  • @911psalms amen. Same with me

  • Lecrae is my absolute fav singer--cuz his life is dedicated to the Lord and his kingdom. Tears roll every time I hear him sing for the glory of God!

  • He kills it!!!!!!!!! So Sick!!!!!!!!

  • MUSIC is LUV! Youtube/reggiewriteous

  • its awesome at 4:11 you can see him look up as if to say, "that was all for you christ."

  • So powerful

  • I want him to preform at my church, dang, how it'll change us.

  • @Acungownz

Dude I agree, we need people like him in our church's today.

  • @Acungownz hes just a man, Christ can use you in some way. if you let him

  • @Acungownz But isn't Christ is supposed to change you? :-P (sorry I'm trolling)

  • Chills ran up and down my spine... I've always listened to this song.... but never really heard it until I watched this, seeing that it's more lyrical than musical. I've truly been moved (:

  • hahahaha wooowww so amazing to see the fire of Christ in others!!

  • Awesome! Keep It Up Lacrae!

  • Jonathan Joseph's debut album PROMO VIDEO (MOSES RAP) youtube video

  • this gave me the chills

  • i think lecrae was the only black one there lol

  • @jj13jet There were at least three black people behind him...

  • @jj13jet There's a black guy sitting in the back...

  • man, the fact that you can hear the emotion in his voice while he's rapping is so good.

  • skip to 1:50 to get to lacrae

  • @fleas hope you not in error of believing in an unbiblical trinity. One & 3 don't mix. 1 God, Father in creation, became manifest in flesh, not his spirit dwells in us. All fulness of the Godhead dwelled in Jesus bodily. He was the visible image of the invisible God

  • @Fleas are you saying the Apostles baptism was in error? Jesus is the Name of the Father, Son, & Holy Ghost.

  • @Fleas

  • piper is striaght reppin

  • @RedeemedCHrisTRAP Praise the Lord! I'm a Pastor with a small church in my home. Most of the members are youngmen from single parent homes. I pray everyday that they will one day Stand on the word as you are. God bless you and forever keep you.

  • You serious?? Lecrae was in Minneapolis!?? In John Pipers church!! wow!! thats amazing! When will you come again to MN?

  • Hey Lecrae great show! An God is tha LIGHT that WE ALL NEED TO BE WALKING IN!

  • I just started going to Bethlehem, great church

  • At 2:10 it sounds like he says Balls!

  • Very touching!!!Praise God!!! Love the music!!!

  • inspiration

  • haha 2:31 voice crack

  • great yo

  • his voice is gone

  • He slowed that down a bit

  • @mkopl555 He did that on purpose, he turned it into more of a message than just a song. Just 'nother reason to love Lecrae.

  • I am VERY PROUD of these brothers. The Lord led me to their music, about 6 to 8 months ago, and I have been blessed. The secular music industry is... let's face it "evil." I never liked rap growing up, so to see these young men rap about Christ really touches my heart. The first song I was blessed to hear from Reach Records was by Trip Lee called Let Them Know. I could tell it was from God because after I heard it, I began to feel burdened to share the Gospel. God is with these brothers!

  • Wonder what the robed choir thought of this?

  • @Tubatoofpaste guy with blue blue smock thing is getting into it

  • PRAISE THE LORD ON HIGH

  • @MrMtotheTizzle Lol HARD!

  • @MrKnifekid thank you!

  • thats really nice of lecrae

  • I have heard some things like you have to repeat the word 'blood' hundreds of times and that way you speak in tongues. A pastor said so to an aunt of mine.

Wicked he is, never I will listen a word of his mouth. And he also allows remarrying in the church.

But there are other pentecostal pastors that clearly condamn that demonic practice, although I am not sure if the majority or only a few of them.

Nevertheless, I have never asked for that kind of gifts. Wisdom is what I pray for.

  • @Fleasfleas2 I have to say that Paul speaks about prophecies and about the gift of translation. If they were in human tongues no one needed to have a gift to translate it.

Umm... I am realizing that I have some problems with that logic now...

