  • What is the name of the great song being played in this trailer? Who is it by? Let me know please? kenthebanker@yahoo.com Thank you!

  • @kenprzydzial Do Whatcha Wanna, by the Rebirth Brass Band.

  • Lester and Bunk are back... Fuck, i 'll watch it !!!

  • Nueva Orleans después del Katrina: Jodidos pero contentos. Me gusta esta serie ♥

  • I love Second Line horns & trumpets. And John Goodman speaking the truth. It was a man made catastrophic planned years ago.

  • "All you wanna do is get high, play some trumpet and barbecue in New Orleans your whole damn life?"

    Sounds pretty good to me!

  • Looks like Lester is playing Bubbles.

  • You are a ignorant son of a bitch virus of cyrus and your goin to burn in hell

  • Best show on TV - I lived it - they get New Orleans right!

  • I think I'm going to struggle not seeing Lester Freamon and Bunk in this series but I'll give it my best shot.

I think it's a shame when directors find good actors and re-use them over and over in their films / shows. They've obviously got good casting directors so make them do their jobs.

  • @TomMackio

How about seeing these two great actors play themselves in both shows, they just have different names and backgrounds now.... who ever said a director can't have favorites? Tim Burton uses Johnny Depp and his own wife helena Bonham Carter al the time, cause he likes the way they act together... why change a winning team??? even in actors...

  • A piece of advice about this show. It is VERY slow moving. You could even call it boring. It has nothing in common with the other series I recently finished the first season of - The Walking Dead.

Yet it grows on you, whether during the first episode or after the third - the New Orleans culture starts to draw you in, the beautiful cinematography mesmerises you, and it is hard not to appreciate the acting. Even if you hate it (which I did, and might still), it's hard not to come back for more!

  • @AlexB1001 Don't know if you watched The Wire, but that's kind of David Simon's M.O. Both this and the Wire are more akin to literature than traditional television, with each episode being a chapter in a long book. There's stuff in the Wire that only pays off after the full 5 seasons, and here's no different. And I love it. It allows for some deep storywriting we'd never get otherwise.

  • @thegrimner

You're talking to the guy who stayed with the series and now thinks it is one of the best shows he has ever had the pleasure of watching!

  • I don't know who this show is targeted at, before watching it I had little idea about what new orleans was about. I just love the music and the culture there. I might not agree with it but I still love how it's so deeply rooted.

    thanks for sharing

  • "Hate the food, hate the music, hate the city....then what the FUCK are you doin down here?!" Gotta love John Goodman. lol.

  • YES!!!

  • BORING how did this show get 2 or 3 seasons?Bring the wire and oz back pls!

  • How good is this show? I keep wanting to buy it when I see it but I never get around to it. I guess I just prefer to actually visit the city.

  • @innotech After watching 3 episodes, all i can say is- do not expect a new The Wire. Im mildly dissapointed tbh. The shows lacks suspense imo- characters looking for gigs and jobs, a brother is missing and for some reason i really didnt care. It kinda feels like its the show about nothing. The dayli base struggle and purpose feels absent, even though its post Katrina. Gonna give et a few episodes more to se how/if the characters starts to unfold. Sry if i offended Simon fans

  • I love the part of the song from 2:03

It looks like an awesome show.

  • Love the food, love the music, love the city. I went there last weekend for the Jazz Fest and I didn't want to leave. Such an incredible place.

  • aight baybay.... nola fucking rules.

  • wow looks like a good show!

  • great show. bit slow paced but thats a good thing sometimes.

  • You know you're from New Orleans if you pronounce it "Noo'rlins"..

  • hahaha DR. JOHN!!!!!

  • Hahaha. Oh my god, I just finished The Wire for the 3d time. I was like really sad, cause I knew I wouldn't find any show with that charisma ! And then I found this trailer.... The part of my life that is about watching tv shows, is saved for a short moment....

  • background music is "Do Whatcha Wanna" by the Rebirth Brass Band. You can find it on iTunes.

  • What is the background music? I've been trying to find it for ages.

  • @TheMoccasin mr simmons blues

  • I love it! I love it! I love it! Really? What else can I say besides that?

