Andy and the other men were NOT captured/released by religious extremists like the current insurgent forces. As for you comment on the "dirty work". I'm assuming the "dirty work" you are referring to was the operation of death camps. For that, the Nazi Party had the Shutzstaffel. The Wehrmacht did not operate the camps, nor did the Waffen SS, which is mistaken a lot.

The Germans had no intention of world domination. Poland was invaded because it was part of the former German Empire, which Hitler wanted to restore after it was taken after WW1. He Invaded Russia because he wanted to destroy the Bolsheviks. He Invaded France after France declared war on Germany, and attacked England after England declared war on Germany. Wrong, moron, in combat there is the quick and the dead. He obviously felt threatened and reacted in a split second to neutralize the threat. Did the guy have a grenade, a pistol, or some other weapon? The soldier obviously didn't know and reacted accordingly. Was he jumpy, on edge, overreactive? Yes, and you would be too--in fact I bet you would have crapped your pants. Don't judge someone in that situation when you have no idea what you're talking about.