Anyway, I would never say that their speaking in tongues come from Satan, for I am afraid of judging the Spirit. Of course, I have seen videos in youtube of people rolling on ground behaving as demonized. That I say, is not the Holy Spirit.

  • @Fleasfleas2 I go to a Pentecostal church now (first my parents baptized me in an orthodox church, then went 8 years to a baptist church and then 8 to an evangelical church), I have been baptized there almost one year ago. It's difficult to go to a church that has the theology of the Free Will, but I learn a bit of love this way.

But I see and hear things that I am sure come from the Spirit. However, I sometimes doubt about some things, but I fear judging that.

  • @Fleasfleas2 However, there also exist that angelical tongues. It can be considered that this gift is only partian nowadays; the Spirit does give the speaking in tongues, not human, but angelical.

  • I love the choir sittin there in the back :D

  • Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Notice the name of child is to be called the Father, The Mighty God!

Paul said the fulness of the Godhead dwells in Jesus.

  • @blackmon

The second place that is recorded is at the end of Luke 24. Notice how Luke 24 said it's preached in His name.

Father, Son, & Holy Ghost are not names. They are adjectives that are descriptive of the noun "Name" which Matthew didn't record in that passage. However Luke did & so did Peter in Acts 2:38 and the test of the Apostles that Baptized.

Jesus didn't ask us to repeat what he said but to do what he said! So you mist ask yourself, were the apostles disobeying Jesus when they Bap

  • Stimmy. Don't confuse tongues that's the initial sign of Holy Ghost infilling with the Gift of Tongues that Paul spoke about.

There is a difference. Not everyone gets the gift of tongues which is where one gives a message in tongues.

But people do Speak in a unknown tongue when they receive the Holy Ghost as recorded in Acts.

That's why Jesus told nicodemus: "You can't see the wind but hear the SOUND thereof, so it is the same for everyone born of the spirit"

  • Dryata, speaking the tongues is supernatural, but not everyone, who borned in spirit can speak the tongues.. read that apostel Paul had said about that.

    1 Corinthians 12:27-30

  • this brother is the real deal....not just a rapper but the real deal.....to live is Christ to die is gain.....death toself and alive in Christ is the real Gospel message

  • Apparently *didn't

  • Speaking in tongues is the evidence to those around of the Holy Ghost filling the vessel. Apparently you did read acts and all the places recording them speaking in tongues when the Holy Ghost came. Acts 2, 8, 10, 19... Etc!

Even Jesus told Nicodemus that you can't see the wind, but you hear the SOUND! Then said it's the same for everyone born of the spirit! You hear that sound, the language!

Apparently you don't study your Bible

  • Matt 7:22-23 he told them to depart from him because he did not know them. They used his name but never took on his name! That's why Paul said when were baptized in Christ we have PUT ON CHRIST! Gal 3:27! That's why every apostle Baptized in Jesus Name! You need to explain to me why you don't obey Acts 2:38. Your against what the Apostles taught the early church if you are preaching another way! Lord help us all if we don't tell people what they MUST DO to be saved! Acts 2:37-38

  • He was the Father in Creation, he Was manifested in the flesh & was the Son in redemption, today he is the Holy Ghost in us!

  • Isaiah 9:6 tells us the the son is the Mighty God and everlasting Father. That's why all the Apostles baptized in Jesus Name. That is the Name described by the adjectives in Matt 28:19. That's why Peter (who had keys to the kingdom) preach repentance & baptism in JESUS NAME!

  • When we baptize in Jesus Name, we obey and fulfill Matt 28:19. Note what Luke 24:47 (second place greets commission recorded) the Name of the Father, Son, & Holy Ghost IS JESUS!

  • To armorofGodministries. Can you show me one scripture where someone was baptized by repeating the titles father son & Holy Ghost? The Bible says there is no salvation in any other name than Jesus. According to the Bible, All the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Jesus!

  • love it.bless u all

  • the glory of God was there

  • When he slowed down at the end it touched my soul like it hasn't been touched in a while. I am a christian and has been for about 3 years and all I listen to is christian hip-hop, but when he slowed down I cried uncontrollably. I love that LeCrae always always always gives God the glory.

