  • I love that you have these videos online. I love listening to it while I'm away at college.

  • re the line "It's also scriptural to have 10 song leaders if you wish. As it is not specified"....the logic puzzles me. so if it's "not specified", it's "scriptural". Mind you, I don't find it (multiple song leaders) UN-scriptural. I don't think the scriptures say anything about any song leaders. I don't see that kind of operations manual in the Bible. Just wondering re: the logic in that post.

  • Amen, It is a great blessing to be in the Church Of Christ :) Love you all brothers and sisters in Christ.

  • Amen, It is a great blessing to be in the Church Of Christ :) Love you all brothers and sisters in Christ.

  • where u located i go to eubank ch of christ in eubank, ky

  • porsche91476 yes The Church of Christ has always been around. It has been here ever since Jesus established it. We are even mentioned by name in the bible. When Paul was writing to the church in Rome in Romans 16:16 he tells them to greet one another with a holy kiss. "All the Churches of Christ greet you."

  • you have the worst fucking voice ever. it sounds like alley cats fighting

  • I didn't know it was scriptural to have 2 song leaders.

  • @Beecky333 The song leader is there as an aid, to keep the congregation together so that we CAN worship God. it is most likely that It was after the sermon, an invitation had been extended, and the person that extended the invitation is standing by the person leading the singing. however, as far as 2 song leaders being scriptural, it would be fine, if the congregation was so large that it required 2 men to keep it together, but they are worshipping WITH the congregation.

  • It's also scriptural to have 10 song leaders if you wish. As it is not specified. But since you are confused. The man to the right is the preacher and this is the song of encouragement for anyone to come forward and seek the church to pray for them or encourage them or be immersed in the holy waters of baptism by the church after confessing the name of the Holy Jesus Christ before men.

  • How the heck did I end up here?

  • Nice invitational song! I lead that one sometimes. Has a really good inner meaning. nice to see these songs on here. I attend Church of Christ in Muncie IN. and I'm a new songleader so these postings are pretty inspiring.

  • I really like the fact that the Church of Christ is posting these videos on the youtube, because it spreads the word on how the real church should be set up. I also, go to to Southwest Church of Christ, and it's great to see this on the Internet.

  • @samluken93 - southwest COC in columbus ohio?

  • and his voice is AMAZING! thats the way to my heart!=)

  • the song leader is absolutly the most handsome guy i have ever seen and if he wanted to move here to MT and go to glacier church of christ...id marry him in 5 sec! lol

  • thanks so much for the last comment--The Lorrd knows when we are praising HIM-- and understands our level of understanding

  • The person who is humming "way off key" is a man who is mentally challenged. He lives in a group home. We pick him up every service. He is the epitome of love. When the offering plate is passed, he will put in whatever coins he has. To him, a penny is the same as a check for a thousand dollars. He gives because he loves God. His humming "off key" may just be the most joyful noise in the congregation to our Lord. Blesisngs.

  • I am a christian who attends Suitland Road Church of Christ, and let me just say that this a great inspiration to see this on youtube. :D

  • Im a minister at a church of christ what a wonderful blessing this is seeing cherry st spreading the gospel by singing gods word. God bless you all and i hope you continue gods great works. Id be glad to come visit that church and preach.

  • LOL at the woman singing the bass line....I love this hymn though

  • LOL...I agree...however as a woman with a deeper voice than most, I cannot reach the higher notes without sounding sick..lol...so I tend to sing the bass lines too! LOL

  • I'm not trying to be ugly, but whoever was humming sure was way off key....its just funny.

  • no, not a one cup church--

  • Yes we do not use wine we use the fruit of the vine in it's untainted by alcohol state. Thus is it unsanitary to share a single cup. Also we are not ordered to use one cup in mark/luke/corinthians, so its irrelevant.

  • is this a one cup Church????

  • I don't think so, if you look behind the guy on the left you see 2 stacks of 4 trays sitting on a table, 1 stack is for the bread and the other stack holds those little shot glasses of fruit of the vine.

    I could be wrong though.

  • well I am, well I guess you guys know how we feel about that. lol but good job on the singing though, I love this song.

  • May I inquire of you, what is a "one cup church"?

  • Great to see the instrumental music in worship debate is alive and well! And, back in 1988, some Christian Church man told me the debate was over when the Civil War ended! LOL I am so happy to see christians arguing about that issue!

