  • Alexander seems so intimidating.

  • I thought her accent was pretty :/

  • Wtf? It wasn't a bad movie but why Angelina has a blatant Bulgarian accent? Then you had distracting thick Irish and Scottish accents in the mix too lol

  • Fuck she stinks, terrible accent.

  • her accents are always on point!

  • her accents are always on point!

  • Verc nice

    great stuff !

  • @Devoj4E it's MaCedonians

  • Say what you will about the movie, but the fact remains that Angelina Jolie looked jizz'mally good in it!

  • i went to the Fucking shop to buy this Fucking movie but they Fucking tell me that the Fucking company stoped produting this Fucking movie so I Fucking cant buy this. FUCK im angry

  • Alexander being Greek and Macedonia always being greek is modern greek propaganda, that's all. After all, the region named "Macedonia" in Greece wasn't Greek until 1913.

The people in ancient "Greece" regarded Macedonians as barbarians. On the contrary, it was Macedonians that conquered Greece, Greeks didn't conquer Macedonia.

Remember, not the world, but modern greeks and bulgarians lie about Macedonia and Macedonian history being theirs.

The truth will shine one day...

  • behind every great man there's a great woman ... its way not the best movie ever but Alexander itself is a symbol that inspires me, no one ever did what the guy did and present day leaders can't even walk his shadow without getting burned. Very inspirational, even if the hollywood left out the filth and misery and put in a little too much homo erotic tension, i know it was commonplace back the, but i didnt have to see that :p

  • jesus she really is terrible in this, all shes good for is moving slowly, pouting and wearing coloured contacts.......oh and sounding russian for some reason....

  • @SuperYellow1989 She has south eastern european accent or trying to imitate one. Greek empire was wast including the balkans at the time.

  • omg she is really bad

  • Angelina Jolie is a terrible actress, she seems to only have one accent other than her native one. Every movie in which she has to speak in a different accent she sounds like some cheap vampire... not Russian, not Romanian, Certainly not Greek!

  • in this movie the director wasn't trying to make Aleksandar look gay....'cause back in that time man were showing more love and respect to each other...they were with women only for reproducing

  • Why does she sound like Count Dracula?

  • you're embarasing the greek mythology

  • Comment removed

  • That's Colin Farrell, he's so hot!

  • Macedonians :)

  • she's got him by the balls lol

  • Asik film Cleopatra versi Jolie tereh tayang eunkkkkkkk......Ayo musnahkan antek" mu jolie...Pakai strategi yg Jitu bwt lawan musuhmu sampai ngaGoler dikuburan nya..okeh i like CLEOPAtra..heheheehh

  • Just me who think she looks kinda old and tired in this movie?

  • @kraamsisa She's supposed to look older, she's his mother.

  • @kraamsisa She does but its the makeup that makes her look that way....she's close to Colin's age and she had to play his mother thats why they made her look this way :)

  • If she was my mom I would smell her feet every night!

  • I love the way she says "Alexander" even in "The Tourist" She's not very good at accents though which is quite surprising since she is so cosmopolitan.

  • At 1:25 she looks like Olivia wilde.

  • Why does Olympias have Russian accent???

  • @m21344

it sounds like italian accent too xD I mean, that's the way some of us sound while they speak english!

  • I liked the part where she gets raped in the butt! :D :D :D

  • @SteveTwoTheO what a sick comment. douchebag.

  • @AgeOfGoldenSilence shut up nazi

  • @SteveTwoTheO I hope you're trolling, if not you're a SICK FUCK!

  • @golddigger0325 Hmm yummy. Come at me bro.

  • Jolie is fucking shite in everything she's ever been in. This is no different.

  • most.beautiful.woman........ever!!!!!!!!

  • she loosk great... but im sorry im laughing the acting is SO bad lol god help them lol

  • Even Alexander the Great got a hiding off his Momma1

    LOL

  • Her eyes look just like Mila Kunis's.

  • her hair looks better here. she looks srop dead gorgeous!

  • Why does she sound russian? I thought she was supposed to be greek?