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I can tell Lecrae is so uncomfortable! Religiousness so powerful that Lecrae is out of the picture!

  • Who's the guy who introduces lecrae? It's not John Piper, is it?

First time I nearly cried on a hip hop song. I love it when he slowed down at the end!

  • @djmelvill

It is Kenny Stokes, the assistant pastor.

  • @mrich21087 That makes better sense.

  • Whats Good! Nick Mock here from Houston, just showing some major love for the holy hip hop scene! Check out my singles @ nickmock123 - much appreciation for all the inspiration to come out of your channel!

  • i still don't understand why people reject hip hop/rap in church... hm...

  • hip hop and rap are too different genres...

  • can anyone help wit beats i trying to do god will in my life but i need sum help

  • PASSION FOR CHRIST LECRAE!!!

  • This is so nice

  • Can Hip-Hop be a Christian tool? Sonic Warfare by Ivor Myers

  • @andiroo42 yes it can. the same way money is used as a tool, but just like music and money, it is not to be worshiped. only God the father and the son should be worshiped. you can use hip hop and videos to show the younger generations that you can worship God and still be real without killing as well.

  • Epic!

  • Really think about what some of you are saying? That this isn't worship. Anything is worship if the person or people are really crying out and praising God. Whether it's rock, country, rap, metal, hardcore. They're are so many kids not being reached in the underground and this man is reaching them! All worship I believe falls short in Gods eyes because He is perfect and we are so far from it. All of it probably sounds like garbage. He just see's the heart.

  • @armorofgod Lecrae is doing something special and reaching a different group of people that not many can reach. He has taken hip-hop music and given it a spiritual edge. I would be ashamed if I were you for putting down a Christian brother who has found a way to reach people that I'm sure none of us could through his music.

  • LOVE HIM!!

  • LET ME SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT, WE ARE NOT HIP-HOP ARTISTS & I'LL TELL U Y BECUZ HIP HOP IS A RELIGION THAT DOES NOT GLORIFY GOD, WE ARE CHRISTIAN RAP MINISTERS THAT USE MUSIC AS A TOOL TO REACH THE NATION & THIS LOST GENERATION... SO PLEASE STOP SAYING HIP-HOP... GOD BLESS!!

  • I am ashamed that John Pipers church had this heathen preform, he is NO Christian! Lecrae is singing Satan's Music in Christ's name!

  • @ArmorOfGodMinistries Jesus says come to me, judge righteously, not according to appearance.

  • Yes, the Bible says that, but that is talking about how someone looks, whether they be waring nice clothes or rag dirty clothes.

  • @ArmorOfGodMinistries That's untrue, Jesus said that because people were accusing him of breaking the Sabbath. It has nothing to with what anyone's wearing.

This means don't judge by what things appear to be in your mind, but judge righteously and in the spirit. I pray you look into the scripture, look to Christ that you may be saved. (Your interpretation of John 7:24 is completely off)

    God bless

  • I tell ya what, When you can find someone singing that type of music that acts like a Christian, then you can talk with me, but until then read the Bible. For many shall come in my name saying I am Christ and shall deceive many (Mark 13:6:)

  • @ArmorOfGodMinistries Sir, what makes music Christian or not?

  • First, who does it truly lift up? It it out to be music talking about the Lord or is it just clean music of the world in disguise? Then what life style and image doe the groups reflect? Are they in nice normal clothes or are they all in skinny jeans, name brand shirts or all of that black and dark clothing that is punk rockish. And if truth be known, most of those clothes have Satanic symbols on them. These people are not Christian. Stand firm in the Truth of the Jesus Christ of the Bible!

  • @ArmorOfGodMinistries Um you haven't read Lecrae's lyrics have you? My guess is you also have done enough research to see how he and his contemporaries live their lives.

Instead you've slandered public-ally godly men trying to preach the gospel, because you have an aversion to a style of music.

People standing in the truth of Christ don't act as you have here.

Bless friend, I pray that you are slow to speak next time.

