; he demonstrates it there. When you strum a chord and then subsequently silence it, the bits of string between the nut and the tuners still ring out slightly, in a high-pitched buzz. It can be "annoying," so the cloth is there to silence that ringing out.

  • This is my favorite song by Craig

  • I've been following Craig D'Andrea for several years waiting for his writing skills to mature to match his physical ability and talent. Alas, Craig D'Andrea is the man and musician I've always wanted him to be and thought he could be!

  • too sic

  • shit...

he seems so peaceful while he's playing. Each note at a time, and very calmly...

Great work, keep it up. ^^

  • I wanted to express what I think about this song, but I realize that words unfortunately can't describe this amazing work.

  • Beautiful song!! Love the outro!

  • Yes, I'll stand still!!

  • till 2:20 he doesn't show any emotions whatsoever.. but check him after 2:23 till end .. he likes it and rocks his head all along .. u can feel the passion this guy has

  • holy, beautiful

  • what is that guitar tuning?

  • What type of pick up is that?

  • @lostinyournightmares k&k i think

  • absolute favorite.

  • Saw him live yesterday. Great performer, really funny and personable onstage, I had a workshop with him and Dufour before the show and they're both great guys and amazing musicians. These guys deserve way more recognition and support than they get!

  • This song is like raw energy

  • I don't know about you guys but i am definitley not standing still while listening to this...Amazing work

  • I had the great privilege last night of seeing him live and having him sign his new cd for me. He is a great performer and seems like a really nice guy. Don't miss seeing him live.

  • TALENT

  • This song is superbly written. The melody, the bridge, and the fills... Craig plays the changes.

  • The mic quality almost made me not watch this, but your playing was to sensational and awesome.

  • Listen to this, I think he wants to say that there are times when we might fall down on our own roads, no matter how hard we fall, eventually we will overcome the fear of falling down and just keep moving on no matter what, although the pain we have to go through is enormous.

  • The middle section is awesome!

  • does anyone know the tuning ?

    EADGAD

    DADGAD

    or

    ECDGAD (like Andy McKee)

  • @myownmurder678 CGEbFGBb

  • @craigd19 Does that tuning have a designation?

  • @myownmurder678 DGBCBA

  • I can't hear my roommates bullshit when I put on my headphones and listen to this!! It brings inner peace.

  • You can hear his soul flows through the very strings

  • This guy is my new second favourite guitarist! if you're wondering, i grew up learning and listening to tommy emmanuel, and no-one can surpass him in my mind. but for this genre of music, which is totally different to Tommy, this guy is way up there. Him and Antoine Dufour. What a legend.

  • Like a jacket............for your ear"s genitalia...........when its really cold outside.

  • MUSIC

  • beyond words.... what a song

  • Craig actually is coming out with a new album April 26th! He told me the CD's were looking really good too!

  • i can actually wear out this song...still listening ...

  • All guys that work for candyrat have 1 same thing: their music represents such deep soul that we all have to slow down and forget pretty much everything else to listen. Beautiful

  • ive discovered a new world when i found candyrat records. their website is going to be raped by my credit card from ordering so many cds off of it

  • fuck my school project, im gonna watch craig all night

  • @GarretsShadow there ya go

  • i am inlove

  • holy moly

  • Wow, this tune tells such an amazing story. Really awesome work here!

  • @lumbanator whats the amazing story it tells? I thought they were just notes combined together to make utter beauty.\

  • @Silezes Haven't you heard this metaphor before? If a tune tells you a story it is in how it entices the listener in, makes them wonder what will happen next, lets the listener explore different feelings through different passages and eventually the listener will come to the end of the song having gone through a emotional journey with the artist. If the artist writes a particularly emotive piece like this and does it well as Craig has done here, he manages to successfully engage his audience. :)

  • @lumbanator i like the bit where the teddy bear is crossing the road.... =3

  • @lumbanator lol what story is that? it just sounds nice..

  • do you have the tabs for this? cuz its like my new favorite song and i cant find tabs anywheree

  • 30 people couldn't just stand still and accidentally thumbed down this masterpiece

  • @GuitarViktorable

I've "thumbs downed" a video that i meant to "thumbs up".

It sucks that YT doesn't really have a function for corrections.

  • The first time i heard this song i knew i wanted to play it, but i don't have a baritone guitar, so i use F# A C# G# B E and the tabs bought from rpo land to practice.. hmm this song is so dreamy.

