@david08461 he is, he can't do everything at once. Some days he does skyrim, some days he does mass effect, and some days he does other games (i.e sims). It will come eventually.

If you mean the certain alteration spell that has a certain effect on a particular type of item in your inventory, there's a location to get that spell, just north of whiterun in a bandits camp.

Damo, Alchemy. Make various potions and sell them. I can guarantee you, you'll become rich in no time and then you actually have a reason to pick flowers and go on a butterfly catching spree.

Plus once he has a ton of spare gold he will no longer need to go walk about to get that stuff as he will be able to buy the stuff and then sell the stuff he makes....In doing so it will upgrade two skills.

if you want earn a lot of money you should clear halted streams camp of bandits, take the alteration spell tome inside (its transmute ore) then finish the kolskeggr mine quest, and start mining gold ore from kolskeggr mine and iron ore from halted streams camp, both of those places (plus transmute ore spell) will get you 99 gold ore, the guy who gives you the kolskeggr mine quest will buy gold ore for 50 gold, that gets you 4950 gold every month.(veins replenish in in-game months)

I believe that staves actually do MUCH more damage then normal spells. (At least, that seems to be the way it is in my game, so any I find may simply be as strong as thay are because of my level.)

Also, remember to engage in that drinking contest should you find Sam Guevenne in a tavern. The rewarded staff is *quite* good.

If you want to level up enchanting and earn a lot of money at the same time you could smith some iron daggers, enchant them with a simple weapon enchantment like Fear and use your worst soul gems (I recommend Petty Soul Gems) and sell them (they're now worth about a couple hundred gold). Of course Elwynn might hate working at the forge, but it's money right?

Another useful tip I've found is that you can tell Lydia to cut wood for you (choose 'I need you to do something', and activate the block)