  • You know, that is one of the top ten lies they use, "Only the Words Matter". And no they are not Godly men, they are Heathen in the church. And yes people standing for the truth Preach the WORD just as I have here. Don't fall into the lie.

  • @ArmorOfGodMinistries Maybe you need to take the Paul Washer route. Unlike you, he went to the Legacy Conference and got to know these guys personally. Just look on youtube for his message to them. Pray for our brothers who are called to urban ministry. Stop slandering (you don't even known them) and pray for them that God protect them from temptation and empower them to preach the gospel to the urban community. Mediate on Romans 12:4-5 and Matthew 7:2-5 brother. I'll be praying for you.

  • I do not care if he went and met the Pope of the Catholic Church and said he was a nice guy, The Pope is still Satan's worker. Same goes for singers. I pray that their wicked acts be exposed and the Truth be known. The music is of the Devil himself. Stop watering down the Gospel and Stand FIRM in it instead of giving worldly people worldly music repackaged in the church!!!

  • @ArmorOfGodMinistries Wow you're seriously misguided in everyway... and don't say "I'm guided by the Lord" because God created music to worship Him, and whatever music we worship Him with is fine as long as we don't degrade the message, which I can hear pretty clearly in this song. So stop it, please.

  • Yet again you use one of tht top ten lies to support this music. And NO, I will NOT stop spreading the Truth of Jesus Christ, I will proclaim this until the day I die!! And I am not misguided, I follow the WORD. You are in that fake Christianity that is Seeker friendly and accepting to all people whether they be gay or whatever. This is they fake church (Satan's counterfeit) that will not stand FIRM in the Truth of Christ and pick up their Cross! This music is giving the world the world!

  • @ArmorOfGodMinistries Who are you to judge what kind of church I go to? You're so ignorant... I go to a Pentecostal church that believes that ALL sin is actually SIN. Homosexuality is WRONG. We accept the people and CONSTANTLY condemn the sin and tell them to repent. Are you really telling me that this man does not love God with all his heart and is not worshiping Him? Also, tell me in the Bible where it says we can't listen to music that has Christian themes and messages.

  • The Bible has the right to judge a church. Pentecostalism is not Christian, it is a mere cult. They believe that you must speak in tongues to be saved, that is not only a work, but also not found ANYWHERE in the Holy Scriptures. Read the Bible they way it is written and do not have Pentecostal Doctrine floating in the back of your mind, the message that should be spread is quite clear.

  • @ArmorOfGodMinistries actually we DON'T believe that you have to be speaking tongues to be saved. YOU are the one judging, not the Bible. Do proper homework next time. Also,

If then there is any encouragement in Christ, any consolation from love, any sharing in the Spirit, any compassion and sympathy, make my joy complete: be of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, -Phillipians 2:1-3a

  • @ArmorOfGodMinistries All your doing is stirring up conflict in the body of Christ. You're very misguided. Why bother us when we're saved and we aren't doing anything against the Bible? And even if we are, so are you. I love God with all my heart and I don't need anyone but JESUS judging my character for something as silly as CHRISTIAN music.

  • No, I ma stirring u[p conflict in the world that gives the world the world inside of Gods house. Repent or Perish (Luke 13:3). And let us refer to the many people who claim to follow the Bible, such as Joel Osteen. My shoe is more Christian than that guy. Come on. Get out of that Cult and the Truth will set you free (John 8:32)

  • @ArmorOfGodMinistries Please tell me how my church is a "cult" because I can assure you that 90% of the rest of real Christians will agree I'm NOT in a cult. And do you really believe that I'm going to perish for listening to music that you don't like that has crystal clear Christian messages?

  • Pentecostalism was founded in the Radical Holiness movement. They take Tongues to an extreme they believe All bad things are of the devil you have stupid preachers like Don Stewart making prayer hankies for healing, some Pentecostals have snakes, some deny the Trinity, some even baptize only in the name of Jesus and claim that if you baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, you are not saved. Most Pentecostals also yell, run around, fall in the floor and do other things in church

  • @ArmorOfGodMinistries And you didn't even ask what MY church does and just assumed in your ignorance that we do some stupid things like that. Our church is based of the BIBLE.