  • @cobrakaitime Macadonians. how ever it's spelled

  • @cobrakaitime Russian and Greek sound absolutely the same...

  • @Bernadine71 yes so does english and american..idiot

  • @cobrakaitime Jolie sounds just like Count Chocula!! LOL

I find Angie to be marginally talented at best...who makes really terrible films.

In truth, she is famous because her father is Jon Voight and for her scandalous personal life. She is not famous for some brilliant career.

  • @cobrakaitime in an interview she said she was trying to put on an "albanian" accent and the albanian accent is nothing like russian

  • @hekoka i bet when u dreamt up that interview it gave u a boner. merry christmas to you and all your muslim brothers.

  • @cobrakaitime muslim? lol fuck islam and fuck whatever religion you are lol

of course she gives a boner everytime i see her, only a faggot and a greek (the two being synonyms) would fail to get a boner lmao

go bend over to papa dimitri you arab gipsy gayreek

  • @hekoka aah so you're jewish. what's it like not having a god? and measuring everything in the weight of flesh?

  • @cobrakaitime

    Technically, they're Macedonian......

  • @elektraeriseros and what does that technically mean to you?

  • @cobrakaitime

It means that if you're going to critique someone, that YOU need to get your shit together before you do so.

THAT'S what it means to me. "Technically", if you're so inclined to be an ass.

  • @elektraeriseros yeah and where in my critique did i say they were not macedonians? did u not know macedonia was a greek city state? go back to school

  • @cobrakaitime

    1) You clearly said they were Greek instead of Macedonian.

    2) Maybe at one point in time, but in the time of Alexander the Great, Macedonia was it's own fucking empire.

.....or did your night class not get to that part yet?

  • @elektraeriseros wow. ok so what you're 12 years old and base all your historical knowledge on film? i'd like to hear your thoughts on william wallace. at one point in time??? are u serious? when were they ever different? and there was never any greek "empire". there was nothing imperialistic about ancient greece. perhaps your history teacher (ridley scott) has confused you.

  • @cobrakaitime

19-year-old history major, dear. And from your grammar, you really shouldn't be calling out anyone's education. And don't get mad just because someone has the balls to school you. Just check your facts first.

BTW: When did I ever mention a "Greek Empire"? I've clearly said Macedonia the entire time. Maybe it's time for you to get your eyes checked? Or better yet......look in a history book.

....can you even read at that level? You certainly don't write like it.

  • @elektraeriseros pls enlighten us with your barely one year's worth of introductory classes. when alexander the great hellenised 99% of the known world he made them all macedonian vs greek? one in the same. not at one point, but always. as for grammar? is that really the only argument u have going for you?

  • @cobrakaitime

No, but it's one of the few things I'd really like to get out in the open right now. If you're going to "school" someone, you should write like you've actually BEEN to school. Just for the record, sophomores are past the introductory classes, but I'd REALLY like to know where you get your information from. You don't seem to get what I'm saying. Greece and Macedonia (being neighbors) would have similarities in culture, but they are NOT the same.

  • @elektraeriseros yeah i think you're missing the point. i'm not here to school. i'm here to educate arrogant 19 year old experts of history like yourself. when u say macedonia u are referring to FYROM, capitol of which is Skopje. an arbitrary map created some decade ago by a former yugoslavian community. i am referring to the real macedonia, phillip and alexander's macedonia. i'm talking of Vergina. greece and fyrom are definately not the same. but fyrom and macedonia are not the same either.

  • @elektraeriseros First of all, douche bag, you have to be Greek to trully understand all the aspects of History. You're bad blood just doesnt allow you to think clearly. In your case maybe it's the fact your grandparents were inbreeds. Maybe it's the fact your mom was an alcoholic prostitute and your pimp dad used to abuse you. Maybe its the fact your a homosexual and you want to degrade everything that has to do with the norm. The FACT for sure is that you're ignorant......

  • @yannithegreat

Coming from the hateful little pissant? Please. I think not. Give me facts and proof and I'll take your word for it, otherwise, get your shit and get out of my face.