  • I'm in N.O. atm on holiday, just heard about this show from a tour guide. Loks great. Gonna check it out as soon as I get home.

  • Is that Jack Nicholson @ 1:47? They look and sound identical, I'll be damned.

  • @pwned2ice That's Dr John mate! Same level of coolness though so fair play to you.

  • Does anyone know the name of the song playing in the background?

  • @Aaradarn

I was looking for it myself. It's called "Do Watcha Wanna" By The Rebirth Brass Band. Also check out Kermit Ruffins who is the trumpet player at 1:55-2:00.

  • Fuck yeah The Bunk

  • @Stigmableedingblack Or you know, the black youths taking it upon themselves to start rescuing people in their neighborhoods, only to be brutalized by white police.

  • Best series on TV - all us locals love this show!

  • good show so far. its about time someone spoke out about katrina

  • The Bunk!

  • cool movie, saw it on #FTW Go Movie World . com #CUTE

  • 504 bitch!

  • YA SAINT GABRIEL

  • if this is half as good as the Wire, I will love it... I will def watch this when the first season is done.. Hope it wil be on dvd available here..

at the one who said the brits haven´t contributed to the music industry, go study some music... they raised jimmy hendrix ffs

  • I gotta say somthing here... The Wire is the most sincere and best series ever... Ok We, cool people, know that... But How Bout That..? The Wire is better than Faulkner shit.... I knew you wasn't ready for that...

I need a Wire season 6 that's all... Im afuck with Treme first I guess.

  • I Love this show, the characters play the roles wonderfully and plus I like how in the mist of such a disaster the people have humor anyways its a great show and it makes sunday nights more interesting.....

  • This is my show; in my personal opinion this is one of the best show that is t.v. right now. This makes my Sunday nights; the characters seem so genuine. This still kinda paints a picture of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina; it's like it's still fresh in your mind and shows you how f-d up everything. Just my opinion again.

  • Grandiose

  • "The music that rather seen it's day" ???????????? Typical Brit. All, they ever contributed to the music world is the Beatles and techno Personally I had enough of both!!!

  • @RivaWitch you're so ridiculously wrong it hurts. First of all, techno is from Detroit. As for british music, what about Punk? What about Drum and Bass? Dubstep? Not to mention the massive influence that Britain has had on blues and reggae. Go read a book you fucking numbskull.

  • @HoldingUpTheBar Look up Robert Johnson, Memphis Minnie. Just for the fun of it. Now if you feel the need to use profanity and name calling to get your point across. Please refrain from responding any farther.

  • @RivaWitch Please. I've listened to more Robert Johnson and Memphis Minnie than you've had packed lunches. Try Skip James and Son House on for size. The reason my comment was so heated was because you were so quick to dismiss a culture you know knowing about. British music culture. My culture. There is more good British music than you and I could ever listen to in a lifetime and maybe if you weren't so quick to deride the lifeblood of 61 million people you might hear something that you like.

  • @HoldingUpTheBar Please dude you are boring me. Just let it go. Ohh yeah and ummmm.... get a life!

  • @RivaWitch haha...right...

  • @ HoldingUpTheBar Are you British? I'm sorry, I don't want to get in this argument, But I've been traveling around Europe for 9 months now and Every British person I've met has a way of making everything about British people and their history. And the blues and reggae thing you mentioned, I doubt the extent of that because it's roots are deep in African culture.

  • @QueenSoap Of course the roots of Blues and Reggae are in African culture, I don't claim that these genres were invented by Britain, merely that we embraced them. In the 60's and 70's you couldn't move for American blues and reggae musicians in England, mainly because it was easier for them to get gigs here than it was in America. Thus, the British contribution to these diverse cultures.

  • @QueenSoap As for the British attribution thing, I think you've just met some extreme cases. There is quite a strong sense of national pride here (significantly less than in America though), and we are especially proud of our music, which is why I called out RivaWitch so harshly. If someone described American music as she did, I'm sure you'd be a little pissed too.

  • @HoldingUpTheBar I admit in the US there's a lot of pride...but this idea that it's more than British pride is one I might argue. While you'll meet people who think the U.S is the best country ever...it's only a particular type that think that way. And I haven't met every British person and I don't know how everyone feels. But the people I met were some of the most nationalistic people I've ever met. I met this one guy who, if he could, would claim that British people discovered water and air.