  • Good Day to you, I WILL NOT continue this unfruitful discussion with you. Repent or Perish!

  • @ArmorOfGodMinistries No wait! Am I going to perish?!

  • If you don't come out of that cult, YEP!!! Good Bye, this is my last response to you. If you have something to say you can send me a message!

  • @TSmity2 I really want to commend you for the way you've interacted with ArmorOfGodMinistires.

It concerns me that a brother would ever take a quarrelsome approach, not kind, not exercising an ability to teach, but being resentful. I see the qualities of the Lord's servant in you, though (2 Timothy 2:24). Thank you for not repaying evil for what is evil--I have a tendency to sin against those that sin against me.

I hope that those who read these interactions would do so with discernment.

  • @ironoxidey Thank you brother. It was extremely hard though, it makes me really angry that you would judge somebody on such a silly thing and I had to hold back and calm down. Thanks for the encouragement :)

  • Comment removed

  • @ironoxidey And that definitely isn't it; we're always going to have differences, but we have to be discerning in which differences will cause trouble or deceive and which are just a matter of silly opinion. You know the Bible better than I do, lol. Maybe you'd be better at it :)

  • @TSmity2

I still have not read all the way through the bible, and I am daily humbled in my interactions with my roommate (a seminary graduate), co-workers, and friends, in that they have a better ability to recall Scriptures than I do. They're all very encouraging though, and I try daily to catch up. =)

  • @ironoxidey

Mostly I just remember keywords from passages I've read before, and look 'em up on BlueLetterBible

  • @ironoxidey Well I've read the Bible all the way through and you're still better :) haha.

  • Comment removed

  • @ironoxidey that was an accident . . .

  • there is more gospel in this hip hop than in most pulpits

  • HOW LONG AGO WAS THIS?

  • AWW i USE TO GO THERE BUT NOW I HAVE NO RIDE I MISS IT SO MUCH

  • Fatherlessness is the breeding habitat for hip hop. It literally feeds on kids (especially boys) who are raised by a single mom or who have weak fathers. If you listen to hip hop artists these days, most, if not all, were raised by their mom and their dad either died or left when they were young, leaving them no example of how to be a man. hip hop fills that void. THAT is why, as of 2000, there are more black people IN PRISON THAN IN COLLEGE!!!!! FACT!

  • Excuse me, I meant to say more black MEN in prison than in college.

  • @911TruthSeeker91 the music used for hymns started as drinking songs, genius. you act like God isn't in the business of redemption.

  • again what your saying is completely irrelevent to this topic. I'm not against rapping. I'm not against the style of rapping. I'm against the subculture of hip hop. a subculture which dictates how people should talk, walk, dress, look, act, etc. hymns originated from bars (according to you) but it doesnt dictate my life. It doesn't tell me how to talk, walk, dress, act or look, neither does rapping. But hip hop does and you can't deny that, period.

  • you are making a categorical error in your reasoning.

subcultures are descriptive, not prescriptive. they don't dictate how to talk, walk, dress, act or look, they describe whatthose within that given subculture do.

the whole purpose of referring to it as a subculture is to draw a distinction between the culture from which one draws their morals and actions and the subculture which describes certain aspects of their lifestyle. prove what i'm saying to be wrong, and i'll believe you.

  • @fecklessman No. The distinction between a culture and a subculture is simple: a child is born in a certain culture, whether it be Western, African, Asian, whatever. A child has no choice in which culture he associates himself with because he is just born into a culture. However, a person can choose to affiliate himself in a subculture, whether it be hip hop, gothic, greaser, etc.

  • @fecklessman The fact still remains that if you get into a subculture long enough, you will start to look, talk and act they way it wants you to. I'm not saying that when a person wants to join a subculture, it tells him that first he needs to wear certain things, no i'm not saying that at all. I'm just saying that the longer you stay in that subculture, the more damaging it is to your life.