You call /me/ out for ignorance? Your comment's a fucking disgrace, and you want to call someone else out for being ignorant? I think not.

  • @elektraeriseros Ok then Mr. Intelligence. You should now that when someone speaks in a Greek, is taught by someone that speaks in Greek, believes in Greek Gods, has Greek customs, and unites all of Greece to war against the Persians, is considered Greek. Leonidas the 1st was Spartan. Do you not consider him Greek? Socrates was Athenian. Do you not consider him Greek? What about Hercules that was Thibian? Or Odysseas that was Ithacan?Greece back then was devided into city states

  • @yannithegreat

I know Greece was divided into city-states, everyone knows that. Where our opinions differ is whether or not Macedonia was actually considered a city-state. What I've been taught (by teachers of all kinds, some Greek, some not) do not put Macedonia into the city-state category. It was always considered separate, only joining Greece by certain cultural aspects, but not "Greek" itself.

And it's Ms. There's no need for attitude, dude. But if you get hostile, so will I

  • @elektraeriseros The fact that they had wars amongst eachother doesnt mean a thing. Do we not have civil wars today? Sparta for Athens was much more important than the reat of the world. Why attack Germania? Or Britain? No purpose of conqeuring something that is not worth it. The British Empire did exactly the opposite. Went to shitty countries and ruled them. Greeks NEVER wanted that. Lets talk about the Etymology of the Macedonian names.Alexander come from the Greek Αλεξανδρος

  • @yannithegreat

Again......I'm separating cultural from political. There is no doubt at all that Macedonia and Greece have deep, intertwining cultural roots. My only point was /politically/ there is a distinct difference between Macedonia and Greece. Macedonia and Greece share many of the same things and are deeply involved in each other's history, but at the end of the day A Macedonian was a Macedonian and a Greek was a Greek. That's all I'm trying to say.

  • @elektraeriseros and means the protector of men. Phillip comes from the Greek Φίλλιπος and means the friend of horses. So how is it possible, back then, were there were no universal religions to bastardize everything, for someone to have a Greek name and not be Greek? Why would somenone believe in the mighty Zeus and the rest of the Greek Gods if you was not Greek? The fact that you have been taught something doesnt mean that its correct.Lack of critical thinking pal...........

  • @yannithegreat

...and it would be one thing if I took what ONE person said and called it truth....but if I'm hearing the SAME THING from multiple sources, forgive me if I go with that idea and call it cannon.

Maybe Greece has it's own spin on the story that America doesn't, but /that/ is how it's taught over here, by many. And for the last time. Talking about the political aspects, not cultural...because you seem to be pointing out mainly cultural similarities.

  • @elektraeriseros What it you origin, if i may ask?

  • @yannithegreat Does it truly matter? It's clear that I'm not Greek, if that's what you're getting at.

  • @elektraeriseros Ofcourse you are not Greek! I wouldnt want you to be. I just want to know if you know were you come from. Your roots. Or are you just the typical middle american that has no idea about his origin and just beleives in america and everything american?

  • @yannithegreat "I wouldn't want you to be" Nice to know that you have a say in who makes up your race....

It's really hard to trace back my roots, but that reason doesn't matter. Yes, I do see myself as an "American" but not for the reasons you believe. The LAST thing my country needs is even more things that divide us....race and ethnicity are topics that do that here. I respect what I am and where my people come from, but there are things that matter more to me.

  • @elektraeriseros politically and one can argue culturally athens was different from sparta, but they were both greek. just like someone from new york is very different from someone from texas. but both american. i think it's important to know where u come from and @yannithegreat makes a good point about asking you about your origin. not for his curiosity but for your own reference. tell alexander he was not greek and you would get the same reaction as me telling u that u are not american.

  • @cobrakaitime I said I knew where I came from, I just didn't see the point of sharing. I get what you're trying to say (I got it a long time ago), I'm just telling you how /I/ learned this information and passing it along. It's really no use trying to continue to argue this, because we'll never reach consensus, but again, if multiple credible sources are saying the same thing to you, it's hard not to take it as cannon.

