it does not have online multiplayer but you can play it together with someone who has the same game

this looks like a cool game but do you get to pick the character you play as or does it follow a story line where your jack one level and will the next?

If follows a story line where you play as a character suited for that level but once you have completed that level you have about 40 characters to choose from and play as.

(Btw At World's End also takes you through Dead Man's Chest which is pointless because it's not a lot different to the last game anyway but ah well...) It's a decent game but it's too repetitive. It needed more variety.