  • so first you say: 'I'm against the subculture of hip hop. a subculture which dictates how people should talk, walk, dress, look, act, etc.'

then you say: 'I'm not saying that when a person wants to join a subculture, it tells him that first he needs to wear certain things, no i'm not saying that at all.'

really? because that's EXACTLY what it sounds like you're saying. say what you mean.

  • @fecklessman You have misunderstood me completely. Put it like this, if you put a frog in hot, boiling water the frog will immediately leap out. But if you put a frog in lukewarm water and slowly boil it, it will stay in that water and die from the heat. It's the same with subcultures. I'm not saying that when a person first listens to a hip hop song, he immediately changes his character. Thats absurd. What I'm saying is that over a period of time he gradually changes.

  • @fecklessman "you are making a categorical error in your reasoning"

Show me where i'm making that error.

  • according to your statement that hip-hop as a subculture 'dictates how people should talk, walk, dress, look, act, etc.' which means that the subculture is prescriptive. it tells you what to do. this is not true. it is DEscriptive. it tells you what persons within that subculture generally do.

you're really good at doublespeak, but you're not convincing anyone bro. saying 'hip-hop is a religion following the prophet krs-one' doesn't make it so.

  • @fecklessman

now you deny that hip hop is a religion. why don't you prove me wrong? go look it up. find the founding fathers of hip hop and see what they have to say about it. KRS 1 wrote a hip hop bible, "Gospel of Hip Hop". Bambataa (the godfather of hip hop) says that black people are gods. Go look it up if you think i'm lying.

  • @fecklessman

If you see a kid with a do-rag, his pants sagging, and a wife beater you know, just by your instincts that that kid listens to hip hop, not just occasionally but ALL THE TIME.

  • @fecklessman

now theres no point arguing back and forth with comments because, clearly, it isn't going anywhere. So I recommend you look on both sides of the argument and find it out for yourself. God bless

  • i was there i luv christian rap more after hearing him during offertory

  • Praise God for your life, Lecrae. You inspire, and that's a blessing =)

  • @911TruthSeeker91

Wow. someone is reading too much into hiphop. I think it's just a genre of music

  • 911truthseeker91 !!! your the devil

  • really? Its funny how you dont know who I am and yet you call me the devil. I havent blasphemed Christs name, neither have I been teaching others or you a false doctrine, and yet you call me the devil. I wont argue with you, because you are my brother/sister in Christ so instead I recommend that you watch a video on youtube called

    The Truth Behind Hip Hop

It'll tell you all you need to know about hip hop. Peace.

  • God bless Lecrae!

  • Hip Hop is of the devil. Rap is a form of expressing music like singing and making beats. Hip hop is an organized religion and a culture created against God. If you think I'm lying then explain why KRS one wrote the Hip Hop bible the gospel according to KRS one. They even have a temple of hip hop where they worship themselves as gods and godesses how in the world is the church going to bring that in. Rap is not the same as hip hop. rap is something you do. hip hop is something you become.

  • Following your logic why are you on the Internet it is filled with many things that aren't from God, so its from the Devil. The Internet has pornography and other inappropriate things and has turned people into gods in today's society. There is good in the internet similarly is Hip Hop and Rap there is a lot of music that is bad, however there are people like Lecrae that use Rap for the glory of God.

  • first off, i want to make it absolutely clear that I understand there is a difference between rap and hip hop. hip hop is a sub culture, rap is the style in which a person makes music, like singing, whistling or humming. rap is harmless. I just want to make that clear. I believe rap could be used. Me personally I would prefer old hymns but thats my opinion not everybody's.

  • @911TruthSeeker91 If you take someone off the streets and have them listen to Hymns they wouldn't be likely to listen

  • oh I see. So you want to use fleshy methods to bring the lost in the church? No where in the Scriptures is there any reference to evangelism using music. I would not use hymns to bring in the world I would preach the gospel of Jesus Christ because only that has the power to bring men to salvation. Everything else is vanity. To be drawn by music is to be drawn by emotion, pure and simple.