  • @elektraeriseros This movie is quite good, but Alexander fighting for Greeks and being greek in the movie - propaganda.

  • @Manchevo

Propaganda? Tell that to @yannithegreat and @cobrakaitime

  • @elektraeriseros We Macedonians haven't built statue of Alexander for nothing. We love him as a hero and legend of Macedonia, not Greece.

I try to reason with the greeks, to make them see truth, some of them see the light, many are still in darkness.

I just fight to defend what's Macedonian, to show the world that we exist and we are not Greek propaganda.

  • @cobrakaitime Greece as a country was created in the 19th century - London's base on the Balkans. Aegean Macedonia wasn't part of Greece until 1913. Even Shazimarkakiz admitted that there are many Macedonians living in Greece. These Macedonians have their own political party named "Vinozito", which fights for human rights and to be recognized as minority in Greece.

You should know that the Macedonians - 1916-26 were forced to speak Greek, to have Greek names and so on

  • @Manchevo i wish your party good luck in the next elections. however the balkans have never been effective politically. divided and always fighting. the same way we'll be about alexander the great. there are people in Afghanistan more greek or "macdenoian" than you from skopje or FYROM. i understand you are fighting for an identity and it makes me proud that you would align yourselves with parts of ancient greek history. but then why so negative about greece?

  • @cobrakaitime The Greeks are those who are negative about Macedonia and Macedonians. You will understand me if you try. FYROM translates to Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, - Republic of Macedonia ? Former Yugoslav ? Hell yeah, after wanting freedom and country since the 14th century from the Ottomans, Macedonians finally got their country in 1945, in part of Yugoslavia, which was the first united European union in Europe. 1991 - No more Yugoslavia, thus Republic of Macedonia

  • @Manchevo ok i've read wikipedia. so basically people from fyrom didnt want to be ottoman or slavic so they want to be greek?

  • @cobrakaitime wikipedia on Macedonia is pure propaganda... if you dont want the truth, live with lie.

It was my duty to defend my history, my land and my people.

  • @Manchevo should greeks fight to get asia minor back from turkey?

  • @cobrakaitime what do the greeks have with asia minor ?

  • @Manchevo are u being serious? i think someone has used the word propaganda around u too much and u dont see passed it. and should the greeks fight to get back southern italy too?

  • @cobrakaitime If there were Greeks in asia minor and southern italy (you are probably talking Sicily here), they would have been greek.

I gave you facts about Macedonia, its just the cloud above you mind that is blocking the light to shine upon you. I didnt say Egypt was Macedonian, or Athens , or Iran and Irak, or Northern India.

I am talking about Macedonians in their ethnic borders.

In ancient times people from Greece (Athens), regarded the Macedonians as barbarians.

  • @Manchevo OK...just because this whole thing is starting to get annoying lets set some things straight. Todays Slavs that live above Greece and call themselves Macedonians have nothing to do with the Ancient Macedonians that lived in todays Nporthern Greece and "fyrom". Those were clearly a Greek tribe. Like the Spartans were, like the Athenians were. Its like saying todays Turks are Greeks. Greeks had the most part of Asia Minor in the past. So stop your false propaganda.

  • @Manchevo It just shows your lack of history and your obsession of wanting to have a history. Dont forget that Greece is a country that has helped you (and the rest of the Balkans) in the past. Dont get us angry, cause when that happens you will not like the consequences. The Greeks have prooved what they are. What they have done. What wars they have won. What empires they have conquered. You're entering Greece's history. But in a way you wouldnt imagine in your worst nightmare.....

  • @Manchevo I'm not done with you yet little man hiding behind a foreighn history. All I here about you slavs is how much you detest Greece and Greeks. But at the same time your ultimate dream is to come to Greece. Instead of trying to take things from us in a civilized and a gentle manor you try to take things from us by simply trying to steel a part of our history. It is not our fault that you've contributed absolutely NOTHING to humanity and we are not willing to pay the price.

