  • Got an error wen trying to restore the DB in 2nd instance:

    Restore failed for Server 'ZAFAR-PC\DEVDB'. (Microsoft.SqlServer.SmoExtend­ed)

    System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError­: The operating system returned the error '32(The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.)' while attempting 'RestoreContainer::ValidateTar­getForCreation' on 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER2\MS­SQL\DATA\AdventureWorks.mdf'.

  • in the end the DEV server has the adventureworks database being restore. is that right? because I cannot access to this database.
