....Fair comment MarshalStax...but he should drop the name because he has no legal rights to it, and the Glitter Band Trademark name belongs to someone else and the LAW states that....
A fantastic song but spoilt by this version of John Rossalls, he should drop THE GLITTER BAND name...it doesnt suit and fans are getting confused...Keep to Rossall and the Gang please....
Why should he drop the Glitter Band name after all this was his song - He was the original founder member along with others and they all should be allowed to use the name. The fans I know definately do NOT get confused as you state. As many people that dislike this version there are more that like it, most true fans will embrace all of the band members and not look to cause the confusion as you obviously do. I don't get fans of Glitter Rock, starved of the music yet divided in support?????
@MarshalStax true fans aren`t confused people are stirring.John was the founding member like it or not and co-wrote this with the late Gerry Shepherd. As the founding member there wouldn`t have been a glitter band but for him so silly people who think they are a member of the band in their own minds are the one`s who should give up
@coolcarole What a numpty you are my love, obviously fed lies by the incidius Phipps and Pearson, I wasted 2 hours and £20 of my money watching that shi*e at Xmas with the useless springate stood there like a stool, now that's confusion!
Not so cool carole!! There's no confusion love, after wasting my time and money watching the incidious Phipps and Pearson at Xmas I can tell you the only one confused is you!!
If it wasnt for Glitter, Rossall would still be with the Boston band or faded away by now, he would never had been in the Glitterband to sing this song and try to make money
What you forget is that Angel Face would never have happened without John Rossall as he co wrote it and many of their hits continuing to write with Gerry into the eighties favourites such as Look What you've been Missing and Until The Next Time. The Glitter Band as we know it would never have happened without him either. Never understand why so many want to knock the chap! It's a sad world full of ignorance I suppose.
Its a shame your facts aren't right, the riff was iinspired by Mike Leanders' Do you Wanna touch. It was the part of the song that came together before Gerry collaborated on the lyrics. Pete had nothing to do with the song, Why the desperation to give Pete credit for things he never did? Pete did some great projects in his own right with the likes of Random Hold which was brilliant and very much acclaimed by the music press.
My apologies, I got my info from a member of the band(not Pete !) when we were listening to the original demo a few years ago.Seems he got his facts wrong :)
Funny, as I had a discussion with the late Gerry in front of Pete on Angel Face some years ago in the 90's and he never eluded to it then so why would he now?
@maxgross Hi, just to put you right on this, John Rossall wrote the Music and Gerry Shephard wrote the lyrics. Pete Phipps only changed the Drumming on it at the request of Mike Leander who thought the drums were to slow and asked for them to be speeded up. infact John wrote the Medley on a old battered piano on the original demo which didn't have sax on. this is FACT, not FICTION.
@TheDebdens.Too right Rossall owes GG his career! It's ridiculous the way he disses GG's contribution to the 'glitter sound' all the time. Is it not Glitter/ Leander on the songwriting credits on all those amazing records made under the name GARY GLITTER? Also Rossall routinely suggests in interviews that GG was just the lead singer of the band??? I loved the Glitterband, I bought every single & album they put out, but would I have were it not for GG 's incredible success/showmanship???
woah, who the hell put that??? i didn't put on of these comments on, and did not that one 3 months ago. does anyone know how to stop hackers cos this happened on my my space as well. I'm a massive fan of the g band!!!
He was never kicked out of the band, he left of his own accord. Also, Gary Glitter had nothing to do with the Glitter Bands solo career. I was, however, glad when he left as I always thought he looked way older than the others and never quite semmed to fit.
lovely guy try going to see him sometime!! He knew what Glitter was like! He started it all as the Boston show band but bloody Glitter took it over !! Still he had the last laugh pervert is banged up and John is still on the circuit!!
Looks like a tranny freak with a werewolf look...Ouch this hurts!

He got his facts right. Pete did write the chorus, but wasn't credited!

You're so wrong. I absolutely know for sure that Pete wrote the chorus!