  • I listen to this, and it feels like I'm drowning. The music feels like an ocean crashing down around my head, and the waves carry me away to some place far from here. I love it. :)

  • 2:10

This make me want to throw my guitar down a sewer.

  • The outro is the best.

  • very romantic.....

  • Holy wow....

  • Wow, how beautiful

  • 30 people had a bad day :(

  • bet that 30 people before thumbed down this song had nasty diarrhea in the morning

  • If you like Craig D'Andrea check out my original acoustic solos and let me know what you think!

  • @jbswcacmbc

    no

  • this song totally gives me a ear boner, i'm gonna have to wear ear muffs if i go in public. might need a shot to make it go down

  • i was a little far away from the tunning, by the way, i love this song

  • i was a little far away from the tunning

  • how that cloth thingo is there

  • really good song!!

i've a question: Is this played on a baritone guitar?

  • @Jvangastel11 yes

  • let me ask, the tunning, is D G D G B d ?

  • @simondetorres C# E G# D# F# B

  • 30 people pretty much can't stand still while watching this video

  • @ariessflare they disliked it because they are jealous

  • Immortal. Even, obama, petrol, facebook, economic crisis and drugs can't change cthe purity of this song.

  • @toxicity187 lol your comment did.

  • @ShivsyMe Hahaha, I second that notion.

  • must be a FKIN Stonebridge!

  • @femaleguitar18 hahaha no... I've had Craig as a teacher and I've played this song on this guitar. It's a Beneteau. Hand-made, and costs about three times as much as a stonebridge. It's an amazing instrument.

  • I've played this song on this guitar :D

  • lol im totally falling in love with this style of music

  • 30 justin beiber fans saw this vid and didnt get anything

  • @F91yzg HAHAHA, yes best comment ever

  • That outro is fucking lovely.

  • This is definitely a good song. Full of emotion.

  • I don't get it.... What kind of people go around disliking stuff like this? 30 people disliked this video when I checked...? Ok guys. Everyone got their laptops? Now, on the count of three, get ready to dislike as many Youtube videos as possible

  • @dannyboy54w Kinda dude, it seems that way.. I mean I'm a very big dave matthews fan and could never imagine anyone not liking him.. but on some his best songs you'll see dislikes everywhere... it makes me cry :/

  • @Progressionification Wow man, I'm sorry to hear that.

  • @rpoland What are the chances of you sending some tabs to a broke brother who wants to get into this music? A little charity :D

  • @JetJoeStudios there is absolutely no chance

  • wow!!like this kinda players

  • why the cloth thingy on the head?

  • @barrhh84 It keeps the strings above the nut from ringing.

  • eargasim!

  • 1:50-2:23 = pure bliss.

  • Become a fan of Craig D'Andrea on facebook and help him get over 1000 fans!

    facebook.com/pages/Craig-DAndrea/76607730077

    brilliant mate

  • props on all the video's, gonna pick up a copy of the album in jus a moment..

jus wondering what mic it is that your using?

or if anyone else knows.. would be greatly appreciated..

    thanks guys

  • this is unbelievably nice

you should also check out maneli jamal, what a legend :)

  • @thouawesomeone Jamal is excellent but IMHO Craig's melodies are far superior.

  • Rpoland guys play guitars as if they were pianos. The thing is they just have 6 strings! Thumbs up you guys =).

  • Piękna muzyka:D

  • Question:

I have several tab books, the hard to get masa sumide/ryohei shimoyama kind in many of them it will say the tuning, for example DADGBD but then underneith written "tune down half a step to match recording" or "recording sounds a half step lower than written" Someone explain this age old mystery to me. I never understand why they cant just put the tuning and leave it at that.

    Thank you in advance! James.

  • @3245james I think you would have to ask the person at your local music shop, or wherever you got your guitar, or instrument.

  • Craig, I think your a very cool guy.

  • szép :D

  • I bought the tabs but I can't figure out how he does the harmonic at 2:22, because it's not written in the tabs..?

  • I am definitely going to be buying tabs. I bought this CD and I listen to it every chance I get at work, makes a crazy and stressful day seem to slow down and it calms me down. And while I am listening, the whole time I think about trying to learn these songs. Craig is another one of those musicians I could listen to for hours on end without getting tired of it (and I do). I wish more people would appreciate this type of music, because it is wonderful. Keep it up Craig!

  • what tuning is this in? amazing song btw.

  • Sweet! love your playing Craig. Really sounds good.