  • now, the problem with your comment is that you try to link the internet with hip hop, but it doesnt work. You see, the internet doesnt govern how I dress, sound, think, walk or live, its just a thing to get info from, like TV and radio. Sure bad stuff is on there, but thats if you go looking for it. Hip hop is not like that.

My friend, you need to study the history of hip hop before you accept it into the church.

I recommend that you watch the Truth Behind Hip Hop on youtube for info.

  • hip hop was originally started out as a religion for the 5% Nation of Gods and Earths. A cult who believe that they are gods and godesses. The prophet of that religion is KRS one and the leaders of it are DJ Kool Herc, Afrikka Bambataa and the Zulu Nation.

  • @911TruthSeeker91 So you wouldnt think that something that was made evilly could not be used for Gods glory? It says in the Bible that we were born with sinful nature so following your logic we cant be used because we are tainted While what you are saying is correct that hip-hop was started out as a religion, however that mindset is limiting God from being able to be glorified to the people that listen to that genera of music.

  • God did not create hip hop in His image did He? He created man in His own image which is why by His grace men can be saved through faith in Christ. If we take your argument you can argue the same case for animals. Why can't God save animals? Because he didn't create animals in His image.

  • @911TruthSeeker91 Amen brother!!!

  • Again lets take your position. Since hip hop is a religion and that christians can use certain things about hip hop such as the music, then it wouldn't be wrong for a Christian to practice yoga, would it? sure buddhism and hinduism is a religion and not from God, but we can use certain parts of the religion which are known to bring peace in people's minds and so that they can get a decent exercise in the process, right?

Do you see where this is going?

  • Why don't you through the idea of hip hop out of your thinking and just listen to and receive the word of God? fecklessmen is correct. The music of all the great old hymns we love and respect today were Saloon Bar Room tunes. The opposition was incredible, but God prevailed. This concept is not new, as is the Saul to Paul conversion. Today you are that opposition, but no one can ever stop what God is doing. Acts 26:14

  • Recently, church scholars have presented pretty convincing proof that Luther and the Wesleys did NOT do so, and that the legend arose from a misconception about the word "bar tune" or "bar form," which seminary students assumed meant a tune sung in local drinking establishments, but is actually a form of poetry popular in Medieval times -- a different kind of bar altogether.

  • Maybe your correct on the history of hymns but its not the type of music I'm against. It's the image which that music turns people into Please, read the previous comments i made. I am not against rap. Please understand that. Rap is a way of expressing music, like singing and humming or whistling for that matter. Personally I prefer singing but thats another issue.

  • It requires you to look a certain way, walk a certain way, act a certain way, talk a certain way etc, etc. You cannot deny that. I don't doubt you when you say that hymns originated from drunks singing in a bar, but its completely irrelevant to what I'm saying. Its not the style of music its the subculture. hymns doesnt make people dress, act or talk a certain way does it? Neither does rapping. but hip hop does. tell me I'm wrong...and if I am prove it.

  • I think its awesome if God blesses him with the ability to make a living for doing what he does. He does this full time you can't always do it for free.

  • I actually think it's sick to make money off of "inspirational music." If you really want to spread the word of God, do it for free!

  • I saw him livat rock the river. He perfomed this song the exact same way. I have two friends who hated christian rap, but after seeing him live and hearing his message, they now listen to him and are giving other christian rap artist's a shot

  • trying to categorize the music takes the focus of the main picture, like he said - it's Christ in his rhymes: But it simply human nature to take something and split down the middle and insert our thoughts and beliefs in it somewhere. The main objective is to reach someone who has ears and wants to listen - who's lost and desperately making themselves available to be found but are unaware of the right roads to take -- while we are here trying to find the right label to put on the music -

  • yes, when he broke down the second verse and flipped it like it was poetry really got the spirit in me stirring....I can' wait to see churches embrace holy hip hop and let us fellow hip hop artist give GOD the glory through our words and craft

  • Good performance. I'm glad considering the audience that the lyrics were actually on the big screen. I also like the fact that he did half the song in a slower acapella rap. The congregation could probably understand the song better that way. Go Piper! Go Lecrae! Solus Christus!