  • @Manchevo As I said before your propaganda is losing control. Just because we have a few traitors in the Goverment doesnt mean we are willing to sell our history and country to pissants like you. Especially now that we are taking over. Becarefull of what you say and what you try to do cause believe it or not we are coming back to haunt you. Just admit the fact you are nothing and we are great. Go back living your worthless life and then MAYBE, maybe we will forgive you.....

  • @nomorecoolones I admit the fact that i will not bow down to your lies and propaganda my friend.

To give you another example of how a false representation of who the Macedonians were, has made it into the Western academic literature. Take Patrick Finney, in his essay "An Evil for all Concerned: Britain and Minority Protection", on page, 544 writes that:

  • @nomorecoolones Quote:

"The Slavic population of Macedonia and western Thrace clearly possessed Bulgarian national consciousness".

Clearly, they didn't ! It is these kinds of statements made by Western academics and Western politicians that continually misrepresent who we are, and misrepresent who we were, and what we called oursevles.

  • @nomorecoolones The representations made by Greece, by Bulgaria and even Western institutions, like the League of Nations (which published false data about the Macedonians), are all false. But having said that, they have had an effect. These false representations of the Macedonians have made their way into political ciricles in the West, into academic institutions.

  • @nomorecoolones Our enemies have been tapping into a century of oppression, denial, ommission, distortion...etc, whatever they can get their hands on in order to export the notion that we did not exist, or that we were a suspect people. This thread is about challenging some of those Western assumptions.

  • @Manchevo What in the name of Zeus' A-hole are you talking about???? Go back living in your dark cave you lepper coprolagnic troglodite. You will always be inferior. Stop, STOP trying (cause you only try to, never succeed) to confuse people with your fake proof....

  • @nomorecoolones As i told earlier my friend, its my duty to defend my history, my name and my country.

I would rather help you, than fight you. Its just that i am a man of truth and justice, which i seek my entire life.

  • @Manchevo "Your" name and history are clearly not yours. And the way your going your country wont be aswell....."man of truth and justice, which i seek my entire life"? Try man of lies and injustice, you seek with propaganda your entire useless life.......And dont call me your friend, you are my ENEMY with the insanities and blasphemy you utter!!!!

  • @Manchevo "Now that these descendants of Perdiccas are Greeks, as they themselves say, I myself chance to know"

    [Herodotus V, 22, 1 ]

As you see herodotus disagrees with you;)))))))

    learn history before say something!!!!

  • @cobrakaitime On the contrary Macedonians conquered whole Greece (land), Egypt, Persia and minor part of India.

I know very good that winners make history, but what Greece made after occupying Aegean Macedonia, its not history, it lie ( or the word - propaganda ).

I told you before what they did to Macedonians and when Greece as a country was created.

  • @cobrakaitime Read my comments bellow and think. I respect your word, but i want mine to be respected in return. LERIN....Florina VODEN......Edessa SOROVICHEVO......Aminteon KUKUSS......Kilkis KOSTUR.......Kastoria FUSTANI......Evropos PLASNICHEVO.......Kriva Vrisi KAILAR...Ptolemais LIBANOVO....Eginion....etc..etc...etc... I wrote that the Greeks forced Macedonians to speak greek, read greek book, Macedonian assimilation and immigration, changed names of cities and even graves..
  • @elektraeriseros I respect your beliefs. But, please, stop the patriotic act. You sound like a 40 year old alcoholic, living in a trailer park, watching Bush's speech on tv while shouting "we'll get those terrorists!!!!!". Thats the difference buddy. I know whats happening in America. You have no idea whats happening in the rest of the world. How would you like it if someone told you that Abraham Linkoln was Mexican? Or that his roots ar from the Aztecs? I'm sure that would piss you off.

  • @yannithegreat "I respect your beliefs" No you don't dude. Please don't speak to me about that failure that was Bush. I sure as hell didn't vote for him. I know what's going on in my country as well as others. What do American current events have to do with Grecian history? Save your "jabs" and use them wisely. And if someone told me that, I'd just laugh it off and move on with my life because I know they're wrong. Not sit there and berate them for it, like /that/ would work...

