What Dershewitz is talking about is a low autonomy low capacity Palestinian State which is what it is now. Deshowitz's statements of his desire for the creation of a "Viable Palestinian State" is mere rhetoric, a tactic that he employs in abundance throughout the debate, and there is absolutely no evidence of his supporting anything remotely in resemblance. Chomsky, on the other hand, has a record of supporting such a State, as is evident from his plethora of writings since the early 70's and onwards. Chomsky did build a career of his writings, in the hopes of advancing human rights.

What Dershewitz is talking about is a low autonomy low capacity Palestinian State which is what it is now. My solution to the problem is quite unorthodox why not create a confederacy of Israel and Palestine where both territories are autonomous eg: the Kurd population in Iraq. The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct Palestinian people to oppose Zionism.

And the Jewish people exist? Jews who married and became European? The Jews who were gone from the lands, scattered and now claim a right to the land? What is the case is there is little difference between the Middle Eastern Jews and Palestinian. The European Jews view Palestinians perhaps in a racial view.