  • @QueenSoap Yeah we have some nasty nationalists over here like the BNP. Serious arseholes. We're not all like that though!

  • @HoldingUpTheBar I'm curious, do they teach you all in school to be so judgmental, ignorant, and just plain infuriating towards Americans or is that just a product of your upbringing? You're just fighting a losing battle if you think that your country can stake any claim whatsoever in blues or rap because their roots are in African culture, then made manifest in America. The only thing England did with it is copy...Stones..The Animals...

  • @judgeourjah Where did I ever say anything about America as a whole? In fact, I actually bigged you guys up by attributing techno to detroit. Also, I didn't claim Britain invented blues and reggae, I merely stated that when Americans got tired of listening to the blues, the British embraced it - thus influencing it's development.

  • @HoldingUpTheBar Moreover, the man in this episode only perpetuates just how sad you people are. You continuously put Americans down in every way just to make yourself look/ feel better, it's so pathetic. There is this double standard with Americans that I absolutely loathe, it's somehow globally acceptable to constantly berate us about our lifestyle, culture, etc. but if we were to do that it would be blasphemous.

  • @judgeourjah You're such a hypocrite! I never once derided America as a nation, just RivaWitch's very blinkered view of British culture. In this post, you (as she did) dismiss Britain based on A FICTIONAL CHARACTER in a TV show. My father is American, I have grown up with American culture, and unlike you lot, I don't dismiss a nation based on a minority of idiots.

  • @HoldingUpTheBar I'm sorry, that rant was a result of a lot of pent up and misplaced anger. I just got back from spending a semester in London and if I had a nickel for every egotistical, self-righteous, pretentious person I met I'd have a shitload of nickels. I've heard people make fun of 9/11, blame me personally for Bush, and even make fun of Katrina. I used to love England in theory and now you couldn't pay me to go back.

  • @judgeourjah

Sorry to hear that... should've come up North or anywhere else in the UK other that London. There's a reason that only tourists visit and nob'eads go to live there.

Yet still, I apologise on their behalf.

  • @sorayacita thanks sugar. Especially since (and I didn't want to get into this haha) but I used to be a HUGE fan of the British series Skins, until I saw the episode where they make a musical making fun of 9/11. I mean, I get the humor, it's like "springtime for Hitler.". But my dad was a firefighter at ground zero, and he died of lung cancer three years ago as a result. It's fine that England finds the death of Americans funny, but imagine if I made fun of your dad's death.

  • new orleans my city!

  • treme deals with everything, imagineable about kitrina from every angle in a humane acceptable way its like watching a great city being reborn after a great tragedy

  • @snipet19 that detective from the wire, the one who cold cocked that kid had a small role in treme, rem when the horn player said, they clap on the 1-3 and they showed on that guy, him

  • Treme is a great show, the music is really awsome as well as the actors. A well put together true show

  • treme is fuckn booring. nothing happens ever...

  • hey does anyone know the name of the tune when the white dude with lenses is smoking a joint laying bed... it was last nights show 4/25/2010. The track in the backround was dope! Anyone know? TY..

  • John Goodman delivers that line with a kick!

  • clearly the best part of the trailer! hate the food, hate the music, hate the city, what the fuck you doin down here lmao!!!!

  • New Orleans,is...Hmmm,How can i put in to words, what My city means to me

it's Not just My home...and til u have Spent time there U will never know...it's not just a city,it's my heart and soul...

  • omg quality movie @dave2 its online at 'bigmovies4free' ! seen it twice already lol found it funny :)

  • All-star cast a-comin'

  • Please tell me you're kidding. Simon planned this show before Katrina. If he wanted to exploit a tragedy, he'd make United 93 or "We'll Put a Boot in Your Ass, thats the American Way." This has been in the making for five years, with an insane amount of research, and a deliberate, methodical representation of the realities that go on every day in this city.

  • Profanity reflects real life, and with Simon its realistically used. I'd rather use profanity than cast judgements about "worthwhile people," which probably doesn't mesh well with the teachings of Jesus and your Sunday Church Group.

  • how can i get the theme song...????

