The economy is changing, our industries need to stragegize and innovate to help those who are being unemployed and folks looking for work may be retrained and hired. Government needs to do what it can to provide tax incentives to help business flourish and continue stimulus to do those things that private industry can't or won't.
my grandfather was born at the very top of the mountain out a now fire road across the road from the skyline entrance and then was move down to the otherside of the mountain into a town called wolftown into a resettlement house in 1939 and he said that it was hell the way people treated the mountain people when they moved down there so i wish everybody woud quit being bitchy about their lives its nowhere near as tough as these people had it
Very good montage. I grew up raised by people who had survived the Great Depression. I wonder if we'll have a meaningful program like the CCC, to bring some people through the current crisis.
The most evil occult called the Illuminati intentionally started the first great depression and now their next agenda is to make 1929 look like a picnic. Then they will force everyone to get the R.F.I.D. Chip implanted into their right hand or forehead and those who refuse the chip won't be able to buy or sell with their bank accounts. It's also tracking device. Google and Youtube - Svali, Illuminati, New World Order, R.F.I.D. Chip and start researching on your own. Don't be dumb sheep study
You have a bunch of American kids over seas giving their lives for us. I would consider that hard times when ur life is in danger every minute u r there. You have millions of American kids living in ghettos starving and getting shot at every night so not all of us got it easy stewedtomato.
Those days are quickly returning. Although I dont forsee the same end as last time.
Our society is too fat, lazy and basically we are a society of comfort-loving consumers. Back then I'd say a majority of people understood a hard days work and had never heard of TV or airconditioning.
The same super rich bankers that caused the first depression are getting ready to do it again... look into it. Same families, same comapanies, same goals. Totally different outcome this time, IMO
With the current US Banking and Credit Crisis, Massive Personal and Gvt Debt levels, and the dollar losing its Reserve currency status, we will most likely be resigned to this same fate once again very soon
I agree. It will get very tough within the next decade, most likely withing a couple years. I don't think it will ever get as bad as the first depression however, but it will be very very tough.

The Displaced Mountaineers segment reminds me of Resident Evil 4.
It also reminds me of my great-grandmother, she lived in the Depression and had a cabin in Southwest Virginia.

Nice. For more Depression Era photographs and original song by the Thomas Brothers, watch their movie Pennyland.