  • anyone know what the piece of cloth is next to the nut of the guitar???

  • @stupidelvis It eliminates the string's buzz.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Excellent..!! A real mood setter..! =)

  • just absolutely brilliant

  • so emotional and talented..

  • i want that type of string, anybody know what kind he uses?

  • It's such a shame that untalented people are so famous, when the people with the real talent, like this guy, are just so unknown.

  • i don't need to hear music with lyrics in it anymore

  • Yeah I agree that ending is just fantastic.

  • That ending riff is probably one of the best endings of a song I've ever heard.

  • I recently subscribed to rpoland's channel and everyone that has came up is ncredible at playing the guitar, and that's still not giving the artists any justice. I was wondering if most of the people went to musicscool or are some just that naturlly great?? Either way, thank you rpolad and candyrat records.

  • @u34919728 the viewers are given them justice , and I would say.. no , no need to go to music school.. talent is not learned there .. :)

  • @u34919728 Anyone can get good at guitar with enough time and experience.

  • @u34919728 I know that Andy went to teacher for Electric guitar lesson, but not on fingerstyle but Master Dufour went to teacher for fingerstyle.

  • absolutely gorgeous!

  • If you are interested in Craig D'andrea's gear:

Guitar used: Beneteau 27" Baritone (Padauk/Englemann)

Pickups: L.R. Baggs M-1 with iMix (On this Baritone)

K&K Transducers for all of his other Guitars.

  • if you took Andy Mckee's "art of motion" and tuned it to baritone, you'd have the tuning for this song. so if you're interested in learning this song but dont have a baritone just tune to F#AC#G#BE and try to take it from there... and while you're at it, learn mckee's art of motion too, it's really fun to play and great to show off! =D

  • @L0wps Thanks man

  • A lot of hard work and raw emotion went into composing this piece. Thanks to whoever posted it. @AcousticDiscoMetal1: the tuning is C# E G# D# (or Eb) F# B

  • Well... it must be a bari guitar... because if you drop the tuning to that on a regular guitar your strings would be loose as hell! Or so tight they'd snap!

  • its just B standard with a raised B(C#) and A(G#)

he Probably uses a heavier Gauge

    .014 - .059 I would presume

    (:

  • I bet Craig would argue against the raw emotion part! Just doing what he does... thats all

  • Why? Pay attention to facial expressions, he devotes the full emotional capacity to every song he plays.

  • What kind of guitar/pick ups is he using? Also, are all these videos recorded by Candyrat?

  • better watch it in hd if u wanna learn it ..

  • what's the tuning? thanks

  • @ DanishGuitar -- Its not tape at the top of the neck, its a piece of cloth. The portion of the string that is above the fretboard heading to the tuning pegs vibrates and creates sound too on a hard strum. Its meant to deaden any noise from that part of the string and make the natural harmonics of the song more pronounced and clear. Same reason guys like Antoine Dufour have a bandanna tied on their guitar.

  • Thanks for all your videos.

  • Wow, my laptop seems to like this music too. It plays it in HD on full volume with no speaker distortion what-so-ever and the whole thing just vibrates...^^

  • this song makes me feel carefree.

  • I love his music. I enjoy listening to all the candy rats, but Craig's music "to me" is the most enjoyable. I also think his abilities as a musician are of the highest caliber. All of his songs tell a story and are loaded with feeling and emotion.

  • @DreBull1

yeah definately. I only just heard his stuff but immediately prefer him to all the others, including Andy McKee i might add.

  • what about antoine dufour :O

  • Is there a reason why i put tape on the strings at top?

Gives any special effect or sound?

  • looks like a cloth to me, i guess it would dampen the buzz that you sometimes get from there, but it may just be for cleaning the guitar.

  • @DanishGuitar95 - it mutes the strings, tightens um up etc. (Y)

  • I always listen to that song when I`m driving my car! at home too of course :P Craigs playing is absolutely impressive!!

  • sex 4 my ears

  • @81dj09 nice

  • @81dj09 Pssh....It's sex for my dick.Yeah that just happened I fucked music!

  • This guy has left the art of music in a better state than he found it.

  • what kind of stile is this

  • fingerstyle

  • @xarmagedonx2012

    How about just beautiful?

  • FINGERstyle! Oh yeah! [cue Kool-Aid pitcher]

  • so talented i want one of candyrats guitarrist for my project, that would be something new

  • this sounds tasty ohhh hoooo