  • Eph. 5:19 Speaking to yourself psalms and hyms singing and making melody in your heart. The church of christ is the lords church there is no other church. Romans 16:16 The only church mentioned. I have read most of the bible and my Gpa has been a minister for 55 years and we have yet to find another church mentioned in the bible I am waiting for some one to prove me wrong.

  • Actually it is not literally "the church of Christ"

EVERY christian church IS a Church of Christ.

That is why so many people misunderstand the Bible. They take it LITERALLY.

  • Amen. The reference of Romans 16:16 is not a designated name. It is a general grouping of Christian churches. There are many names in the Bible; church of God, church of the firstborn, Body of Christ, House of God, church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth, church at Ephesus, church at Corinth, etc. Moreover the singular name church of Christ is nowhere find in the Bible so it is not even likely as a name designation. Bottom line is get over the name issue and all LEGALISM!

  • Yes using a name of the church that is in the bible is naming it correctly. Any name you do not find for the church in the bible was invented by who for whom? We made this choice because our church continues to reappear anywhere in the world where the bible is taken in its entirety. And when those churches name themselves they don't randomly invent names that were not in the bible for themselves.

  • Not only is A Capella the only type of singing allowed in the bible but its so much more beautiful to listen to

God bless you all My brothers and sisters in Christ

Read the end of Psalms. Also you haven't been to many cofCs have you? There is awful singing too.

  • Would you mind telling me the book and verse that you are referring to that indicates A Capella being the only type of singing allowed?

    thank you

  • In answer to your question: there is no such verse. The top part of my post was quoting someone else. The bottom is my reply. Sorry I should have put quotes.

I finally left the church of Christ over such matters as this, matters where legalism is more important than grace. I now believe they are a cult as many do, being that they say their interpretation of scripture and their works are the ONLY way to heaven. Not only that but they kick you when you're down: bad fruits.

  • Ephesians 5:19 "Speaking to yourselves in psalms, hymns & spiritual songs, singing, making melody in your heart to the Lord;"This is one of the scriptures they base acapella singing on:"singing & making melody in your heart".They go by "do not add to or take away from"any of the scriptures n the New Testament 2 present this pure way of singing. The churchofChrist traces its' roots back 2 Alexander Campbell who was a very devout Christian n 1800s&broke away from the established church of the day.

  • In reality we trace our roots all the way back to the day of Pentecost. When the apostles were ferociously spreading the good news in a unadulterated way. Other Christians have complained about our devotion to the Word of God ever since. Martain Luther complained that we were following the Word of God alone in 1502 etc.. The church of Christ has always been around. Romans 16:16. However just one of our returns to the Word of God was around Cambell and Stone in the US.

  • Mind telling us what verses tell you to do otherwise?

  • Shocking! Heartbreaking! Indeed! If God through the Spirit guided the apostles into all truth: (John 16:13), and if by divine guidance their music consisted solely of a capella singing by the congregation: which it did (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16); should not this be our practice today? I think so! Secular trends are not safe criteria for Christians to follow; neither are personal whims.

  • praise God..alwys thank him for his wonderful blessings..REgards to the brethren of caloocan church of christ in Phils..Bro bedz keep up the good work..God bless po.

  • Wonderful singing. Member of Church of Christ as well. Loved listening to the song.

  • Not only is A Capella the only type of singing allowed in the bible but its so much more beautiful to listen to

God bless you all My brothers and sisters in Christ

  • God bless you too!

    In Christian Love,

    Michelle

  • Ahh Iam so blessed to be a member of the lords church, which teaches the bible only. Thanks for this video. God bless you all,and lets all keep defending the gospel-yours for the gospel brother Van

  • @godslilgirl777 Have you ever READ the bible? It is full of people praising God, by singing, dancing and playing many types of instruments. No where in the bible does it say that we are to sing A Capella only or that musical instruments are not allowed. Maybe you should actually read God's word every once in a while instead of just believing everything people tell you.

  • @mrsdault Exactly where does it state anything about musical instruments within the worship service in the New Testament? If you can show me scripture then I'll believe it.

  • we appreciate your comments and the fact that you are being blessed by these songs--please share the link with others

  • sorry wrong person ment to type that to someone else

  • VERY encouraging song...it brings me back to my point of baptism at 16 years old! That was almost 2 years ago; and I remember it as the best day of my life; buried with Christ forever and emerging as a new creature; with such a beautiful day! Angels were singing redemption's sweet song!

  • Thanks for the words of encouragement-- we serve an Awesome God
