  • This man is not famous enough.

    YOU NEED OSCARS MR FASSY!<3

  • Such a talented actor. He should have been getting oscar nods way before 2011.

  • Im in Donegal looking out the window at a wee river now.

  • the best thing about this scene is it goes on for nearly 15 mins and you cant take your eyes off him

    the man s a star

  • finally a real great actor! it's incredible how easy is for him to create a fascinating true personality, every time different, every time magic. that's charisma

  • Best scene in a movie ever! Thank you for posting.

  • Michael Fassbender is the new irish brando which is coincidence because brando had irish accestry.

  • Love this so much.

Is it just me or does Michael mess up at 2:48 and says river instead of stream, but then fixes it really fast? kinda cute lol. Saved the take!

  • @laurkenobi

    its called acting

  • @laurkenobi I thought so too but I read the Hunger script and it's actually written as such.

  • This whole scene is like 15 minutes long.. I can't believe how well they pulled it together. And how in the world they memorized it all..

He should have been nominated for an Oscar, I agree.

  • Michael Fassbender is an exceptionally gifted actor. The fact that he wasn't nominated for an Oscar for this is a crime against Motion Pictures.

  • This was dreadful film, very well acted though

  • He's actually German.

  • @NstyEN He's actually HALF German, being born in Germany, and grew up in Ireland, his mom's native country. He speaks fluent German, though.

  • Simply riveting. I couldn't take my eyes off him; I can't see to see how he plays Magneto. You deserve to go far, Mr. Fassbender; you're one hell of an character.

  • ARGH, I gotta watch the whole movie.

  • breathtaking performance. I cannot get over the extent of this films genius

  • Learning this for school, any advice?

  • It's so hard to watch a pretty thing like that die, even in film.

  • Breathtaking scene, heartbreaking statement of raison d'etre & motivation for upcoming hunger strike. Preceded by long single take bravura dialogue scene between him & the priest, & followed by silent detergent scene to allow viewers to absorb the arguments. This monologue is surprisingly visualized -cleverly not in its entirety- at the very end of the film, as lyrical tragic coda. Genius writing, genius directing, genius performance. Yes oscars, baftas, palm should have gone to all 3.

  • I am in love with this man <3

  • Top notch characterization. Wonderfully shot.

  • he looks a bit like jake gyllenhaal

  • longest conversation ever

  • hell of an actor this guy quite underrated. he was in inglourious bastards.

  • ahhhhh Gweedore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, I am very much looking forward to seeing this man get an Oscar, I only hope it is with his Irish accent, good luck Michael!

  • It's amazing how the dialogue seduces you into listening... and then five minutes fly by just like when someone tells you an interesting story in real life!! And it all rings with truth. Michael Fassbender is amazing.

  • Don't think I've seen anything this good, considering the accent and that it never cuts away. Straight up Brando stuff this.

  • The most inspiring argument for film acting as art that I ever saw.

  • 'donegal has to be the most beautiful place in ireland, i reckon'

  • Michael Fassbender could very well be the next Daniel Day Lewis, incredible actor. On the kingdom

  • I lived those times, he tells it well

    10 points!

  • how do i get this monologue? thanks

  • This whole scene was so memorable and welcome respite from the brutality and horror of the prison protest scenes. I loved the banter with the priest, the plumes of smoke in the shadows and the that the camera didn't pull into closeups for what seemed like ages, flawless and compelling acting throughout...

  • excellent northern irish accent, what an actor

  • @ramshock He is Northern Irish. His mothers from Antrim.

  • @wilsonnortheast He grew up in Kerry, therefore he is not from the north of Ireland.

  • @AbbottDorothy You know better than me. Never been to any of the places, it rains enough for me here lol.

  • @AbbottDorothy Kerry is in the South West of Ireland.

  • @AbbottDorothy Whoops, read that wrong sorry.

  • @ramshock wasn't he raised in Ireland?

  • @socertiger13 he was raised in south ireland...that makes the difference

  • @SuperIdelfonso Oh. I'm really interested in this. is the Northern Irish accent thicker?

  • @ramshock shouldn't be too hard as he's irish anyways lol

  • @ramshock It might have been easy for him since he is part irish and has the accent.

  • @ramshock cos he is irish dickhead.

  • @ramshock His mother is Northern Irish. Probably why he nailed the accent.

  • Comment removed

  • He is stupidly good is Mr. Fassbender.

  • easily one of the most inspiring speeches ever.

  • words cant describe michael's acting =)

  • This guy really does grab your attention. Michael Fassbender is a fantastic actor.

  • This man should have gotten an Oscar for this role.

  • @t0mmygur13 His role? More like this one shot (not scene), period.

  • fair goin to remember all that some legend

  • Wow, that was fast! :D THANK YOU!