  • @cobrakaitime And honestly? You really aren't worth my time. Just some internet troll who needs a youtube fight to validate himself and up his shitty self-esteem. Like I said, look it up, any history text book would do. Thucydides is actually a very good source on the topic. All I know is that your bull is not worth my time.

As I said before, Alexander was a Macedonian, not a Greek. Just get your facts straight before you start spewing shit. It just makes you look dumb otherwise.

  • @elektraeriseros persona non grata.

  • i could never understand why she looks sooooooooo amazing in this film, like above her normal gorgeousness. then i realised its the eyeliner :) she normally only has it on the top and lightly on the bottom or none on the bottom haha.

  • the acting was soo bad in this movie! the actors were so badly chosen for the roles...i mean c'mon, colin farrell as a blond, please

  • psh. this movie didnt win anything did it? everyone was like eww this movie sucks. pretty much because of angelina's accent being cool but irrelevant and all the gay sex freaked people out

  • @Rachulie That movie is amazing !!! It was poetic and inspiring in a way I haven't seen again in any historical movie. Everything that made it suck for the general public made it so much more grand in a very unique way...

  • @Rachulie Actually, that's WHY some people liked the movie! And Angelina's accent has been made fun of since the movie came out, for good reason. I'm just amazed at a tan Irishman.

  • haha the accent... funny russian shit Oo

  • Angelina's lined up to play Cleopatra VII. I think she's awesome for the part, she's done so many great roles. I loved her as Olympias!

  • where can i see the whole scene?!

  • es bellisima, y eso q soy gay, m enkantan sus peliculassss e lo maximooo¡¡¡ y la de salt es geniall¡¡¡

  • she makes playing a goddess look so effortless. wonder why :D

  • @AidenIslaDavis she's not playing a goddess....just a queen who loves snakes...

  • lolzz.. I highly doubt Alexander the Great would cry and get mad at his mother and and his mother would have to slap him .. lol.. bulls***

  • She is such a fine actress and she nails every accent she tries.

  • I loved her accent in this movie. she sounded like some snake goddess. her voice was like spiced fire.

  • @Aysannes Have you noticed her accent changes on and off?

  • @bobbydoorknocker yes, I did. nothing is perfect :)

  • Myths in the cavern. Oedipus. Prometheus. And Medea - mother-magician who killed her children to take revenge against their father. One of most terrible greek myths. And it means a particular relationship (not explicit as in Oedipus) with children, possessed by that so dangerous, 'mad' mother (woman=magician=merciless against men).

    Sorry about my awful english

  • Jolie's been in 2 worst movies Ive ever seen: this one and Salt

  • MACEDONIA IS GREEK / HELLENIC

ALEXANDER THE GREAT IS GREEK / HELLENE

  • @unfukkkmee Ahh, somebody here apparently has some issues. Why do you mention here that Alexander is Hellenic and not Macedonian? Does it matter?

  • @Calucifer13 MACEDONIA IS GREEK

    MACEDONIANS ARE GREEKS

    ALEXANDER IS GREEK NAME

    MACEDONIA IS GREEK NAME

  • @Calucifer13 Well to be Macedonian, you kind of have to be Hellenic....

  • Well to be fair Jolie's accent was no more odd then the guy in the scene, it is set about 1000 years before the first strands of Old English as a language were even formed let alone spoken, and almost 2000 years before that language evolved into the English we all know and speak. So who knows what kind of an accent people had back then...

  • accent?

  • @opali33 yeah she rolls her tounge with certain words. ive seen this movie so many times that i unkowingly do it. like when she said exagerating and not nd alexander and your. just listen for it.

  • she is so pretty

  • If you want to learn about the real Olympias, check out Michael A. Dimitri's, The Daughter of Neoptolemus on Amazon!

  • @MarcZanes Also read the Wars of Alexander's Successors Volume I, and pretty much and lengthy biography of Alexander the Great himself. She was pretty much a cold hearted bitch that not only roasted a baby alive with his mother once, but also became sole ruler of Macedonia for a while until Cassander brought her down.

  • girl worked the hell outta that role.