  • hate the food, hate the music, hate the city.. what frack are you doing down here man!?

  • Who thought that the Wire was cancelled? They must never have seen it. It was so brilliantly rendered, the story obviously reached its natural conclusion. Wow, I've been a fan of Homicide, Corner, and the Wire, can't believe this is going to be anything but a expertly crafted show with a brilliant story line and brilliant characters. And I am so glad to see Melissa Leo return...her character got shafted by the network on Homicide!

  • @thestickwoman YOU WATCH THE MOST PATHETIC AND BORING SHOWS AROUND, THE SHOWS YOU WATCH ARE WHAT OLD LADIES AND PEOPLES GRANDMAS WATCH.

YOU MUST BE AN UGLY OLD BORING PERSON TO WATCH THOSE SHOWS, LIVE LIFE A LITTLE, WATCH A FEW EPISODES OF FAMILY GUY AND U WONT BE ABLE TO GO BACK TO THOSE FAKE FANTASY BRAIN WASHING SHIT SHOWS.

  • @VirusOfCyrus

Family Guy is not that good lol. Why are you such a negative person? Go enjoy life a little, have some fun!

  • This show looks awesome!! I hope David Simon brings back Herc, bubs, and Omar.

  • Seeing Rebirth tomorrow in NYC!!!!

  • Rebirth Brass Band - song name is Do Whatcha Wanna.

Kermit Ruffins also features in the trailer- he used to play with Rebirth... they are all awesome!

  • happen to know the name of the song?

  • Anyone know the group/artist playing the song in the background?

  • Rebirth Brass Band

  • I'm gonna be an extra tomorrow I'm excited even though I might not be in view of the camera. This show looks awesome I can't wait to watch it!

  • What song is this? Fantastic!

  • its the Second Line song

  • Comment removed

  • @superpinkeee504 the name of the song is do what you wanna

  • What song is this? Fantastic!

  • hopefully the show won't drag on like sopranos, end like the wire or get jewed out of a final season like deadwood.

  • i have friends in this movie its about time they have a movie/TV show that shows the true side of New Orleans no matter how good or bad it might be. Life is good in the Deep South

  • Play for that motherfucking money. All is well in the world. Wendell Pierce is swearing on a tv show made by David Simon. Amen.

  • I love Rob Brown

  • looks great. cant wait for it to air.

  • hey its the prostitute chick from deadwood! i liked her in that show

  • Well said PennyJavy!! TheGuyWithDaFace needs a SlapinDaFace!

  • Rob Brown...sexxay!

  • I guess you've never seen The Big Lebowski, have ya?

  • rob brown!

  • i dunno man....im a fan of "the corner" and "the wire"

i will give this show a chance.

glad the brought BUNK and FREEMAN.

  • The Wire wasn't canceled. David Simon felt the time had come to close to book on the Wire because he finished what he needed to say about an American city. If you liked the Wire just because of the "coolness" of gangsters then you were enjoying it for the wrong reason.

  • Still, Omar was pretty bad ass.

  • @PennyJavy Couldn't agree more

  • @PennyJavy Couldn't have said it any better. Easily the most sophisticated script that I was lucky to see come to life

  • @PennyJavy - how come you can't have two or three reasons for liking the show and the coolness is just one of them. think outside of the box. the show has multi purposes.

  • @AveolarD I said if that was your only reason to liking the show. though.

  • @PennyJavy

there is never a right reason to enjoy something, and david simon may have said that. but the show was almost cancelled during the third season the show alway's struggled with rating's i appreciate all aspect's of the show and the greek's are my favorite storyline, I am not wrong for that.

  • @PennyJavy I don't really think there's a "wrong" way to like the series. The Wire has such a multi layered story that it can appeal to everyone. Whether it's the "coolness" of the gangsters or the corrupt ways of politicians and police commissioners there to Jimmy McNulty's whoring, there is something in that series for EVERYONE.

  • @PennyJavy People can enjoy entertainment for any reason they want. The purpose is to enjoy it. You do not decide the "right reasons" to enjoy something.

  • @KevinDolin Second that!

I learned a lot. About selling drugs ;P

  • Looks awesome, wonder when this will come on in the UK.
