My guess is, they drowned the shark. I know that sounds stupid, but you can drown a shark. Catch the shark and pull it up to the boat, tie a rope around it's tail, then take off. That is how you drown a shark. The shark isn't dead, you can see it move when it goes under water. Stupid people letting their dog jump in the water, not all sharks attack people, however, dogs make a yummy treat for them.