  • I hated angelina jolie till I saw this movie and then i gained a lot of respect for her as an actress. I thought she played the role perfectly and gave the best performance in the film and it's a shame she didn't get more credit for it.

  • I cant believe That they compare Megan fox to this expectional Goddess Angie..Megan is a cold fish she has no x factor she is pretty and hot and that is about it..Angie her eyes, lips, cheekbones and jawline..She is perfection she is like mona lisa like high fashion soo glamerous you just cant stop look at her Thats makes her a Goddess of beauty and not the meantion the raw sexappeal she has..Mention Megan and Angie in the same sentence is a great insult to This Goddess Angie,Megan is nothing

  • @ChristinaLaRosa18 There's some rumor going around that another Laura Croft movie might be made and Angelina is going to be replaced by Megan Fox. What do you think?

  • I don't care what you all say about her accent... it is sexy as and lets be honest, she was the best thing about that terrible terrible film!

  • @jaivomi Alexander was not terrible, it was actually a GREAT movie, but with too many unnecessary scenes left. It is hugely underpreciated.

  • She looks gorgeous, but her accent is terrible. She's never been good with accents. In 'Original sin' for example.

  • @pfan4ever The horrible accent was INTENDED!!!

  • Worst acting I've ever seen from an A-list celebrity. Angelina is supposed to play a greek but sounds more like a russian drunk.

  • @kamilmytnik The real Alexander's mother was Macedonian, I believe. Not Greek. For that matter, Alexander's father was Macedonian as well. His mother may well have come from the regions near what we now know as Russia or Albania. Which means she may have had a Slavic accent. ;)

  • @MistyK74525 Typical of what they say from FYROM! What about the area of Greek Macedonia? Is that up in Russia?

  • @MistyK74525

no, Olympias was from Epirus (her family claimed descent from Neoptolemus, son of Achilles), infacts Macedonians blamed Philip because of his stranger first wife and preferred the younger, and Macedonian, Cleopatra, niece of Attalus and after the marriage named Eurydice - and later killed.

  • @nephelais I stand corrected on who was from where, but my original point still stands: Olympias was from a region that may have well had an accent that was a precursor to the modern 'Slavic' accent. Epirus was on the coast, between Greece and Albania. I'm sure the powers that be over this film went with an Albanian-esque accent because of that.

  • @MistyK74525 And, because I ran out of characters: Regardless, the film is not intended to be a documentary, no more than Troy was, and therefore Hollywood, for better or worse, took liberties with history. This is why you don't watch a movie in high school or college and attempt to use it was reference material for a paper you were assigned to write. ;-)

  • @MistyK74525

Sorry, i sincerely don't know that.

And.. what a pity (what a shame) .. we don't hear original voices, in Italy. I studied history and studied greek and latin philology, indeed, but i can't hear or know accents. Sorry.

  • Hahahha, she pimp slapped him!

  • god shes so hot..those eyes and those fucking lips get me every time.

  • Alexander was pwned lol

  • I think Angelina is a lot like Olympias for many reasons, but one reason I think she is a lot like Olympias is because (and I'm not sure if this is accurate or not) I think it was only after she did Alexander and learned who Achilles was and Brad Pitt did Troy that she started to "notice" Brad a lot more, which is a lot like Olympias in that Olympias in, some way, loved Achilles.

  • @TheAlexander356 No... Angelina Jolie isn't like Olympias at all, lol. Olympias was much more ruthless than she is, and there's a lot to her that wasn't included in the movie. Troy was made before Alexander btw, and Achilles was Olympias ancestor.

  • @Alexandros1294 That's for damn sure!

  • Angie is less than a year older than colin, why would they cast her as his mom????

  • @SisterOfDoubt lol i know right! i would have loved to see a scene with them both in a love scene together. But of course where angie is casted as someone else and not as his mother. Because that is creepy.

  • @SisterOfDoubt

    'cause she's wonderful and wild...?

  • Jolie even looks like a snake...but she sounds like Count Chocula! lol

  • ummmmm her accent was horrible!

  • she did this zo fucking amazing!!
